A PM for Markus, don’t listen to those people just smile and move on! I love your videos because they reverse the influencers sheep like influence! so Keep the passion and your karma will always be positive my friend! Thank you for the channel it’s awesome 👏🏻
I'm casually researching consumer camcorders and I've watched a few of your videos now. I just wanted to compliment your talent in conveying a ton of information in a short amount of time, in an entertaining and visually informative way. So many RUclips product reviews are a real chore to watch, I find myself skipping ahead, etc. But the videos of yours I've seen are a real pleasure to watch. I wish more product reviewers had your talent for communication and editing! cheers
I'm amazed at how good today's technology has become. I'll bet if you made a full length feature film using that camcorder, a good story, and proper lighting, few would ever guess that it was made with a simple consumer camcorder.
I shot a FOX Television Special with that camera. I made a RUclips video showing the results. My video was taken from over a 500 foot distance and handheld and the 5 axis stab worked flawlessly.
I want a camera to film TV reports and small documentaries, in a personal way, that I can do alone without depending on other professionals. My style is spontaneous interviews, with the camera in my hand. I'm seriously considering this camera, reading your comment encourages me more to do so. Where can I see the material you shot for FOX? thanks!
I'm so glad to see you covering all aspects of video and photography, not just the big expensive stuff but also the affordable but great cameras. The results are what counts and you are showing us how to do it with affordable camcorders.
Nice camera and advice as usual… but that audio!!! I know you do talk about it, but every once in a while, your videos stand out as so very much better than anyone else’s because of your great audio clarity and broad frequency response. Never harsh and never muddy.
That is the very good point. As Markus spends effort for his content by the experience and for the result. He is not copying what everyone else is doing, like have the color lighted backgrounds and have specific setup where to do videos etc. He does it well by knowledge and experience. Just alone his reasoning to why he chooses X over Y etc is fresh to always listen and see. As he doesn't just jump to hype something latest new thing without ever putting it in the context and the practical reasoning why!
I purchased this camcorder after watching several of your vids and other comparisons and I have to say I haven't been disappointed at ALL. I love this camera! The colors are absolutely phenomenal!
@@highcountryoutdoor That will power off the device in my experience but that may be something that could change in the settings? I haven't explored that.
The Farmers Market video is beautifully done. Cara looks amazing, her gorgeous hair steals the show. But now that you mention it, you're right, the vegetable and fruit colors really pop.
You're the man. Dropping knowledge. I've bought so many of these for my av program. Great replacement for the Vixia. I still love 3 rings on big boy cams.
For it's price point, I would say so. It has a night mode, but I've never used it. The zoom certainly exceeds expectations and the color auto-adjustment is quite nice. I find the v785 a bit light weight though, so hand-held stabilization takes some getting used to. But overall it's a really fun camcorder to use. @@TheyCallMeJesse
Wow those untouched shots do look really good. Thanks for showcasing all these cameras that we normally wouldn't see. This beats the "Just get a A7 SIII or FX3 videos"
Hey Markus. I’m one of the commenters on the Pocket 3 video that was removed (my comment could have contributed to the removal) and I just wanted to say I like hearing a different perspective on things which is why I’ve been watching since I saw your pocket 3 videos. I may be looking for different things and I may not always agree but echo chambers are boring so keep doing what you’re doing.
Thanks. I love the animations. The colors were excellent. The lighting was great. The audio was great. What more could a RUclipsr need? Well lots of stuff ya, but this was a great video shot on pro-sumer gear with great skill.
Weird. I was just watching your comparison vid from like a year ago I think of this and the sony and was convinced to get one of these and now you're making another video. Really is pretty astounding the quality and features you get for less than the GoPro these days
Mr. Markus, I've always been a semi-fan of Leica and that Panasonic VX981 I believe has a LEICA Dicomar lense (if I recall correctly). Thanks blowing the dust off of it and sharing the results and your thoughts on it.
@maspreguntas9796 IT has IR night vision which works well if you have an IR flood light or on camera light, for the grey/green video, for regular video, low light is pretty bad on this camera.
