dude you are the man supporting these artist. Here they are sleeping at the desk you come up swinging buying all their stuff spending big bucks. gets the heart going
Thank you and you are welcome. And yeah I get a little tongue tied at times, its always amazing meeting artist who have created so many comics that you absolutely love.
Super awesome, I meet so many folks its hard to remember who was who. Do you know where he met me and what I said? I will probably remember him then, I am bad with names haha
Buying them for myself, last 15 years roi been great for me on variants. Takes a few years but the print runs are very low so eventually supply runs out and they go up. I am patient, not rushing to sell. I love collecting them. But I am not worried about loosing money on them either.
I am so glad I grew up in the time when comic books weren't worth anything...you go to the antique shop...ten cents a book for used comics...and Mom thought THAT was too much. Gotta say, I had a happy childhood when a pile of silver age cost ten dollars. Also though, lets face it, they were well worn and well read. Def NOT Mint but damn they were fun and well loved.
Well with inflation 10 cents could be the equivalent of $1to $4 today. Which means if you hit the dollar bin you can still get the same experience today :) I love dollar bins! Of course its not silver age books, but I assume back then Silver Age was not that old.
@@pop-comics Good point brother good point, and actually I was a kid during the silver age, and thus we did not know it was any age at all! It was all just comics..but even then we did Know The Galactus trilogy was golden in any age.
Hi there just a question with all these key comic book hunting , I've seen videos where people go through dollar bins / etc and buy a lot of key comics. My question is how do they decide if they need those key comics in their collection. coz I suppose this would take so much space. How do you know if you want those key comics in your collection? or do you just buy the key comics because they are key comics?
Comics do take up a ton of space, but I buy things I think I need for my own collection or things I think I could sell to cover the cost of the things I keep etc. There is no magic formula to what I will pull out of a dollar bin. Most of the time I have no idea what is there so I dont really make decisions until I start digging. If the bins are just packed full of cool comics I want to buy then I see if the shop or vendor does a fill a box deal. Then you can get more comics per dollar etc.
They are all limited exclusives sold by the cover artist with signature. You might be able to track them down cheaper on ebay if you hunt, but probably not signed by the artist. I definitely like buying direct like that even if it costs a bit more. Helps them keep creating and visiting NYCC etc.
What do you know about illustrated masterpieces I found a book in an antique store of HG Wells the time machine real cool sci-fi cover gyroscope looking device? 1967
The one I think he is talking about is the painted cover which was reprinted multiple times with Classics illustrated. Not 100% sure the cover artist. I think the Gil Kane one was marvel in 1976 with the same Time Machine on the cover, I think I prefer the Gil Kane version but both are pretty cool and affordable.
Its a story where one day every person on earth gets a genie with one wish, some wishes can cancel each other out etc. Then it takes place over 8 seconds, 8 minutes, 8 days, 8 months, 8 years etc. Its a very interesting concept.
What did the orange sticker mean on the CGC comics? Was that a discount or something? Thanks for the video. It's just like digging through the boxes in person ☺️
I’m sorry I don’t mean to vent but I’m watching your videos and you went to Adam Hughes booth to get a book signing and he initials it I know that’s his signature so call signature but it’s not a signature it’s his initials 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

This year, we're the venders more on top of pricing towards fmv?
Somewhat, I was able to get so many great deals, but some folks still pretty tight. I was happy with what I found though.
Wow, the prices....I am surprised they sell anything.
That is why you got to hunt around, some booths were too high and I tend to pass over the overpriced ones but then I found some amazing deals.
Better ROI buying a brand new car and taking it off the lot to resell than all those modern books and variants. Ooh they signed it.

Why were the sabrina ones $20 a piece

Some awesome signed stuff you picked up Sean,I love Sabine Rich's art so beautiful
Her stuff is beautiful!
What do you know about illustrated masterpieces I found a book in an antique store of HG Wells the time machine real cool sci-fi cover gyroscope looking device? 1967
I think its a pretty inexpensive comic, but it has a great cover so its an affordable older sci fi book.
@@pop-comics Gil Kane cover if it's the same one I'm thinking of.

What is "8 billion genies" all about? Story wise.

@@pop-comics Thank you! I will like to read that.
Did you stop and get your Starstorms double-signed while you were in Artists Alley?
I did not, I really should have.
Actually I should have bought one there if he had them for sale, easier for me to get the colorist to sign it later lol
Hot flips was running his own con out on the island. He liquidates all his long box stock at the end of the show.
Yeah I saw the flyers at NYCC, should be fun.
I think that Spider-Man from secret wars is just as much value as alpha fight one so look out for both of them get as many as you can thank you
Which specific books are you talking about?
Mr. Personality Adam Hughes
I guess he was in work mode lol
The post-it note price labeling doesn't make it easy for the one-handed browser!
Not at all!
Indeed, however, i quite like the prices being displayed that way instead of sticker because if it is a good bag then you don’thave To rebag them.
You passed up that CONGO BILL Why ?
Can't buy everything lol But why should I grab Congo Bill in particular?
What did the orange sticker mean on the CGC comics? Was that a discount or something?
Thanks for the video. It's just like digging through the boxes in person ☺️
It was just a price sticker. He gave me a great discount on it
Are you buying comics now?
I am always buying comics.
