My town of 30,000 had every car driving around honking horns - within 15 minutes every flag in town was out screaming, chanting. A lot of hatred was let go that night - 10 years of hate
One thing I love about this video is it hi-lights the 3 cities greatly affected by what Bin Laden did since New York and Washington DC had attacks and the 4th plane landed in Pennsylvania when the passengers fought back. The baseball teams were from NYC and Pennsylvania and then it showed the White House in DC
I worked in Los Angeles and since some of the planes' final destination was LA, all the high rises were evacuated and the workers sent home. Because I worked for LADWP(Water & Power), our crews were kept on call in case we were needed. Everyone knew where they were on 9-11
That game started at about 7 or 7:30 pm. There are nine innings in a normal game and that game went into extra innings because the score was knotted up at 1. It finally ended after the 14th inning. The average game is 3 to 3 and a half hours long.
Remember. When it’s 10 pm on the east coast, it’s 7 pm on the west coast. If the game is being broadcast, they have to pick a time that works for both coasts
I cry every time I see this video. I grew up inside the Mets/Phillies rivalry. To see that put aside, by 40,000 people, during this one great moment, is heart warming.
Great video. It was exiting news on that night. Thanks Amanda. This is another one I had not seen. Thanks again, guys for another fabulous reaction. - Hawk
I watched the press conference when it aired live. I live on a small lake and I could see fireworks on the other side of the lake very quickly. We went outside and most of our neighbors were outside celebrating. At the time it was a bit overwhelming but a great feeling at the same time. I had no idea about the baseball game until much later.
One thing also the two teams playing represent the two communities directly affected by the 9/11 attacks. The New York Mets play in New York obviously but where the game was at, the Philadelphia Phillies play in the state of Pennsylvania where flight 93 crashed
Hey BP2, no, that game started WAY before 9pm, it was already in the 8th inning by time this video clip starts. Games start around 7pm and go on until one team comes out on top after each team has had equal time at bat! There are no ties in baseball.
I don’t know if you’ve ever checked out videos by the fat electrician. Some of his videos are kind of long, but they’re very interesting and it tells the back stories of a lot of military people. Stories that are incredible and you’ve never heard of anyplace else.
My boyfriend at the time was at that game with friends & I was watching live. If I was with him, I would’ve made him leave by like the 7th or 8th inning! A lot of fans left early too because it was a Sunday night. It was only a few weeks into the season, it was a nationally televised game, it started at 8:35pm (they start earlier now) & it was such a boring game. The reason it went on for so long was there were so many guys getting on base but no runs & since it was tied in the 9th, it went on to 14 freaking innings! (1993 Padres at Phillies went on until 4:48am due to rain delays!) Bizarre coincidences: - The broadcaster @ 4:14 was the former Mets manager back in 2001 & was the first game to play after 9/11. - The announcement from the broadcasters was during the 9th inning, in a 1-1 tie (9/11) Also, a lot of fans in that ballpark were personally affected by 9/11.
i remember i was 9 years old when we got the bastard (Sorry God- just being honest) and i remember vividly, hearing random strangers outside my home and we got a knock on the front door and our neighbor was going around knocking on doors handing out little american flags and yelling “God bless america! we got the son of a bitch!” i was young but i was obsessed with the september 11th attacks, i had circled countries on a map where i thought bin laden would be hiding, and it just so happens when i was 8 i circled pakistan. lucky guess lol. anyway, thanks for the reaction guys. God bless and much love!
It’s so weird to me to celebrate the death of somebody but he hurt our whole country so badly along with plenty of other countries and it took so long to find him and unalive him so it was a long time coming
@@chrispavlich9656 I totally agree! I just think about how weird it feels to celebrate a death but he is somebody so evil I felt like it had to be done.
😂 nah just budget just enough to request 3-4 videos a month. I’m disabled so it helps pass my days to enjoy reaction videos and these guys are my favorite reactors. Wish I was a millionaire though 😂

Across the Country, people in public places had similar responses.
This was done very well. Thanks Amanda

I remember seeing it on the news, hard to think it was 13 years ago.

Nothing tore our country apart or brought us closer together than 9/11. I wish we could remember that at this time of division.

No, it didn't start at 9:45. It started at 8:00 pm.
The game started @ 7

When you continually play with fire, you’ll eventually get burnt. In his case, he got toasted.

Amazing what people will believe
