My dad drowned when I was 16. I really appreciate what these guys do, your heartwarming stories for everybody involved and occasionally it even makes me cry when they recover somebody keep up the good work gentleman.
Yeah it was 52 years ago, almost 70 now but still lost out on a lot of time that I would have gotten to spend with my dad if he still been here with me
Sorry for your loss, these guys can bring a tear to my eyes quickly not only because of what they do but the level of care and respect they show the victims and there families.
Oh my God, this really hit home for me. My only child drowned in a Ohio quarry in 1988. Luckily he was with friends and he was recovered later that night. Thank you AWP for all you do.
I hope that corporation sees this and GRANTS ACCESS for your return, to bring Jeffery back to his family. It’s the right thing to do. Thank you AWP for all your efforts, especially the denied ones.
While it's the right thing to do to let them in ,this should be a lesson to private owned properties as well. While we all want to bring some sort of closure to the family and friends ,you need to protect yourself from liability. That corporation probably has deep pockets. So when one of the divers has an accident and either dies or is somehow injured and not able to provide for his family and children.A lawsuit is filed ,and under deposition you'll hear the corporation employee allowed an amateur dive team to be there. That's an easy 10M or more settlement that corps insurance will deny. Will that likely happen ? Probably not.But I wouldn't want the liability . Keep up the great work
I guess it will be very difficult, not only liability/insurance issues but it could also attract (bad) publicity - headline: body found on Willy Wonka's property -, a crime scene can appear so maybe operations must be halted for a while, some (bad) practices that can attract internal and external auditors. They chosen (sadly but kinda understandable) the easy and safe way out. It would be nice if a top shot was confident in his company and provide all the support to make it happen. Just for the family and local community.
@Kabuki Kitsune yea but that literally can all be solved with a waiver contract. Basically saying said party agrees that the company is not responsible for their actions.
To be fair if people didn’t sue for everything then maybe we wouldn’t have to have so many ridiculous rules and people would be more open to helping more people.

This must of been difficult for you to watch at best. I do read comments as I watch and your the only person friend, that added a comment. Thanks for making this more personal. This is real for you and for us watching.
When I started watching this man dive in rivers for just stuff…..now he’s solving the lost ones. Incredible thank you for all the video you have posted.
At 6:43 when the property owner finds out there is a truck next to the car, he sounds a bit nervous. Especially when he immediately ask if the police are going to be called... suspicious
I can't believe you got denied. I mean I get it but the fact that he came and was so friendly, opened the gate and everything and then was like "No." That's BS, honestly. I really hope they let you guys go search that quarry. Thank you guys for all you do!
I think Ian wanted to get off work on time. Heaven forbid he would have had to work over to help find someone. Some people aren’t willing to go the extra mile to help a stranger and it’s very sad. 😞
@Courtney Allen-I can believe it, that's a corporation that knows nothing about AWP, Chaos Divers or anyone. They're worse than dealing with the feds, they don't care about a missing person, very typical!
@@DD-wd7ku and @Caroh I’ve worked with guys like Ian before. They want to hurry and get out the door when it’s time to get off work. Paperwork doesn’t take that long to fill out. AWP knows what ones to send. He didn’t OFFER to send the paperwork at all, so YES, it WAS a FAIR assessment!!! 🤦♀️
I feel like as soon as a possibility of a crime scene he completely shut down, and was like no. Do they know something we don't? I just don't understand why he couldn't have even called to ask. Keep up the amazing work you guys do!
That’s a reach considering any big company would want protection against liability. He probably thought he was meeting with someone tied to the police department and when he found out they weren’t, he had rules to follow. That seems more logical, especially considering it will all be on camera. He may have been more likely to break rules if it was a private thing.
I worked for Martin Marietta and he was telling you guys the truth about this company being safe and requires so much paperwork to access the quarry for something like you guys are doing. I did the same job as Christy the lady that answered the phone. I was proud of how polite she was to you guys. Ian was nice but to the point.