Great video, I am thinking about getting the VX981 because of a couple of your videos about it. I just can't get over your house!!! that library room is amazing!!
The 53 has a smaller sensor and weighs a LOT more than this Panasonic. You would be amazed how lightweight this thing is. Sony colors are more blue in the face also and more clinical looking. And you can't get the blurry background like with the VX981 ruclips.net/video/ENO3xRN1UsU/видео.html
Camcorders are great. And you can record as long as the battery lasts without error messages or billows of smoke coming put of the back. Still use my 12 year old Panasonic SD900 for emergencies.
Nice. I just took my VX981 to a shoot with two models and a bunch of exotic cars along with my new iPhone 15 Pro Max a few days ago. The iPhone blew the 981 away in every way imaginable. Returning the 981 tomorrow.
So glad you and a few other people recommended this Panasonic camcorder. Got one off of eBay for super cheap, and it's so nice! Got some amazing footage of some performances with it already.
Just found your channel. Huge respect. Extremely inspiring! By the way, would you care to share in which country is this beautiful property located (Seychelles/Vegas)? Would love to go for vacation with my family there. Keep it up Markus,
I have one of Panasonic's compact point-and-shoot "travel zooms", the ZS-50 with 30x zoom.. and although I'd say the video lacks detail while being 1080p, I absolutely love the color sscience this camera applies to the footage out-of-the-box.
I think it would be great for traveling, low risk of it getting stolen since people might think its a cheapo camera, but still really good video output!!
I love the animations too. I did fall in love with the one with the music, but I absolutely love seeing the other mini cartoons. I need to figure out how to do something like that with a Squirrel and some pistachios or even just acorns falling in a pile on him. Lots of ideas in my mind, just trying to learn how to do all of them takes time of course lol.
Hi Markus from the uk, thanks you for reminding me how wonderful and easy to use camcorders are. They are so naturally easy to use, and packed with so many features that are still relevant today. My favourite HD camcorder is the Panasonic SD900 (2011) so far I have owned 6 of them, sold the last 2, which I used for interview work last year. Then I got 2 osmo pocket 2 cameras because of the 4k. Then, after you remind us how great they are, I picked up another SD 900 for £160 on ebay. I'm sure that the footage is more than good enough for most situations. Did you ever mention what editing software you use? I switched to wondershare filmora, a beautifully easy to use 4k editing software. Can't wait till the SD900 get's here, Once again Markus thanks for the reminder. Tony
I have been deciding for a while for a camcorder to use for some wedding work and I think your videos have helped me decide. I was looking at the Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 but that does not have stabilization in 4K - I think its going to be the Panasonic HC-VXF990EBK - which as you know is the same as the VX981 but with a viewfinder - thank you for this video
The very first camera I bought to start making videos was a used little Panasonic camcorder I found in a pawn shop. $40. It’s back home in my closet now and I don’t even remember the model. A year later I found another small Sony camcorder to use for shots on the targets I was shooting. Both did great and I still have them, but now with 4 Sony mirrorless DSLR type cameras and a bunch of other lenses, I don’t use the camcorders anymore because both were only 1080P and I shoot mostly in 4K now. But a 40 dollar camcorder started it!
I just bought this camera. It seems like the best bet for a sub $1000 camcorder. Good picture quality with great ease of use. My wife is having our first baby soon, and there were a ton of memories around my dad and his camcorder. Looking back on those home videos is nestalgic. I want my kids to have that option. This keeps the focus on recording. I am too busy experiencing life to think about pulling out my phone, but having a camcorder that is like built in focus...
Loved the colors throughout! How does the stab compare to the AX 53 (which I love for the zoom and stab)? It did look a little more bouncy, but maybe just moving camera quickly. . Great energy as always! Update… just watched the food market video…great colors and fun!
I've used both cameras: The Sony with the BOSS system is not as good as the Panasonic 5-Axis system in full zoom. The Sony mechanical gimbal will turn off when the battery gets low and won't work correctly if you don't use an original Sony battery.
