    CASE NOTES
    ================
    Jolissa Fuentes
    Missing Since: August 7th, 2022
    Missing From: Selma, CA
    Sex: Female Height: 5' 3” Weight: 180lbs
    Race: Hispanic
    Age: 22 years old
Jolissa Fuentes was last seen at an AM/PM gas station in the early morning hours on Sunday August 7th, 2022. Jolissa was last seen wearing a white Nike tank top, grey shorts and black Nike slides and captured on AM/PM CCTV driving off in her 2011 Hyundai with California license plate 8MPU766.
Her family believes she may have driven out to a rural area east of Selma, where there are orchards and vineyards, because Jolissa used to spend time there to clear her head after one of her best friends died last year. On the night she disappeared, she had come home from a party and stopped at her grandmother's house to grab some cash and a bag before heading to the AM/PM. They say Jolissa has not contacted anyone and has not picked up her phone since she was last seen, which is extremely unusual for her.
Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

That’s why it’s so important to bring awareness,‘that’s what it does- brings results- of course it takes prayer and the right people responding ,’reacting , and sure-‘be sure that when the angels make movement, the devil will stomp his feet. No good deed goes unpunished, but thankful that doesn’t deter the goodwill of the hero’s moving to bring closure, justice and peace .

It's not coz she's a "POC", it's because the Kiely case is creepy as fuck.
There's plenty of white women and men who go missing that don't get any attention. Blaming race is so myopic. You're not seeing the big picture whatsoever.
There's plenty of "POC" cases that got attention. Elisa Lam for example. It's because that was creepy as fuck.

Like you I hope and pray Jolissa is found one way or the other to bring her beautiful family some type of closure. Sadly I don't think there is anyway to bring justice to Kiely, her family and friends are rude and not forth coming there has been so many many mistakes made by LEO that I honestly don't think anything they find can be used as evidence at this point. Her laptop was found in the lake where LEO rolled her vehicle over to pull it from the water and they refused to get it the same day it was found. Her mother and Jagger calling AWP clout chasers is complete and total BS in my opinion. In the case of Kiely too much is being hidden by LEO, with Jolissa there is a definite lack of LEO response they NEED to do more than they are unfortunately I don't think they care enough to do their jobs at this point.

Now this is what family is... coming together, sharing things about Jolissa, her personality, her habits... things that would help in finding her... it saddens me that LE isn't more forthcoming in what they know or have for information... especially since it doesn't seem like they are doing much by way of searching... the family has no problem doing it themselves... give them the damn information!!! A grim thought here, but have they called hospitals, morgues or even jails??? I say this because it's clear that other LE agencies weren't aware of Jolissa being missing... My thoughts are with Jolissa and her family... I hope that she is found safe and unharmed!!! Thank you AWP for caring about this young lady and her family!

Why do you think they aren't? Is it possible that the two cases are entirely different and thus handled differently? This family is claiming the girl was kidnapped on video but the evidence didn't show that so possibly they are nothing alike and therefore are handled differently and by different departments. Kiely wound up being a tragic accident and this may be the same or perhaps foul play was involved and they can't let any information out to warn the killer.

It's apparent the mission on the channel is expanding from not only search and rescue, but also more detective work and family counseling. There are reasons those disciplines are separated. I'm really shocked that the police hadn't kept the family in the loop properly about Jolissa's movements. Active investigations need active information coming in. If they thought she'd come back into town, then giving the family info about which area of town she was heading towards could have allowed them to tell police who she knows in that area, what places in that part of town might be significant to her. And its crazy the police would waste the resource of the search team that the family had formed by allowing it to look in the wrong place. That doesn't strike me as very professional or very smart.
And why were the police searching the hills if they thought she'd gone back into town. Makes no sense

Realistically, if the PD had an idea that Jolissa was for example, in the hills and the family are out searching in the country, it serves multiple purposes to let them keep searching in the "wrong place"
      1) Keep the family occupied. They are focused on a specific task/area, so not in the way of the police searches or up in their faces asking questions all the time. And they feel like they are actively helping.
      2) They are actually helping because while they're searching another area, they're ruling it out so it means the PD dont have to include that area in their own search as urgently.
      3) It allows the police to monitor the family for suspicious activity, and anybody else that turns up to help. Its well know that perps of serious crimes for example often join in search parties to cover themselves AND to find out information that is being talked about, investigated etc.
      4) it means if the police do find an active crime scene/area of interest there aren't 200 people trampling about all over it, destroying evidence.
      5) The PD are aware its a close knit family/community and they will talk about stuff. They dont want false leads passing their way nor do they want sensitive information going the other way.
      6) They dont want a family member stumbling across anything traumatic. Not good for the family, also doesn't look good for them. Remember also, all the finger pointing in the Brian Laundrie/Gabby Petito case when Laundries family "found" his belongings, while searching etc?
Their aim is to keep the investigation/search as "clean" as possible and sadly that often means excluding the family from certain information and so on.

    • @laurarudolph7451
      @laurarudolph7451 2 года назад +5

I would hope they did not have the evidence of her coming back at that point. I can't see why they would let them waste that resource. Because it ultimately will cost them money in MAn hours so it would only benefit everyone for them to be searching in correct area. I hope I am right.

