I've been a security contractor overseas for quite a number of years. I had a Project Manager who was retired from ST6. What an amazing individual he is. The training he gave us quite literally save some of our lives and that of our client. Nothing that he was forbidden to teach, but still above our level of previous training. He is a leader, a professional, a mentor, and I am honored to, to this day, call him my friend, as we communicate relatively often. It's probably too long for them to do a video with but I agree. Parts of this isn't accurate. Her talking about what happened is pretty emotional and not the same as it was told in this video. It is totally worth watching.
A very good friend of mine was a member of Seal Team 6 for 20 years. He will always be a SEAL, and he loved it. But he will also always carry physical and emotional scars for the rest of his life. If anyone remembers the old guy Rudy on Survivor, that is who trained him. Rudy, at 60 years old, did everything he demanded them to do, and if they messed up and had to do it over again, Rudy would do it over again too. He was a tough old guy. As a US veteran, it makes me so proud to know that our special forces can and will do amazing rescues and operations when called upon. Most of the operations SEAL teams go on, are unknown to the average citizen.
I agree the 60 minute interview where she tells the story is great and makes me emotional. She never thought they were coming for her because she was just one person.

When kidnapped and worried that it is all over, praying someone rescues you, it is comforting to know those prayers of Jessica's were answered, quickly, and efficiently, by experts...going to order the book now... and Love to you guys, America's favorite NZ Family
As a side note. The helicopter that took Jessica from the scene is at the Seal Museum in Ft. Pierce FL. It's a great museum if you have the chance. They also have the Cap. Phillips life boat there.

9:14 you've nailed it on the head. America sends in rescue teams when it's "higher percentage of success" otherwise it can be pretty long before anything happens. We've had kidnapped citizens in China, Russia, and North Korea and we haven't gone to get them. We have however sent our own military to their deaths and traded valuable prisoners for rescuing US citizens who were traitors to the country or just being stupid (bowe bergdahl, brittney griner), those times are always controversial.

As many have already said, you should really watch the interview of Jessica Buchanan. It's much more emotional (not that this wasn't emotional on some level, but it was more on the technical side) and gives her perspective of what happened.
Jessica in another video talks about her return. The United States government offers hostage reintegration program. The first time her and her husband met it was for only five minutes and it was controlled because anything else would have been overwhelming for her. also she had to do counseling to regain her confidence and the ability to make decisions for herself because the bandits controlled every move she made for three months
Lately my algorithm has been putting these type of videos in my feed and let me just say, watching your family’s reaction to the good of America brings tears to my eyes. Our country is so up its own ass with make believe problems and people trying to tear it apart, seeing the appreciation of our core values warms my heart. We are not perfect, our goverment doesn’t represent the people but actions like this and countless others represent the PEOPLE, of our great country. We are good, and just no matter what labels and make believe issues are pushed. As an American thank you for reminding people how outstanding the good we do is. And also your kids are smarter than most of our Ivy League grads because they have common sense.
An elder of my family was in the pacific theater of WWII. He was a combat vet which means that he was on the front lines of combat. He never talked about it. One night we watch a show about the the largest island country..Australia. Dad said that the Australia military was difficult to keep up with. He finally asked an Aussie why they were so fanatical. The reply was, "We Dont want to speak Japanese." That means they are a global force on their own. My dad was a good man.

Negotiation with terrorists has always been ANATHEMA in the U.S.A. "Rewarding someone for doing something," says Nadine. Never pay a terrorist. Right on!
The U.S. tradition of non negotiation with terrorists, dates back to shortly after the founding. It began when pirates captured a U.S. ship and took the crew hostage. The U.S. sacrificed the sailors when the U.S. attacked the pirate port and fortress located on the shores of Tripoli, in Libya. They couldn't rescue the sailors, but they did burn the U.S. ship that was captured. The attack ended the harassment of U.S. flagged ships, by the pirates.
Unless they have oil. Then they can send 14 people to knock down the Twin Towers or send a few to dismember journalists from a US Newspaper. Don’t believe the hype.
Wholeheartedly agree! No negotiations with terrorists. However, this video has me little bit confused. Didn't the narrator state that the terrorists were offered $ 1,5 million USD? Doesn't that in and of itself mean negotiations? I hope that offer was only a ploy to bide time.
I think we (US population) forget that actual men and women make up the military. We have to ask ourselves, "Can I do what they do?". I'm grateful to have those men and women serving. I wish our country did a better job at taking care of our military men and women when they come back home