Hey Markus, would you compare the Panasonic VX981 with the HC-V785? The latter seems to have a same-sized sensor as the VX981, but on amazon, is listed as $413 vs nearly twice that for the VX981. Keep up the great work you do in sharing your love of photography and videography! Thank you so much!
The difference between the two seems to be that the VX981 has approximately 19 megapixels of sensor resolution while the 785 has approximately 13 megapixels. The VX981 also has a Leica Dicomar lens while the 785 does not. But I'd still like to see Markus make a review of the 785 and compare the two.
One difference I did see too, is that the 785 only provides 1080p HDMI output at best, while the 981 is able to provide 2160p *under the right conditions*, which include the receiving device being able to handle it's particular flavor of video.
She is beautiful and will look great no matter what! And you Markus.... You are a nice guy 😃. The funny thing is you are living in a roomy house that seems to be full with stuff 😅
Image quality is great. I love shooting on DSLR's but the footprint on it is just insane. It's a huge setup to carry around. I've got a SM agency where we film small businesses and also go on tons of holidays with the kids. Having the DSLR is great, really good quality images, but it's hard to lug it around all the time.
Markus! I'm loving these camcorder videos man. I haven't commented on the others (sorry) but I'll go do it today!! Thanks for making so many days feel great :)
Thanks a lot for putting in the effort to give an expert revirw of these cameras and camcorders. In one of your videos of taking pictures with camcorders, you showed pictures from Panasonic V800 to be good enough. If you would please do a review of Panasonic V800 for video and stabilization at zoom, I'd appreciate it a lot and buy you coffee whenever we meet 😊😊
Hi Markus, I've noticed that you're an expert with camcorders. I'm planning to film a 2-3 hour long walk-and-talk video at an indoor dog show event in a large exhibition hall. I want to do this continuously without worrying about overheating, constantly changing batteries, or ending up with poor video quality. Additionally, I'd prefer not to lug around a super heavy camera the whole time. Could you recommend a good camera for this purpose? It would be great if it had a bit of optical zoom as well. Thanks in advance for your advice!
What great energy you have Markus! Thank you for the great information in your videos - I am learning a lot. It's a pity you didn't write or mention the type of light you were using. :-(
@@MarkusPix Oh!.. I profusely apologize! I somehow managed to miss it even though I rewatched the video for the second time searching for exactly that info! P.S. Weirdly I didn't get the notification about your comment (I just rechecked and yeah, it is really missing) and encountered it by accident. Thank you for amazing knowledge and energy you are sharing with all of us!
Just watched your movie after reading your book. I know you’re more into still photography than narrative film but would love to see you make a short just with the camcorder and light. Maybe?
You got me sold dude. I just got 2 camcorders - a retro looking one (Sony SR68) and a decent quality one (Sony XR500V) and looking to buy more... targetting a handy prosumer one. The price is like buying a mirrorless body but it comes WITH all the zoom you ever need. So yeah, SOLD on camcorders.
By "vlogging" I assume you mean walking while talking? With a small selfie stick it would work, but I never do that. I always do my vlogs with a camera on a stand, it's much less annoying for everyone.
Thanks for your shares _/\_ I wanted to share with you... I recently got into vintage digital cam world... I tested one camera randomly and found out that I got results which are not advertised on any site I can find, so it had a hidden feature perhaps with some really sophisticated software onboard... on one old camera with 60+ optical I got a 500x zoom feature which I have found to be pretty astounding in quality!!!, which I believe matches the Nikon p1000 with 4x digital zoom, down side is the format of the picture is VGA, but the quality is striking and refined I found for distance photos. I also found a camcorder with 70x optical zoom which has 3000 digital zoom... interesting for scoping out the distance, both were relatively cheap, obviously not for quality but for practical purposes, I also got a 3d camcorder the ViewSonic VC3D2 which I got for 10's instead of 100's or 1000's , and a gorgeous 35mm Nikon Nuvis S - there is amazing stuff out there! Thanks for your artistic work... it's so aesthetic! I can learn a lot more now! _/\_ have a great week all
your amazing person i gonna get one of that i just bought sony cx 405 after watching your video so far i love it great recommendation thank you muchos gracias😊👍
How do I get inspiration to continue this video/photograph hobby? I feel like I ran out of things to photograph. Walking around with my giant 7D mark none camera I feel awkward every one acts like there on high alert when they see me with my camera. I get the vibe no one wants me around.