WOW!!! I feel your frustration at being so close to a prime search area and then being denied by the red tape they wrap you up in. Thanks for the effort guys.
jared you are an amazing person. i never imagined that awp would become something so massive. but you all did something no one else did. you brought over 2 million people together as a huge family of amazing supporters to help you all search for missing persons and solving over 20 cases and many more to follow. so many families felt lost and abandoned by the police, and yes most police dont have the resources or the training, and some just dont want to help. its amazing that you are all out there everyday searching. 2 teams this year will definitely maximize the search efforts. we all love you jared. doug, carson, josh. thank you to all the amazing supporters. your help gave 21 families resolution! and to jacob grubbs and all the others that have solved cases to.your all amazing aswell. i will always support, i always wear my shirts and hoodies and my hat to show support for this amazing movement and be here showing my continued support. if you love what awp is doing and want to be part of the team then hit that subscribe button! love you guys. from your friend james rideout
I agree with others on here and with Doug. The corporate red tape is exactly because they don't want to deal with it. How unfortunate. Hopefully AWP will be able to come back and play their game ahead of time. Thank you guys for all that you do and try to do. God bless you!
Maybe they can get profiling evil to get involved in obtaining the proper paperwork to search. He was able to do it in Utah on another search with the diesel bros.
Did everyone miss that this is Koi farm? Maybe AWP missed that too… that’s why he said that there is training required. There may be equipment and pumps in that pond, and if they’re actively breeding, full of valuable fish! If it was an emergency, then he was okay, but if it’s a cold case, then that changes it.
@@karenneill9109 People over property. Every time. If it's a liability issue, have them sign a waiver. If it's a matter of harming fish/property, tough stuff. This is a person whose family needs answers and to bring their loved one home, and that should trump property every time. I get the sense, though, as others have pointed out, that these folks have something else to hide not related to this case, but related to that body of water. Otherwise they would've simply had them sign a waiver, and perhaps something stating that they accept any damages incurred to property in the process of the search.
This hit home..... same river....My grampa drowned in that same river he was fishing with friends and fell overbord. His death was ruled suspicious.... (he was a navy seal) my grandma was left to take care of 6 children under the age of 12.... thank you for all your videos and work you all out in.
What you all do is so selfless and amazing!! As a former member of law enforcement in Miami, Fl. So many times we wondered if someone went over a bridge or some body of water. A lot of these cases went unsolved. It was just too much water to cover. It was the hardest part of the job either notifying the family that we’ve recovered their loved one or telling them we’ve exhausted all the leads and we can’t give them closure. Thank you for what you’re doing I know it’s very emotionally taxing but what you are doing is invaluable to these peoples families!!! God bless and be safe!!
I think the change in Ian's demeanor could certainly be that the way the message was given to him by dispatch is that someone went missing TODAY and law enforcement wanted to check there. He was willing to work with law enforcement on a fresh missing persons case, which is great. When he heard it is an old case and he found you weren't law enforcement, I think that's the difference. Law enforcement couldn't hold his company liable for any issues that happen to them, but private citizens could. It's reasonable - unfortunate, but understandable. Hopefully you can call them ahead of your next trip to the area to give them time to prepare whatever they need to give you permission.
That’s completely true but if you watch their other videos they always tell them their city, state, & insurance etc are not responsible for them they’re doing this on their own as volunteers.
Every time I look at your intro, I get a shiver.so many souls who were allowed to return home thanks to you.in times of war and hatred, it is so important to be able to experience people like you. People who help completely selfless, that is so precious, thank you guys ♥️
I’m sure if this had been arrons son we would have had no problem getting in there to search. Maybe you need to print off some sheets to keep in your rv. Just releasing anyone from responsibility. You guys do a great job keep up the good work.
Wow I'm really close to this area, grew up in Middletown Ohio. There is a body of water up the road from Franklin in Middletown called Smith pond in Smith park. From what I was told it used to be an old Quarry and is about 100' deep in areas super easy to drive a car into and I doubt it's ever been searched. Thanks for all that you guys do, keep up the awesome work.
Actually, to all who disagree with the MMarrietta rules, this is standard procedure in an active a deactivated mining operations. These operations fall under strict Federal and state guidelines. I have been in the industry for 23 years, and am pretty sure the employee would have lost his job and also brought Federal and state inspectors to the mine. This would end up in major fines and possible loss of permits, to the mine owners.
Yep, sad part they may never get to see if he's in their or not. Because if the police thought for one minute that he was in that lake they would have gotten a warrant long time ago..
@@emmie3942 If only that were true. In this area the police hardly respond to active murder investigations... they certainly don't care about cold case suicides.
My husband works in stone quarries in this area and they have to take MSHA training every year it's very strict how they regulate these things still I hope Doug and Jared get in there eventually
I’m following you all from Blackpool in the UK. I love your videos and justify hunk that what you guys do is just so worthwhile and a necessary thing to bring closure to so many families who are missing loved ones. Whilst watching this case about Mr Pottinger, you spoke to a gentleman called Ian. I don’t know if it was just me but when you said that if you do find anything pertinent to the case that it then becomes a crime scene is when I feel like his whole attitude changed towards your reason for asking for access. It’s so frustrating but from a corporate point nod view understandably necessary to cover everyone. Please keep on doing what you are doing. You are all heroes xx
I appreciate every single thing you all do to give these families answers. I heard yous volunteered to look for Summer Wells and they denied you that is absolutely ridiculous.
