Nadine - you asked the most important question - was Pakistani intelligence helping the U.S.? I think they pretended to be helping - but Bin Laden was basically hiding in Pakistan - right down the street from a government military academy. A revealing detail in this story is that when the U.S. special forces flew into capture / kill Bin Laden - they did NOT alert the Pakistan government that we were entering their country. I think it's safe to assume that the U.S. believed the Pakistan Intelligence was hiding / protecting Bin Laden. Not everyone in this world believed Bin Laden had done something terrible. The Pakistan government had its own interests. But I'm glad you four are on our side. Hope you're enjoying your adventures through the U.S. Thanks for posting this one.
I 100% agree. They were help Bin Laden andBush wasn’t either smart enough to see it or didn’t want to believe Vin Laden was getting tipped off. This went on for several years until Obama came along and didn’t “ask” for permission to go in.
All governments had their own interests and also the ISI and Pakistani military are completely independent from the government and have separate interest and also during the soviets afghan the lower ranks of the ISI was filled ethnic Pashtuns and the ISI feared if they commit to any hostile rhetoric with Afghanistan they may intervene as the ISI had worked with many Mujahadeen during the soviets afghan war and many isi officers had close ties to the Taliban do to years of aid

Even on one of the most secure bases in the world. I actually have a video on RUclips showing you around the base.
I'll echo what some others have said in the comments already: Watch the movie Zero Dark Thirty. It illustrates how difficult it was to find ObL and why it took so long to find him, and how the raid on his compound took place. It's very compelling and very well done. Maybe watch it without the kids present first, because it's somewhat harsh (although not in a gratuitous way).
Great video! You might like a movie such as "Zero Dark Thirty", which is the cinematic story of the hunting, finding, and killing of bin Laden. From mainly the CIA perspective. Oh, and you're right about Guantanamo Bay. It's an old U.S. base in Cuba, pretty much in disuse by the military, but used extensively by the CIA. They've taken lots of people there for interrogation. "Enhanced" interrotation. Thanks, again, and God bless you!

Sam, you got the answer correct for Nadine's question--Guantanamo Bay is on Cuba, and I believe it's a tiny spot at the east end of the country--a very unique US Army base. Yes, the boat lift story is an amazing one. However, did you ever see the related video of a small town in Canada's island of Newfoundland that received multiple passenger jets when the worldwide order to empty the skies of all traffic ASAP was given? They fed and housed, on the spur of the moment, several thousand people for more than a week. It's an amazing story.

Since this is your newest video I hope you see this. Also, since you seem to enjoy American history I thought you would enjoy seeing and reacting as a family to how some of us Americans remember our history. The you tube title "Revolutionary War Reenactment: Battle of Germantown 2015" is about a battle fought on October 4, 1777 and is about 10 minutes long. Also, it is important to know that the house in the video is the actual house from the original battle 245 years before! This was the very first place I reenacted when I was 12 years old (back in 1991).
The interrogation tactics that were used and eventually came to light happened at Abu Ghraib in Iraq. GITMO immediately stopped those tactics when several humanitarian organizations started reporting on the abuses. There is so much more, but GITMO was not the only one.

That's correct, but we signed a semi-permanent lease for the base, after the original Cuban revolution against Spain, but before the current government. So, the Castro (and post-Castro) regime want it back, but we said 'no thanks'.
As an American who was just barely old enough to remember watching the towers fall on television, hearing "who is Osama bin Laden" was a shock to the system. Haven't watched the video through yet but even more interested to see how he'll react to more info about it
Guantanamo Bay is a U.S. military base/prison in the Southeast of Cuba. It is a super controversial topic in American politics today because of the inhumane treatment of prisoners, a statement echoed by the EU, Leaders of Muslim countries, Amnesty International, and more.
September 11, 2001 was my 11th birthday (yes I was born in 1990). I was supposed to get a Game Boy Advance back then after school but everything was shut down. Don't recall my school telling the class about it which was odd, unless my memory is foggy. I just remember coming home and being asked "Joey did you hear what happened?" Being my 11th birthday I'll never forget. It seemed such a normal, beautiful end of summer day here in Virginia.
Recently took my first international trip out of the US with my family. I told my grandmother who hasn't flown internationaly since before the 9/11 attacks that travelling out of the US is way different then travelling within. It took us maybe 10 mins to get past security landing in London Heathrow and roughly the same amount leaving London to fly to Paris. Coming back took like an hour to get through customs and we didn't even have anything to declare and we were in the handicap wheelchair access line which was way shorter than general admittance.
The shear magnitude of info in the intelligence world is overwhelming. It takes time to verify, by then, things have changed. Definitely check out more on the process of how OBL’s location was verified. Extremely high tech tools coupled with human interpretation. IE: Drones filmed the compound and measured shadows to establish heights of the people there. OBL was well over 6’ tall so extrapolate the shadows gave critical info. 👍
I was in my mid 20's when 9/11 happened. I remember exactly where I was when it happened and I remember exactly where I was when I learned of bin Laden's death. It's kind of crazy to think that it's been over 20 years and I can still recall it like it was yesterday.
This video serves as a reminder and ties together what we lived day-to-day for all those years. It's a perfect explanation to a Utuber who upon watching the video of the killkng of bin Laden, asked, why didn't you arrest him? 😮
The funny thing about this is that when they actually went into the compound to get him, a neighbor about 1/4 mile away posted to twitter about the noise and lights being on. It was the raid happening. Literally broke one of the most important news stories by accident over twitter.