Because Kiely is a minor and considered a child in the eyes of the public. Placer County being known is another reason.
I understand the frustration being a minority/poc myself, but there is so much nuance to these cases that minimizing the coverage to it being about ethnicity is not accurate.
Although it does happen especially with Native Americans, the media has everything to do with why a case goes national. The media and the public. So, if we aren't being invested in these cases it's either because we are not aware, or we don't care as a society. Those are still not the entire reasons why these cases do not go national, but two major ones.
Also,, I know you mean well and your right in your observations, but I feel bad for the families that did get attention feeling guilty. We can love them all and care for them all.
Maybe we should put pressure on the media?

Because they either suspect someone in the family and or the family is hiding something. The family seems to gloss over the fact that Jolissa has pictures online doing gang signs. And in the ampm video Jolissa does some kind of gang salute after she pays for the blunt wrap. She may have been “raised in the lord” like her mom says Jolissa would not have been out at 3 or 4 am in the morning. The family had a missing relative that was found later. And Jolissa was mourning a friend who was in gangs. Also Jolissa was 22. At 22 most people are dating someone but aren’t necessarily serious about that person and if they are LGBT and from a religious family that would be even more reason to keep their personal life private.

always so emotional watching a family struggle with coming to terms with a missing person - and yet still remain positive while chatting with you guys - i have such mixed feelings, i hope you guys do get to locate this missing girl, but i also have stronger wishes for the family to be reunited - sadly it seems less likely a month or so on after hearing what family say of her never being out of contact - great video and many thanks to the family for sharing - that figure of missing kids every year is so scary, i wonder how many eventually return home?

Families have a right to know and see the information they have. It could help trigger a memory of something like a Convo of a weird person,or encounter. They need to release the cellphone information the more the public knows can confirm a sighting or seeing something but thought nothing of it. People don't look at license plates. She opened her car door really strange like. There should be surveillance of anyone getting into her car while she was in the store! They need to get l.e. to reveal that.

I gotta say I’m not too happy about the LE lack of communication with the family. It seems that they could at least communicate where and when they have searched (at the very least after the fact) and next steps. That apparently seems like too much to ask. I can’t imagine the frustration thus family is dealing with. They need to send someone in the family to be a spokesperson who is not so understanding and demand some answers. There is a lot LE can say while still holding back investigative evidence to keep the family in the loop. It’s time to show a bit of your anger and outrage to those who refuse to speak with you.

I believe that the police departments that really care and make "missing persons" a top priority in their field of work, mainly do this to keep from suspects getting tipped off if there is foul play involved in the case!! Usually when they release alot of information and tips to the family, it could easily get out in public and in the media, which can ruin the investigation damaging any chances of catching the suspect(s), because the suspect(s) would have time to flee or potentially threatening any witnesses that knows what they have done or are involved in some kind of way!! This would push the investigation further back to square one again, so I do understand why they hold certain information from the family, but LE can at least keep the family updated on searches and such!!

@@egyptcree7298 I completely understand that, but I’m a lot of cases all they have to say is we’re investigating possible foul play and can not release any info at that time. It seems like they’ve not out much effort forth on this case given they haven’t really looked into the family even. I hope they get some answers soon any case. My prayers are with them.

As someone who is a car guy and who has seen a lot of strange things in my life, it's a very real possibility that someone could have taken the license plate off the Accent and put a different one on it...and it could be out there, and one of these cars that they have been given tips on could possibly be it. You have to look at the VIN on the car and not just the license plate. Not sure how California works with their registration, but I've seen it a lot in Ohio. Just an FYI and a tip. I've got faith she's out there alive. Keep doing your awesome work guys. Love and prayers and support from Ohio.

The cops do not disclose everything, even to the family, to protect the integrity of the case. They also don't want critical information to get out that could tip off a potential suspect. They also want to do things correctly to be able to prosecute a suspect if need be. Law enforcement always know significantly more than they disclose.

It’s also difficult when the family isn’t truthful. Her mother keeps on saying Jolissa was raised in the lord, and yet Jolissa on fb has pictures doing gang signs.
The family was asked point blank, any gangs? And the family says no and fb has pictures with Jolissa dressed in Red and throwing up signs. On the ampm on footage Jolissa does a gang salute on her way out. No young lady raised in the lord is out a 3am buying a blunt wrap. To be fair Jolissa is at the age when young adults are set up easily when they trust the wrong persons.

AWP were advised they had done searching. She is an adult therefore they do not start a search as they would a minor. If you listened, the police are keeping information close to the chest to avoid information leaking. The family acknowledged that.

Jolissa was found off the embankment at Pine Flat.. Her car rolled and was hidden under trees and bushes. The area where she ended up looks just about like the area you ran into problems with the motorhome. You would not have seen her. I thinks she was intoxicated and maybe a lil stoned who knows and she drove like that there's alot of back roads over here in the outskirts of Fresno like Selma Sanger when you go through the back roads there's no cops no one it's easier to drive there then the high way I live around this area and I take the back roads to get to where ever I need to go, I think she drove to avocado lake that road is sketchy too many curves also in between that drive there's a small village I think someone seen her drive out there and took her just my predictions tho , everything is just to sketchy cuz if she would had crashed they would had found her car or maybe no one has looked closely but if she ended up at the lake someone had to follow her and took her in her car, hoping they find her soon
