Ida, I'm so happy I ran across your videos!... I remember my mom used to make a lot of these dishes, but unfortunately she passed when I was very young and I never learned to make these authentic recipies : (... So thank you so much for doing these videos and teaching people like me!

When I was growing up, this was made throughout the year. I waited long enough for it to be warm and then I just had to have my portion. OMG, sooooo good. I haven't had this in years but now there's no excuse for me to wait any longer. Thank you for the recipe.

Pues gracias…mi abuela que vivia en Río Piedras lo hacía…thanks, I wasn’t shure if the recipe was corn starch or rice flour. She also would make one with milk, gelatin, cornstarch sugar , vanilla and canela.msjes would make a syrup for the bottom and it would flip like a flan but with no eggs.

My madrina use to make this but she added lime rind. Is this the same thing? And we use to eat it warm or cold, also when cold she put it in a meatloaf pan and sliced it when it set. Please let me know if it’s two different recipes or a variation. Thank you

Hi. In my PRican family we call this tembleque and make majarete with cornmeal. Either way this looks delicious!

Magda Martinez Tembleque is made with cornstarch. There's a dominican recipe for majarete that uses cornmeal.

feliz navidad ida that was nice of your mother to think of you to give you those cups it is funny there are many different types of rice pudding my daughters just lost their grandmother from cancer this past july so it is kind of sad because we miss her i was talking to my youngest daughter because her grandmother used to make for her bread pudding rice pudding and peach cobbler but she said no one can make it like her so she does not care for it anymore but as for the rice flour i have some in my kitchen that i got from an indian food store and i have some coconut milk too i may try it