Totally understand your frustration on not being able to check that quarry. Being right there, I would have been tempted to wait an hour until that gate opener was long gone & went in anyway, just to know before leaving town. Hopefully, local PD can clear all the hurdles when you make it back next time. Please keep us updated on this one in the near future & thank you all once again for everything you do for the families of the missing. You truly are ANGELS. Lots of love from Baltimore.
In a situation like this where you are getting the corporate requirement run around, it would be nice to have a local TV station / reporter documenting your search and just by chance mention on the news broadcast that you were denied access to search the area where there is a high probability of finding the individual.
I have gone my entire life being told my great grandfather drowned in NC. My grandfather died thinking his dad drowned. They searched and drug the river for 4 days with zero found. For you guys to be helping so many it does help with a type of closure. I have done ancestry and everything to figure out what happened. Yall are the best.
It is really heart wrenching when you are so close to the water, but then denied access. I believe you guys did your very best to search for Jeffrey Pottinger’s vehicle. It’s sad that he wasn’t found, but there is always hope for the next time you search. At least, you know where he is not. My thoughts & prayers go out to the family. Thank you to Jared, Doug, Jacob, Lindsey, Josh and Carson!!! In one part of this video we saw the close up of little white & yellow flowers, I was thinking, I wonder if Josh took that? It was just a moment, but to me it was humbling & sweet scene of the local area. As always stay safe in all you do. Sending peace & light to guide your path in the next search! 💓😊
When Jared said "Do you know anything about it?" His demeanor changed. It sounded like he was a detective wanting info. I think he became scared at what they would find
I feel that guy at 2nd quarry attitude changed the minute it was mentioned that if car was found with correct number plate it then becomes a crime scene,he seemed to react to that and how the company would react to quarry becoming crime scene.
My bother drowned (along with 4 other people) when I was about 10 (61 now). Their bodies were never found. The answers and sometimes the closure you provide families is wonderful!
@@carriebaker5161 Good luck on your first case!! As far as my brother - the lake is 15 miles long and up to 4 miles wide. It is also glacier fed. Would be like searching for a needle in a haystack in winter. Not a wise use of your time. But thanks for the thought
My first UW recovery in late 90’s I ran face to face with the 12 yr old victim. Had many more after that, saw lots more as a Paramedic state side and contractor overseas for 20 years, but that along with carrying him out while his parents stood on the bank haunts me still
I can only imagine how traumatic that must have been. Thank you for all your years of service and that the amazing work you have done and people you have helped can bring you some peace from the trauma
Martin Marietta owns Franklin Gravel. They are a huge corp, one of those orgs that don't do anything without multiple layers of CYA forms (in triplicate) and a mountain of authorizations. Trying to work your way up the admin ladder for access is a waste of time and effort. Best way to appeal to them is through their PR department.
I agree with Doug - the complicated hoops we’re just to stonewall you. I agreed with what others have said as well - you said “… then it’s a crime scene…” and all the walls started dropping. He could see corporate watching the news and their quarry associated with a “crime scene” and imagining his retirement disappearing along with his job. I love what you gentlemen do. Thank you for every minute that you spend working on these cases and away from home. Blessings and abundance to you all.
Great humanitarian work guys. The Lord blesses you, watch over you and protect you all from evil while you work for the almighty by helping broken hearts find peace. Amen.

Hopefully he is found. AWP is truly a Blessing to many Families. With the amount of attention they put on these cases I pray others get together and they finally find Mr. Pottinger.
This might sound a bit weird but watching these amazing human beings gives me a sense of peace. Such great people helping to alleviate others suffering for nothing more than the satisfaction of knowing they did the best they could gives me faith that this chaotic world has a future. So, thank you guys, you do so much more good than you know.
You guys have worked so hard in the freezing cold all winter long to alleviate some of the suffering of families with missing loved ones. Very glad the spring is here and the work will be easier for you. Thank you for your compassion and hard work.
I'm sorry, but at the second quarry, as soon as he asked if he knew of any dumped cars there. The guys says no you can't come in right now! After he opens the gate for them! Seems kind of fishy to me.
