    Really like your approach. Seems fairly simple. I’ve looked at several “how to videos” on RUclips for making drawers beneath my work bench and I think I’m gonna have to give your idea a try.

    Simple and effective. I want to do multiple rows of drawers on mine. First need to build the bench lol.

    Good ideas. Just added one to my rolling miter stand. The side supports should have been a bit larger to cover the sides of the drawer that's peeking out. Awesome work!

    1.What are the dimensions of your workbench? 2.How high up from the floor is the shelf? 3.How did you mount to the wall? Thank you...love the drawers!

    • @JohnNascimentoArt
      @JohnNascimentoArt  3 года назад

      Hello John. The workbench is 24" x 96". The top is 40" high, the shelf is at 16" from the floor.
      I made a rectangle from 2x3's, cut 3 legs and screwed them to the rectangle. I then screwed the rectangle to the studs on the wall. Did same for the shelf.
      See my video of making a workbench that was uploaded before this one. Its the same type construction except the workbench is attached to a wall.

    Do you suppose you could make the support pieces for the slides longer and hang two drawers, one on top of the other?

    Are those pieces of wood strong enough to hold heavy drawers though ?

    • @JohnNascimentoArt
      @JohnNascimentoArt  4 года назад

      That would depend on how heavy you are talking about. They hold quite a bit of weigh though.

  • @savagehandzzz3153

    How did you figure where to put the slide on the box??

    • @JohnNascimentoArt
      @JohnNascimentoArt  3 года назад +1

      Hi Willy. You measure to the center line of the slides that you screwed to the side of the plates, you them subtract 1/8" from that dimension, and measure from the top of the drawer to that dimension.
      There are various ways to do this. You could also screw the slides on the drawer first, then measure the distance so you know where to screw them to the side plates.
      It's easy once you get to that step. Cheers!

    Why was the back plate of the drawer 16 1/2"? What was the reason at 1:54? (I am very novice DIYer)

    • @JohnNascimentoArt
      @JohnNascimentoArt  4 года назад +1

      Hi, what I'm showing is an easy way to determine the with of the plate. In this case, the overall with of the drawer was 18", to find out what the dimension of the back and front plate are (it will be the overall with of the drawer, 18", minus the thickness of the two sides), instead of doing the math, you just take the two plates, put the tape measure at 18" and one end and see what the dimension you want is.
