- In this video I hunt for the coolest comic books I can find at 2023 New York Comic Con - NYCC 20223. There were so many amazing Comic Books to see at the Comic Con. Grails, Key Issues, Silver Age Comics, Golden Age Comics, Bronze Age comics and so much more. I participated in the Bad Idea comic run and I purchased a ton of comics from many awesome Comic Artists.
Watch as I dig though boxes of comics at the Comic Con and see which comics I ended up buying.

I absolutely love that your first stop is digging through bins instead of chasing specific exclusives, even though you still found time to grab all of those as well!
Yeah I always need to try to hit some of the bins I know have good books at prices I know are good. Those are usually only 1 time opportunity to grab, the exclusives I can get later.

My favorite part of your video was when you flip the golden age boxes. I love those Fawcett captain marvels.
I really do enjoy the old books, you just cant see them that often normally so its a thrill at NYCC and you can flip through 100s of boxes of them.

If you have not been to a smaller one, even they can be a super blast. You can work your way up to a huge one.

Definitely, sometimes I got to edit some edit if people are gossiping about others lol, but if its a funny, random interesting story I leave it in.
That guy wearing the watch going through the boxes at Superworld was destroying those books.
1000s of people dig through those bins! They are definitely not 9.8 books.
I ran into Shawn while digging through boxes at Victory Comics! Great Guy and he taught me a lot in a few minutes!

Thanks for featuring my Frank Cho mystery box score! was fun showing it off. I'm not normally a mystery box guy, but decided to give one a shot. The auto and remark on the box alone was a sweet bonus!
Your very welcome, It was fun to share your joy with everyone else. It really was a fun box by itself, the graded comics were an amazing win on top. I kinda wish I grabbed a Frank Cho one myself. I did get the Mark Brooks one which I did not win anything in the box itself but Guess what? I won the grand prize of the Mark Brooks box in their raffle. They called me today with an hour left in the con today and picked it up.
@@pop-comics oh wow! Thats a sick score! Hopefully you show it off in a haul vid. I was tempted to get a Mark Brooks box, I really dig his art, but I had to choose one and Cho won out as it was a 50/50 on winning a prize.
I think you made a good choice, I saw several people pull amazing things out of that box.
really great footage of the con, my friend. nice selection of boxes to go through. used to do that at my local comic shop when i lived in florida would just go through the back issue bins or the $1.00 bins. always found some neat stuff in them.
Thank you. It always fun digging boxes of comics, you never know what you will find. Might be a pricey key, a neat book you never saw, or something cheap but you have been hunting for. Its always a blast.

Yeah I wanted to do a video or two showing a ton of horror books for halloween. Gonna try to do it this year.
I bought three copies of MD reprints at a used book store. They were compelling reads. I also like to read facsimiles.
Oh yeah the reprints are great to pick up if you want to read all the ec stuff.
I was at the NYCC in 2023 I was hoping to bump into you so I could say hi! I came from the uk and was looking for some good deals but I struggled. Some of the sellers said they put the price up because the pitch fees were crazy expensive. I want to come out again to find some other stuff. I’d like to try other events that aren’t as big, just comic focused. Can you recommend anywhere good??
There is always so many things going on in NYC, almost every weekend their is an event within 50 miles. I really enjoyed the King Kon convention from earlier this year. Felt like there was tons of deals and comics for everyone. I also enjoy Big Apple Con. NYCC is an expensive convention to sell at, that being said there is a lot of comic vendors so I usually have to walk a ton and quickly access a booths pricing. If prices seem high I tend to move on to the next booth and not linger at the expensive ones for that long. If you are after big key issues, conventions will always be tough because everyone is after those.

That I dont know should have asked, it looked so nice for a 2.5 if it was 2.5 price might have been a great copy to snag.

Are we able or aloud to bring our own comics to get signed or do they only sign the exclusives or books sold at the actual CC events?
Yes you can bring your own books (I have purchased books to be signed at the con as well) Each artist handles it different ways, some charge something like $10 for a signature, others will do it for free. Some let you get a ton signed and other will sign up to 2-3 books etc.
@@pop-comics I'm head Hunting Mcfarland for signatures. I'll pay no problem. I noticed in a tour video on another channel that "Artist Alley" is where you wanna be for that. I'm dying to go this next year to SDCC. So much more than I expected it to be.
If and when McFarland does do signatures its usually a long line and a pretty high fee I think. Not the easiest autograph to get but a cool one
@pop-comics I'm 💯% expecting both of those. I'm gona bring 1k just for his signatures. Then some for artwork cuz these places have some of the most insane art you'll find.

Bad idea is such trash it’s all gimmicks I sell everything immediately it’s a trash company
I really like the production quality and art of their books.