2 of the best Navy Seal stories or moments in my opinion are Lone Survivor and American Sniper. Lone Survivor is about a Seal Team of 4 people get brutally ambushed with only 1 member making it out alive. They made a movie about it. Then the most well known is American Sniper which is about the worlds best sniper on the seals that had the most confirmed kills. It’s sad because he retires to spend more time with his family only to lose his life at a firing range where he helped teach disabled kids to shoot.
@@darthrevan1712 you are correct on both counts. Chris Kyle was the best sniper in *American* history and died at a firing range trying to help a fellow veteran. He has 160 confirmed kills out of his 255 claimed. Simo Hayha, a Finnish sniper during the Winter War in 1939 is credited with being the "world's best" in terms of kill count, over 500.
Thank you for being such a positive force on RUclips. Your joy and the way your family interacts is really cool. I'm sure you have ups and downs, but always showing your joy gives me hope. 👍

Within days they had actionable intel on how many people were in the compound(s) and when it was best to execute. They also had multiple teams training and seal team six came out with the best outcome so they were selected. The covered faces are because those members are either still active or play a major role in training active service members and their identity needs to be kept safe.
As a American Navy Veteran. We do that with either Seal team 6or our Army Delta Force because the next time someone want to take an American hostage they have to think that we have people that can go anywhere in the world and get our people from them.

My New Zealand Family, what I love the most about you is that I have learned as much, or even more, of my own country through your videos! I love my country very much! And I love you just as much because as New Zealanders, you have as deep a love for America as I do!

The bravery of everyone involved is why we stand, face the flag and cover our hearts for the anthem
This was the correct response! However, we as citizens must realize that we bear some responsibly for our own security too!

I think it is also really cool how quickly personnel were mobilized and aware of the situation, aware and keeping track of US citizens when abroad. When kidnapped and worried that it is all over, praying someone rescues you, it is comforting to know those prayers of Jessica's were answered, quickly, and efficiently, by experts...going to order the book now... and Love to you guys, America's favorite NZ Family
Her recount of the events that night needs to be seen. It really shows what that level of tactical advantage and training looks like to a civilian

Stories like this being tears to my eyes and chills to my body and make me proud to be an American
I love your family, I watch all of your podcasts, videos. I look forward to your videos, no matter how long it takes I am happy to watch them.
I remember she visited my school in West Virginia and we got to listen to her tell her story in person and speak to us
As a side note. The helicopter that took Jessica from the scene is at the Seal Museum in Ft. Pierce FL. It's a great museum if you have the chance. They also have the Cap. Phillips life boat there.
God bless those men for that rescue.
Is video is a perfect example of why we are so proud of USA. American flags are displayed everywhere to show the pride we have for USA. We have some much pride for our American soliders. Seal team 6 put their lives on the line to save a fellow American. When the solider present Jessica with the American flag and welcomes her home it brought me to tears. I am proud to be American!!
I love this channels videos, so wholesome and you add to the great videos without distracting from them. Well done! Cheers from New York.
Love you guys. Can't wait till y'all visit us
Love your family clip. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching this family spend time together. Not a single cellphone in site. This is a real family.
You need to watch the video where she is interviewed and tells the story in her own words. It's great.
Jessica's interview just takes your breath away. Please look it up.
hollering at you from north carolina. we love you guys. glad you are showing what happens in the real world to ur children. latter on in life they will be thankful. you guys have a great family. dont be scared to show them the bad side of society. props to you . many blessing to you my new zealand family
You need to watch her video of this…it puts you right there with her through it all.
Wow, I haven't seen that. Do you know the title?

My dad was a good man.
now they'll do whatever they're told.
Their government will be telling them to speak Chinese soon and they'll gladly do it.. lol...
What does this have to do with the video?
@@ShuganuttzIt's combat related, unless you mean to the antagonist in the comment section.
@@Shuganuttz agreed. irrelevant. Kiwis and Aussies i've met don't appreciate being associated with one another.
@@Shuganuttz it’s just a stereo typical American that doesn’t really know much about anything outside of America not knowing the difference between New Zealand and Australia.
Love our Service men and women. God bless them.