I thought he got concerned with it when it was explained about a diver going in. That is when he got concerned about liability. As a lawyer, I fully understand why he wanted a release and hold harmless agreement, and he didn't have the authority to approve it - he had to go to a supervisor, no doubt. I don't think there is anything fishy there, unless of course the quarry is now a koi farm, in which case it would be very fishy!
To those that are saying that the guy knows something, or is hiding something. Take a step back and think of a simpler answer. The place is a corporate owned facility that has rules and requirements to follow. Is this guy gonna risk his job by not having them go through with the paperwork and risk them getting hurt? Yes the AWP team is professionals, Yes the chances of them getting hurt are very slim. The chance is still there though and they dont want the liability of that without the proper agreements in place. Not everything is a conspiracy and i hope that in future videos they tone down the conspiracy rhetoric and go with the more likely situations.
I didn't feel what they were saying was conspiracy theories, it's a i don't want to deal with all the paperwork if they find something or get hurt, I'll let my higher ups deal with it and let them talk to these people.
Although I agree not everything is a “conspiracy” however I can’t figure out why even the whisper of the possibility of a real conspiracy triggers people. The only way to “tone down” the conspiracy rhetoric in this video is to cut out the whopping 2 minutes they spoke of anything that could be interpreted as conspiracy related that’s the only part. So what I think you really mean is there are no real conspiracies ever and how dare someone even consider the possibilities. It has to be the constant vilification of anyone who goes against the mainstream narrative that has created what I see as yet another way to maintain lies. They’ve convinced many to ostracize, bully, ignore, and even cut people out of their lives for believing the truth is being hidden about some things.
It's wild to think how many insurance fraud cars you find. Thank you for what you guys do and always reaching out with a helping hand. Much love and God bless.
I honestly hope they get clearance to search that one area. The fact so many people have said "We believe he could be in this spot" says a lot. I hope the corporation sees your videos and all the good thag your organization is doing and grants access.
I really hope that you get access to that area. Jared you and your team are amazing people. Thank you for all you do for the families. You all are always in my thoughts and prayers. Keep doing what you do and please stay safe. You are Angels in disguise.
I’ve met a ton of AWP fans on twitter. The consensus is overwhelming: you guys are the bright spot in so many people’s days. You can’t teach the compassion you all have when dealing with loved ones. Thank you.
Why couldn't you get a warrant to search the property? Someone at the PD could definitely help you out with that. They get them ALL the time. Just because it's a small town doesn't mean it can't be done. The cop that took the plates could probably steer you in the right direction. Shame corporate dock blocked you! In meantime, you're confirming where he's is not. Thank you Teams for your combined efforts. Praying someone will have a change of heart. Stay safe in your travels!!
Was surprised to see you where practically in my back yard. I cant help but think about how the officer said he was last seen heading towards Springboro. I immediately thought of Caesars creek. Good luck and keep up the good work!
I totally understand the worry from the corporate guy. That is when I ask what would happen if you found someone random on your lake and can you pretend you never saw us?

My dad drowned when I was 16. I really appreciate what these guys do, your heartwarming stories for everybody involved and occasionally it even makes me cry when they recover somebody keep up the good work gentleman.
So so sorry for your loss how awful poor thing. 😔
I’m so sorry you lost your dad.
Yeah it was 52 years ago, almost 70 now but still lost out on a lot of time that I would have gotten to spend with my dad if he still been here with me
Very sorry for your loss. 💔
Sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what it's like to lose a child. God bless you
Thanks for being brave to share your story. You have an AWP family now.
Sue, I'm so sorry for the loss of your child, I can only imagine how awful that must be. My thoughts are with you.
So sorry for the loss if your son .❤️🩹
So sorry for the loss of your son!
Not all hero's wear capes. Some wear diving gear. Thank you for all you do to bring family members home so they can be laid to rest.
That would make a great T-shirt!
Keep up the great work
I guess it will be very difficult, not only liability/insurance issues but it could also attract (bad) publicity - headline: body found on Willy Wonka's property -,
a crime scene can appear so maybe operations must be halted for a while, some (bad) practices that can attract internal and external auditors.

This is literally 15 mins from my home! I would have been ecstatic to see you guys driving around. It would be an honor to buy you guys dinner, my wife and I are huge fans of the amazing work you do!
I lived in Carlisle & moved about 5 min away. I’ve been following you for 2yrs & was in shock you said Carlisle OH. We are such a small town feel community around here. It’s really disappointing what the company did & I wish the people in my area could do something about it.
