It's very durable! The base of the tent is the case of the tent (800D Nylon) Some customers leave it on their vehicles during camping season, most hang the tent on the wall in the garage - as it's only 25 lbs and is about 48" x 42" x 8".
@@ExpeditionPortal how? it seems like if you leave the poles in the sleeves they would stick out too much and won't let you zip the cover all the way around.
The Rev Tent was designed to be super stable and quiet in high winds. Unlike most roof top tents, the Rev Tent doesn't have plastic lids, or "top hat" style fly sheets to catch the wind like a sail. Most soft top tent owners will remove the fly completely for high winds. The Rev Fly is top to bottom, built in, and won't move or flap in the wind. Hope that helps!
Interesting concept , hope you could have opened it up without a pole setup. You need to field test Badass tenets, some innovative light RTT made in the USA.

The C6 website made me very excited about this.. Until I watched this video. The dealbreaker for me is having to take the bedding out to pack it up. My rig is packed to the max and I literally have no where else to store bedding but in situ in the RTT. I even pack my clothes and extra footwear in there. The next issue is speed. My RTT is open in 10 seconds and packed up in 1 minute, which is very important to me. Just wish it wasn't 200lbs and 84" long 😅
I will admit it is an innovated concept with RTT. The option of either using it as an RTT or ground tent is good. However, I think it takes to long to setup, too many parts to get lost, and may not appeal to those who have been out all day and are tired at the end of the day. Just want a quick setup and get to bed. Easy and quick break down to get rolling in the morning. I can see the Rev Tent may be good as a base camp tent. Yes I have seen them at the Overland Expo West 2022, and a friend of mine won a Rev Tent at the Expo which I had to transport it back home from the Expo, (he was in a car and I had a truck with room to spare). For quality and versatility, I would give it 5/5 starts. Materials 4/5 stars. For ease of use and set up 2/5 stars. Over all 3.5/5 stars. Personally myself, I will not use a RTT or ground tent. That is what My truck is for. Being a disabled veteran. However, at the 2022 Expo I got to see many different style of off road trailers to pull some ideas from to do a DIY trailer or conversion. Cost much less than buying a manufactured trailer and maybe doubled (+) of the cost of a RTT. Good video and review.
Hey Mikell - Thanks for the feedback! Glad you got to see the Rev Tent at the expo. Takes 3 mins to set up on the ground. Quicker than most ground tents - roof top set up is about the same time as traditional roof top tents. If you want one of the "instant roof top tents, you pay a real premium for a few extra minutes of saved set up. And most people wouldn't use a RTT on the ground -- Because you can't, but to have the option of a ground tent with a thick real mattress that you can also use for vehicle roof top camping? The Rev Tent is kind of playing in a different ballgame!
I like the concept. But my purpose for rtt is to deploy quickly and deploy quickly. I don't want to fumble with poles and stakes. I cNt imagine putting in poles why it's up on a rack. I'll pass. Poles need to be in it and be able to close.
Have you set up a traditional soft top roof top tent? The Rev Tent takes no longer and has about the same steps.... 3 minutes on the ground, 5 minutes on a rack, 7 minutes for the roof top version. For the comparable size "1 minutes set up" tents in the RTT space, the others are heavier and on average cost $1000-2000 more, and all you're getting for that extra cost is a thinner mattress, non true 4 season weather resistance, and saving a few minutes in set up! And you're stuck with a tent on your vehicle full time unless you have friends to help remove it or access to a forklift or?? But to each is own! There are many ways to camp!
Would be awesome to have the poles already ready to pop out like a gazelle tent or shift pod

Have you tried it from 0-30 degree weather? Snow?
I just ordered one. We will see how this works with my hardtop Jeep Wrangler. I don’t have a roof rack so ordered the straps and hooks as well.
Im curious as Im now just coming across this tent. Did you happen to get the tent in and if so how's it working it for you?
I would also like to know how it's working out for you
I would like to know as well :)
WHERE DO YOU OR CAN YOU STORE IT, HOW BIG IS IT WHEN STORING??? is it durable enough to keep on roof rack and drive???

Just got mine and can't wait to give it a go!
Is it not possible to leave the poles in the sleeves, and fold it up?
Yes, you can do that. Makes things even quicker.
@@ExpeditionPortal how? it seems like if you leave the poles in the sleeves they would stick out too much and won't let you zip the cover all the way around.
@@TrailRunn4r Good observation! Poles stay in the sleeves, but they do have breaks on each end so they'll fit in the tent when folded closed.
@@c6outdoor interesting I will have to try that
Seems like a great product! Only downside I can think of is that’s it’s only a two person.
Is it worth it and can it sleep 3 possible
No, you can sleep 2 at most
Very cool video!
Very nice,common sense solution
We think so!
Whats it like in the wind?

Was the tent sent to you or did you buy it with your own money?

I’m 6ft I’d like to see someone my size laying down in it
6' 3" tall humans fit fine toe to head without touching the fabric.

You can't have everything😃 although it's fun to try!
@@c6outdoor No doubt! I'm probably going to buy one of your throw-down tents anyway just for guests and backup!
