Ian Dury was just awesome, it's so bad he passed away when he was still relatively young.

Such a tight band, top class musicians led by an absolute genius. So glad that I grew up listening to this.

Saw them at Victoria Halls, Stoke in 1980, fantastic performance. Can't believe more people haven't watch this.

Absolutely brilliant footage. Criminally low views what a band, what a front man. NWR one of me favourite bass players

It is excellent but check out the later Hammersmith Odeon concert. Norman What-Roy had transformed into a real bass monster by then, and of course the irrepressible Wilko Johnson had joined the band by then. 🤘✌

Possibly the greatest live band I've seen. Stiff Tour, right in the middle at the front of a standing audience and about 2m from Ian when he was in the middle of the stage. No barriers or security or phones in the air. Such musicianship, charisma, humour, politics and energy. And then there are the lyrics.

Ian is the best representant of the postpunk wave with this spasticus kind of jumpy style and humour, I love it verry verry much !

I recall watching this broadcast in a TV room at Lancaster University early on the evening of Saturday 3 February 1979 (apparently the performance was recorded the previous December). It still sounds as good.
