She has no shame in spite of crocodile tears under questioning. If she had, she would have held her head in shame, kept a low profile and refused the award of a bonus for failure, but she grabbed it and ran. She is a terrible example of a humble, modest and charitable Christian who is also a minister supposedly to lead by example.
That her church put her on the shortlist for Bishop of London after the scandal broke, says much for the incompetence of her religious leaders.

Part of the ‘profits’ she received the bonuses were made up of the money taken wrongly from the postmaster’s money. So yes she should have to pay back the money!

£2million is £50,000 a year for 40 working years equivalent. So we're casually talking about sums that are more than the lifetime earnings of many people reading this.
We need to be careful how we hand over sums like this, from the public purse. Paula Vannell was paid £2,000 per day (£760,000 per year). She oversaw this disaster which will cost US , the public, billions in compensation payouts.... got a CBE for her work, and millions in salary. It's fking wrong. We, the public pay for this at both ends. Her salary plus the cost of the mess she helped create.

It was Fujitsu who had the knowledge and the opportunity to access subpostmaster's accounts and create ficticious "losses". All done under Post Office instructions.

They call it compensation, when they stole their money in the first place, that must be returned before even calculating the compensation on top of that.
Also, since they had no problem sending innocent sub postmasters to jail what's their problem with sending the guilty bosses to jail, and confiscating their money. It's one rule for the innocent, while the guilty might just get a rap over the knuckles - AND they lied through their teeth when accusing the innocents.

I worked for Blue Chip Corporations for close to 40 years, I have been CEO for international Corporations during times of restructure and have overseen and being active in automation architecture. Its clearly without doubt Corporate fraud with intent to meet personnel KPI objectives for personal financial reward through criminality and fraud were rife within the Post Office.

I am an Australian and have been following this story and watched both the documentary and short series on the postmasters. I have also watched the questioning of Paula Vennells in court. Ms Vennells comes across as very sincere and calm during the court questioning and in my opinion attempts to deflect her involvement in this by saying that she was not privy to all the information. This to me seems absolutely ludicrous. Vennells is no one’s fool and is a very smart woman that would have had her finger on the pulse and would have been briefed on all the goings on. One would have to question, even if she was not given all the information why she did not step up when there were hundreds, in fact 600 sub postmasters that were accused of fraud. Surely there must have been warning bells ringing in that very smart brain of hers that there was something amiss with the Horizon System.
I believe she is a very calculating and controlling individual that knew what was going on and the buck stops with her as the CEO.
She should give her bonuses back and if convicted of corruption or other charges should see jail time and be stripped of her assets. After all, that is exactly what was done to innocent sub postmasters. Vennells should be treated no differently. These so called elite, corporate individuals need to be held accountable.

The wages and bonuses that CEO's of big concerns is getting way out of hand. I saw the CEO of British Gas this morning on the news, he said he got over 4 millions pounds in salary and bonuses but he doesn't set the rate. No-one needs this amount a year for doing their job.

The post office should be broken up to be more accountable to the public as we own it. The post office is not fit for purpose. As for the innocent people who were wrongly accused the post office CEO and the board of directors should be prosecuted for perjury. and when convict should be made to return any bonuses they accrued.👑👑👑👑