I know you won’t want to post two videos of the same story but it’s worth watching the 60 Minutes episode of the rescue. Definitely the best telling of the story. 🤙🏻
My high school sweetheart, and still my best friend to this day, is a U.S. Marine who served in Iraq. He saw and experienced things during the war that he still doesn't talk about. He's the best human I know, and I'm immensely proud of him and feel incredibly lucky to know him.
Your video was a masterpiece! The way you engage your audience is remarkable. Keep up the great work and keep us entertained
I used to rock that same Santa Cruz hoodie in high school in 91! Still looks cool today man
I'm a u.s. marine corps vet. We have a saying . One for all. All for one. It doesn't matter the odds for you're personal safety. You do what is necessary to keep each other safe against any threat. Being an an American also means that I'm given the honor to protect those that don't have to live under my flag but simply value the same thing as us. That is peace and equality. Unfortunately that requires violence byen like me to step in to create that so bad men don't rob you're beautiful family or mine of just that. It may not make much sense to you or your family but I would gladly lay my life down to protect you and yours. If something unfortunate we're to happen to me. They would understand and be proud. I apologize for the long message. God bless you and your family and keep you safe. -paul.
My wife and I love watching your channel, and look forward to seeing your family. We like Atlanta 's kitchen so much, I can't wait to see what she makes she makes when she gets to Alabama on her list. Blessings from Brenda and Wendell Bunn from empire alabama.
The 60 minutes interview is where she tells her store and her feelings.
Remember every minute of it. Every American’s heart was with them!
There’s a video of Jessica herself telling this story....the story is far better coming from her herself.
Absolutely - it's a great narrative from Jessica and you should do a follow up with it.
Jessica’s brother was so motivated and inspired by the rescue he joined the army and became a special operator. So cool.
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY SIR. I HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A VERY GREAT TIME. THANK YOU SO VERY VERY VERY MUCH FOR COMING BACK ON. PLEASE KEEP UP ALL YOUR SHOWS SIR. I LIKE TO SEE MORE OF THE COOKING AND SOMEBODY'S COMING IN AND STEALING A TASTE.

Good job guys.
Sadly except for when we negotiated with Putin and gave Russia back the Merchant of Death.
@@caliber693 Sad but true.
1000% agree, Jessica's interview is great and the 60 minutes interview.
I think we (US population) forget that actual men and women make up the military. We have to ask ourselves, "Can I do what they do?". I'm grateful to have those men and women serving. I wish our country did a better job at taking care of our military men and women when they come back home
A GREAT PROPAGANDA FILM FOR PRES OBAMMY!!
@jamesallen8785 idk what this comment has to do with mine. I didn't even mention government, political affiliation, or the actual video.
I hope you know you're part of the fucking idiots who decide to play this game the g0v has the country playing. Conservatives say they're right and the liberals think they're right, which is how they want it. Divide and conquer. Oldest trick in the book
I thinks its adorable how the kids look so much like their parents. The daughter could be the mothers past self, from the way they sit and watch the videos to the way they react as well.
I thought he was only the best in the US? Also, I thought he died at a firing range teaching disabled vets? Or is that just the movie version
@@sykosocial Okay, that's what I thought hahaha. But didn't want to spread false information

Definitely agree that the ‘60 Minutes’ interview of Jessica and the rescue from her point of view is totally worth watching.
This was good BUT watch the 60 minutes interview with Jessica...hearing the story from her point of view was incredible. This was a promo for Seal Team 6 (who are the best) but Jessica's version of the story is much better.
This video is a boat load of lies compared to Jessica's story and her book.
@@savannah505 I agree
The SAS are the best special forces in the world.
I love my country sooo much. Proud Veteran and American.
Nice video and reaction. What a harrowing experience for Jessica and the other guy. Great ending to the story.
Within days they had actionable intel on how many people were in the compound(s) and when it was best to execute. They also had multiple teams training and seal team six came out with the best outcome so they were selected. The covered faces are because those members are either still active or play a major role in training active service members and their identity needs to be kept safe.
They blur their faces out because they’re still active seals. Not until they retire will their faces be shown.
i saw jessica give an interview on her rescue & it was mesmerizing. these seals, delta force, rangers, green berets are a special breed of men.
you definitely should react to more military videos. they're vary entertaining!
The 60 minutes interview that has Jessica talking about that day is so much better.

As a American Navy Veteran. We do that with either Seal team 6or our Army Delta Force because the next time someone want to take an American hostage they have to think that we have people that can go anywhere in the world and get our people from them.