This hits super hard because I grew up with this guy and his family. His son was my childhood friend who I was with every single day. Jeff was a great guy and is truly missed.. I just wish the whole family could get some answers...
This must of been difficult for you to watch at best. I do read comments as I watch and your the only person friend, that added a comment. Thanks for making this more personal. This is real for you and for us watching.
Just saw a news article for the find in Idaho. You guys are what the country needs.
Who was found
When I started watching this man dive in rivers for just stuff…..now he’s solving the lost ones. Incredible thank you for all the video you have posted.
At 6:43 when the property owner finds out there is a truck next to the car, he sounds a bit nervous. Especially when he immediately ask if the police are going to be called... suspicious
He's probably worried about liability.
Thank You, for bringing 21 people back to their families.
21 cases solved! That is extraordinary, just extraordinary!
@@carokat1111 It will cause trouble to him more than the family. Besides they can return later on after the paperwork is done.
Oh just a bolt thru holding gate.. oh now he knows alot ..
Jared, you are always so calm and optimistic. I love listening to you and watching the videos. Very calming to me in dark moments
I feel like as soon as a possibility of a crime scene he completely shut down, and was like no. Do they know something we don't? I just don't understand why he couldn't have even called to ask. Keep up the amazing work you guys do!
I thought the same thing. His whole attitude changed, definitely seems suspicious.
It’s because they don’t want to be sued if his body is in there quarry
He probably was the one who did it. Now realizing that he can be caught decided to deny the access knowing he was going to be caught.
That’s a reach considering any big company would want protection against liability. He probably thought he was meeting with someone tied to the police department and when he found out they weren’t, he had rules to follow. That seems more logical, especially considering it will all be on camera. He may have been more likely to break rules if it was a private thing.
@@theloudhouse122 Don't be an idiot...smh
I love watching these guys because they are so respectful to families.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the production quality and how respectful these guys are!

@@Bonzi_Buddy if only people who spent the time to get outraged and try to push society around would get outraged over stuff that mattered like this.
That guy looked suspicious. I think it was because he was worried about some other issue. Local.
🌸
Holy Moly!!!! 21 cold cases solved....already? In such a short time?.
Wow!
Thank you For helping People find closure and Being so Caring!❤❤
I couldn't imagine the reactions if this man was at the bottom of that lake they got denied access to. Unbelievable
I’m so glad you guys still do your part to bring back many lives home. You guys are just incredible. God bless y’all.
I love when the local police are willing to help, provide information and advice.
I agree with you Doug. Something fishes. Bless all of you.
In a situation like this where you are getting the corporate requirement run around, it would be nice to have a local TV station / reporter documenting your search and just by chance mention on the news broadcast that you were denied access to search the area where there is a high probability of finding the individual.
Agreed! 100%
It's very reasonable for a corporation to uphold its standards no matter the circumstances.
And Britain!
@@hyperactivejaz I don't remember seeing Brit there, but he may have been. Thanks for catching that.

When Jared said "Do you know anything about it?" His demeanor changed. It sounded like he was a detective wanting info. I think he became scared at what they would find
Again, amazing, Jared, Jacob & Doug!
I feel that guy at 2nd quarry attitude changed the minute it was mentioned that if car was found with correct number plate it then becomes a crime scene,he seemed to react to that and how the company would react to quarry becoming crime scene.
Agreed

Maybe a national shame campaign would wake them up.
Get on Twitter and give them some "PR.". They'll get bombarded.
I agree with Doug - the complicated hoops we’re just to stonewall you. I agreed with what others have said as well - you said
“… then it’s a crime scene…” and all the walls started dropping. He could see corporate watching the news and their quarry associated with a “crime scene” and imagining his retirement disappearing along with his job.

I'm sorry, but at the second quarry, as soon as he asked if he knew of any dumped cars there. The guys says no you can't come in right now! After he opens the gate for them! Seems kind of fishy to me.
I felt like, if they had just driven in and not talked to the guy, they could have searched.
@@lwk4229 He was wise not to do that. He could be arrested for trespassing if he got caught.
@@yes2day100 Oh for sure, it was the right path, just, disappointing that this guy was a pill.
As soon as Jared said "Crime Scene", and we are done here. Too much information given.
Facts
I didn't feel what they were saying was conspiracy theories, it's a i don't want to deal with all the paperwork if they find something or get hurt, I'll let my higher ups deal with it and let them talk to these people.
The guy Ian was going to let them in until he heard crime scene, he and the company/corporate should be ashamed of them self's!
