  • Wesley "The Artist" strikes again on @HustlerCasinoLive! This time he's up against Christian Soto in a classic Aces vs Queens scenario. You would think that the board runout would put an end to the fireworks, but when a player like Wesley makes big moves, it's hard to let him off the hook. Every player at the table emulates Wesley's trademark "head down" maneuver as Christian deliberates what to do. Could you make this call?

    • @Dreamagain11
      @Dreamagain11 10 месяцев назад

      Take effective stack and subtract size of pot and divide by 3 if you're trying to do a turn bet+jam.
      So..If you stack is 40 and the size of pot is 10
      (40-10)/3 = 10
      So if you bet 10+10(their call)+10(size of pot) there would be 30 on the river and your stack would be 30 and you would have bet 100% the size of the pot on the turn and 100% the size of the pot on the river.

    • @UndercoverFrog
      @UndercoverFrog 10 месяцев назад

      @@GingePokerYou DO want to bluff with hands that unblock their folds (and block value combos).
      But you shouldn't think about how wesley having Qh has blocker effects on our range since we know our cards.
      You should think about how Qh in our hand interacts with wesley's range so we can eliminate some possible combos he could have.
      If we can eliminate lots of value combos while not eliminating too many bluffs we would have a great bluffcatcher
      In this spot for example since we have Qh we know wesley doesn't have AQhh (so 1 less bluff combo thus percentage of value hands in wesley's range in its entirety is now bigger), which makes our hand a worse bluffcatcher than QQ without a heart for example
      Edit: now I understand what you mean, having Qh blocking some missed FD's in our range makes it not such a great bluff in wesley's shoes. But on the other hand it blocks QThh aswell which is the nuts. So it's not the best one but not the worst one either.

    AA with a heart wants to cbet more often because it has higher equity and is happier to play huge pots on more runouts than AA without the Ah. The non-Ah AA combos are the ones that check more often, because they benefit from waiting for a clean runout before shoveling in money. This is a mistake I see lots of older pros make, because people generally assumed pre-solver era that slowplays should always be hands that need less protection.
    If anyone disagrees, I'd encourage you to check for yourself in a solver. Solvers aren't perfect, but they're very useful when it comes to understanding general suit theory concepts like this. The solver consistently prefers to cbet value hands like overpairs more often when they have the relevant suit, not less often.

      If you’re nitty the dynamic changes drastically. Putting the foot down with a good river price as a bit is necessary. My initial reaction was the same as yours. Chin’s tight, Wesley’s mostly loose, the river bet was a good price. Even the loss of this pot will make opponents bluff chin less, will make smaller C bets, triple barrel at a lower rate. For this one single hand, he was wrong about pumping the breaks, but of course, what’s the number 1 principle behind anecdotal poker decisions…
      -Don’t be results oriented.
      Theory behind the Chin call was totally sound.