Asome Iam like you I love the Panasonic cameras I just love certain cameras I do get excited over the ones I like the most or find out a product I love i like to talk about it .anyways thanks for sharing this video I always up to seeying what videos you gonna post about next you always come up with some interesting camera topics.
Took my Pocket 3 on a hike to go ice fishing yesterday and the whole time I was afraid I was going to break it. I just don’t think it can hold up to the physical demand. Great for going out and shooting city walking videos I think, where you’re going to hold it for an hour straight and not stow it and pull it out every few minutes. Would really like for DJI to put the P3 sensor into a tiny camcorder body shaped like the X3000 with a tiny flip out screen, not a GoPro shaped body like the action 3. Hopefully Sony updates their camcorder lineup soon too.
Love your passion for photo and video gear! I've got an original G7X I think I bought in 2015. I think I'm going to retire that and pick up an RX100 Vii today. Well, I may not retire the G7X, but I am going to pick up the Sony.
This video confirms why I chose this one. You're recommendation and a new post with it and about it, glad I found your channel Markus.

In one of your videos of taking pictures with camcorders, you showed pictures from Panasonic V800 to be good enough. If you would please do a review of Panasonic V800 for video and stabilization at zoom, I'd appreciate it a lot and buy you coffee whenever we meet 😊😊
Hi Markus,
I've noticed that you're an expert with camcorders.
You should give masterclass starting from the basics great content as always
Markus, which of these camcorders have the widest angle of view at the wide zoom setting!? Thanks!
What great energy you have Markus! Thank you for the great information in your videos - I am learning a lot.
It's a pity you didn't write or mention the type of light you were using. :-(
Yes I did ruclips.net/video/V-cwoviVlIg/видео.html

Oh!..
Great, thanks for the info I have to get me one
I appreciate the info!
Just watched your movie after reading your book. I know you’re more into still photography than narrative film but would love to see you make a short just with the camcorder and light. Maybe?
I fucking love this man he is so pure 😭
You got me sold dude. I just got 2 camcorders - a retro looking one (Sony SR68) and a decent quality one (Sony XR500V) and looking to buy more... targetting a handy prosumer one. The price is like buying a mirrorless body but it comes WITH all the zoom you ever need. So yeah, SOLD on camcorders.
This camcorder is 30.8mm at the wide end. Thats not wide enough for vlogging
_/\_ have a great week all
TY.
I'm trying to figure out the difference between your VX981 and my VX870. The B&H comparison feature isn't showing much difference.
your amazing person
i gonna get one of that
i just bought sony cx 405 after watching your video
so far i love it
great recommendation
thank you
muchos gracias😊👍
How do I get inspiration to continue this video/photograph hobby? I feel like I ran out of things to photograph. Walking around with my giant 7D mark none camera I feel awkward every one acts like there on high alert when they see me with my camera. I get the vibe no one wants me around.
Asome Iam like you I love the Panasonic cameras I just love certain cameras I do get excited over the ones I like the most or find out a product I love i like to talk about it .anyways thanks for sharing this video I always up to seeying what videos you gonna post about next you always come up with some interesting camera topics.
Thanks
It helps that she's stunningly beautiful too. 😉
Took my Pocket 3 on a hike to go
ice fishing yesterday and the whole time I was afraid I was going to break it.
Great video thank. DO you know what the difference is between the VX981 and the VX980 ?
I can only find the 980 for sale in the UK. Thanks :-)
Love your passion for photo and video gear!
I've got an original G7X I think I bought in 2015. I think I'm going to retire that and pick up an RX100 Vii today.
Well, I may not retire the G7X, but I am going to pick up the Sony.
the zv1 has the same sensor, newer features and cheaper if ya didn't know
And... It comes with a great lens too
yes it does