@@Sam-pv7bd It was all confirmed by Seal Team Six members. The interrogations were questioned, but the only criticism the movie got was implicating the success of finding Bin Laden from the use of illegal force (water boarding, etc.). 95% of the movie follows the events exactly.
My cousin was involved in the finding of Osama . Thank goodness! My mother in law was on a plane coming home from London at the time on 9-11 . All we knew was that the planes fly # was 11. We didn't know if it was longer but thankfully it was. They turned her flight around and she had to stay in London for another 3 weeks. It was a crazy time but we finally got her back home.

I was on the local fire department at that time. One of our firefighter's mother was supposed to be on the flight but canceled. She was killed 5 or 10 years later by a drunk driver.

Yay another video. Can’t wait to see the trip vlogs but I love what you have in the meantime.
Do you know Jesus is a messenger of God
The most important thing to remember.... Over 2000 humans were murdered that morning.
Yep. From dozens and dozens of nationalities. It wasnt just an attack on us, it was an attack on the entire western civilization. It makes me mad when ppl try to make excuses for evil and act like they had legit reasons for such scumbaggery.
And over 400,000 civilians were murdered in the middle east as a result of the actions of a few...
Let's not forget the london attacks in 2005 . 😢
And countless others who died later from cancer, PTSD, etc. Such a tragedy. What I do remember as well, was we truly came together as neighbors and a united country. You couldn't find an American flag to buy because they were already flying on everyone's house, yard, vehicle, and business. The beautiful songs that were written and sung was heartwarming as we came together and remembered all the innocent lives lost.
@@brendasmith1533 thank you for remembering us veterans. we do sometimes get forgotten in all of the numbers wrapped up in the tragedy, so when someone remembers us, it matters.
Happy I decided to stay up a little later than usual because now I get to watch this!
Exactly! Pakistan knew he was there, but spoon fed info to keep US at bay.
The Pakistani government motivation being the $500 million per year the U.S. government was giving Pakistan to assist in “finding” Bin Laden.
I don't believe anything they tell us about that day. They tried to get us believe that they found passports but couldn't recover the plane's black box.

I was working in Guantonomo Bay, Cuba in 2003 for 81 days. I was working construction but whenever the prisoners from 9/11 arrived on base... you knew. The security for the transport was insane.
The naval base is still there and in use by the navy. It's the main base for the Carribean (outside of the prison and various on going tribunal cases)

If you enjoy American history, from beginning to end, I highly recommend "The Fat Electrician." Nick is basically a walking historian. Parents first, watching his material. He's a former service member, he uses colorful language. However, he teaches in a way that the younger generation identifies with. He has children in the US write him for help on book reports. If you all are interested.
The movie “Zero Dark-Thirty” is a very good description of those events.
America didn’t “invade Afghanistan.” It was an international coalition of nations led by the U.S.
let’s get some facts into the picture.
And I am not sure that a self-defense action can be labeled an invasion.
If that's not an invasion
Then Russian attack on Ukraine is not an invasion
What facts?
US drives the nato and their country is permanently under US occupation of it's invasion
Like US did in Iraq

Guantanamo Bay is in Cuba. It is Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
Good on him for not being afraid to ask though, and its good he already had some context to understand.
My Grandpa was in Guantánamo Bay as a prisoner for sometime

He wasn’t “allegedly” behind the attacks. He was the mastermind. Big difference.
Love your family! These videos are great! ❤ much love from Palm Beach Florida USA
Plenty of Americans were NEVER okay with the US using torture. It's shameful, and it is never okay.
Gosh darn it, I wanted to see the whole video play out 😂
There’s a movie about the timeline of events called Zero Dark Thirty. Worth a watch
Ya'll should watch and react to the film Zero Dark Thirty. All about the investigation and raid.
I was in my mid 20's when 9/11 happened. I remember exactly where I was when it happened and I remember exactly where I was when I learned of bin Laden's death. It's kind of crazy to think that it's been over 20 years and I can still recall it like it was yesterday.
There's another video done by someone else that does a good job of explaining the raid on the compound
I was a Senior just about to graduate high school when they announced Bin Laden's death. I liked watching the blast of the past with the American news/history in this video
