This documentary brings you alongside Adventures With Purpose's search, following clues as to Michele's last known location that day, leading to the conclusion that Michele may have been murdered 20-years earlier, after saying goodbye to her children the evening of December 9, 2001.

    CASE DETAILS
According to Smith's then-teenage daughter, her parents' marriage was troubled: both her mother and father struggled with alcohol, they argued often, and there was infidelity on both sides.
She stated her father, after Smith disappeared, assumed she'd simply left.
He claimed she had removed an unspecified amount of money from their bank account before leaving the house that night.
However, Smith's other relatives never believed she would have left on her own, as she was close to her mother and they don't think she would have abandoned her or her three children.
Smith routinely carried a purse containing her wallet, her own Social Security card, and the cards of her children.
About five years after Smith went missing, someone in Cumberland, Maryland used her daughter's Social Security number. This person has never been identified and it's not clear whether this has any relationship with Smith's case.
The circumstances of Smith's disappearance are unclear.

I'm a 65 year old woman, spent my life in Law Enforcement right up to a year ago. I've learned that answers can be tough, but unanswered questions are far tougher. What you guys do, is not only a reminder that caring people still exist in this very cold world, but that there is still hope for the American soul. You are an inspiration to us all. Besides the interesting stories you bring to us, the quality of the videography, the perfect selections of music, are excellent as well. Thank you for all you do, and gratitude to your families that sacrifice so much to allow you to do it. NY GunGranni

If the local agency thinks possible foul play too, why haven't they searched the waters that these guys have? When the husband says “she left me” he would be my first suspect! I don't understand the local agency just giving up. Was the husband pals with the agency? Who had the most to gain from her disappearance? Was their marriage on the rocks when she left to go shopping? Maybe the local agency needs investigation! Run sonar in the yard where the husband lived at the time. That local agency needs to do their job, even if its a tough case. I wonder if that local agency has a history of unsolved cases.

Local agencies probably have the same issues like the other agencies these guys encounter--lack of resources (equipment, skilled divers, skilled detectives, budget, etc.). It's like when these guys find a car, get brushed aside by law enforcement, and have to watch that car get hauled incorrectly out of the water. In my heart of hearts I do NOT think she committed suicide, she loved her kids and mother to much. Hubby "thought" she left because there had been affairs on both sides. She didnt just "leave" her children on her own. Last I heard was a few years ago and it was being assumed the husband had a big hand in her disappearance. I know NOTHING for sure but I've got my thoughts and own info. Its sad my kids were in school with her kids. I cant see and dont see how moms EVERY leave their children.

Or even video surveillance. In 2002 they def had that at all WalMarts. Obviously unless it was kept by law enforcement in their “evidence” room then it would be long long gone. Something tells me there isn’t any “evidence” stored regarding this case & if so it probably doesn’t even fill a shoebox.😔If they aren’t sure she made it to Walmart then their info came from somewhere! I wonder if the family said that or their just putting out possibilities. If that’s what they were told then that really does give a serious question on top of many others to, “why wasn’t that ruled out in the very beginning”

Morning guys. I don’t know anything about this case,so I have some thoughts. Okay, I have a question? Why does the husband think she just left them? Were there issues in the relationship? For a husband to come up with a comment like “she just left us that night”, to me that’s a big red flag, it just doesn’t set right with me, just really makes my spirit uneasy. Maybe you need to check the ponds near the home. Forgive my bluntness. I am 75 y/o, have worked in mental health and LE fields, and this just really bothers me, like I said, it’s not feeling right. As I am watching this, you guys just started discussing foul play, I hear ya and I am with you, she was deliberately harmed.

On that day we all who ever lived will be there to witness the sins of individuals, just make sure you repent from yours before you die and find true faith in Jesus Christ, so he can forgive you your SINS and you can be saved and born again of the Spirit of God and become new CREATION in Christ before you die than you will not be judged on to hell. Seek Jesus Christ with all of your heart and you will find him. One thing I've noticed about a few of your previous videos is that there's more than one that appeared to be a victim of a wrong turn, went down an unfamiliar dark road/driveway trying to turn around and went into the water. For example in this case, just north of your first search area, if she'd gotten into the wrong lane before the bridge she could have ended up going along AL Philpott Hwy where the river running alongside looks much wider, deeper, and with lots of little side streets and sparse guard rails. Being lost in the dark is a hell of a distraction, so the exact route may not be the right route.

When production companies get involved, they want to control too much and might not allow these men to think for themselves. As long as these men have access to show their work, they don't need a production crew. Maybe what they need is more financial backing from big corporations. I see that many help out by their monthly membership, but that can dry out too and the donations are not always consistent.

It really warmed my heart that someone stopped, just in case they were witnessing someone about to jump. I’ve been that person on the bridge, in broad daylight in the city centre and so many people just passed by or commented “you can’t be out there” before they kept walking. ONE guy stopped with his girlfriend and pulled me in at the first chance he got, holding me while his girlfriend tried to comfort me until police showed up and even if I was mad then I’m grateful now, about 15 years later. Just the fact that someone cared, someone who had no reason to, meant a lot.

I’ve not long since subscribed but the help you give the family and friends of those missing is beyond amazing and I’m sure you give hope to those in other countries like mine where there are cold cases and some relating to potential divers needed to investigate. Even if it’s not great news at least they know they’re loved one isn’t there and it opens up other potential areas and hopefully brings someone forward who knows something.

Michele Hundley Smith's daughter believes with her heart and soul that her father wasn't involved... but you can never know what someone is thinking, much less what they're capable of. I will not go into personal details, but there was a similar situation in my life at one point, 45 years ago, when I was a child. And NOBODY would've suspected the individual who planned to do it--a quiet, peaceful, non-confrontational person, clean with no drug or alcohol addiction issues or history, holding a steady job, with stable relationships, who drove a new-ish car, and had no debts.
By comparison, the Hundley family was beset by numerous issues: bad marriage, alcohol and infidelity being the highlights. Not to mention a history of being physically combative. Crimes of passion rely on even smaller triggers than the ones in that list.
The identity theft is really the big clue, here. The child's Social Security card/number was used in 2006, from a Social Security card that disappeared five years earlier. What kind of a thief holds onto a random SSN for that long? The scenario that makes the most sense to me is that the killer kept the purse and its contents as some sort of trophy (or, if it was the father, trying to figure out a way for his kids' cards to "miraculously" appear again), and that person then sold the child's SSN for money (or used it themselves while in financial straits). That mean's someone's finances in 2006/2007 are definitely going to come into play, here.

Agreeing with a lot of commentors, this case has a deep feeling of sadness. It's like there's a whole lot of people who know a lot more than they're saying if no one has ever bothered to look for her. How can someone go missing and there not be an open investigation? You don't need to say much to see the writing on the wall. It's unconscionable if this is indeed what happened to her. I hope that one day the answers come for her family. 🙏

12:14-12:15 you can hear a woman say “Help, let me out” it’s really creepy. Hopefully someone can isolate it to understand it better
