Yeah it was really awesome bumping into you at the show, saw you in front of the line when I got there so had to stop and say hello when I saw you again.
My brothers and I used to go to Mike's comic book shop in Forest Hills Queens in the 80's when we were kids. Store was called Continental Comics. We'd go just about every weekend and get the new releases he would have laid out on a table. He was a good dude and passionate about comics and what they represent. He even gave me and my friend Daniel our first jobs in 1983 or '84 when we 12yrs old or so. We worked there just for a bit bagging and boarding a couple of days out of the week during the summer. He hired us just out of goodness of his heart. I still remember when Simonson started his Thor run and how great it was to go when a new release came out each month. I bought every Simonson Thor from Mike during that entire run. Still have them those exact issues. He charged like 5 or 10 bucks for 337 when it first came out, because the book was so popular. If you see him again at a convention, read him this comment and give him a "what's up" from Stefan. I was the quiet kid and Daniel was the more outgoing kid. Thanks for posting!
Silver Age Marvel stuff is fantastic, I have a lot but still need a bunch more in my collection. Its common enough that when you hunt for it its not about finding it but finding it in a condition that is good enough for a price that makes you happy.
I found your page about 2 months ago and really enjoy when you do your hunt videos and the ones going through them later. If I never sold my collection I feel like you would be the best person to sell it to.
I am happy you found the channel. I love sharing my joy of collecting and the hunt, so its fun when you can enjoy it with me. I do love buying collections and try to be as fair as I can when I do.
@pop-comics that is why I figured you would be the best if I ever sold it. ( it's becoming a possibility) I wish I had access to the amount of shops that you do.
Fantastic show! I enjoyed watching this episode. $8000?? I don’t remember if there ever was a time where I could drop unexpectedly $8000! What am I doing wrong?
@@pop-comics yes!! They're so flippin cute. Also while I have you here, I've only started collecting comics in the last couple years but I wanted to say I have learned SO MUCH from your videos. From basic lingo to like. How to look through boxes at cons or how to bag and board. And I wanted to say thanks!
You passed up a Bob Hope book right in the end there when Jason was asking about the Spire Tom Landry book, which you also passed up. 😂 Loved the Chrissie Zullo visit and can't wait to see the haul video!
Omg, that guy that wanted the Fantastic Four comics at the first booth was MAD! It's like, sir, if you don't like the prices, walk away and go look somewhere else lol 😂
Someone said he was a fun whatnot seller so I am assuming he was looking for a price low enough to make a profit on. Buying from Mike can be a roller coaster, his prices can be crazy high at first but then he always lands somewhere very fair.
@pop-comics I guess that would explain it. Did he end up buying anything? Yeah, I got the vibe that his prices are high, but he is willing to negotiate. It would probably help not being rude to him lol
Hi Sean, I don't collect comic books at all, but I enjoy your videos because I am a collector of many other things and watching your enthusiasm is very relatable! 😄 Plus I like seeing some of the toy-related comic books pop up. (Yep, I collect toys.)
I appreciate that. I love sharing my collecting journey with everyone so I really enjoy it when you tag along. I do love seeing all kinds of collections myself regardless of what it is. Its just fun to see people passionate about the things they love. I am a toy collector myself so I do love the toy related comics a ton.
Checking out your page really quickly, my friend Jason found a stack of 50 or so late 40s early 50s Elle magazines that someone put in the recycling in his building. Super fun stack of Fashion Magazines I need to do a video on soon.
I always pull out things to sell to cover what I spend. Since I earn a living buying and selling pop culture I have the ability to buy a lot more because I sell a lot. If you get into buying and selling you will be able to buy a lot more.
2:06:00 I would have bought all those Walking Dead music covers, however there were 12 of them, and I'm guessing they were $50-$100 each. That's a lot of dough 😁
Oh yeah I think that was the Perez run, one of my all time favorite comics runs but I believe my set is almost done. I do need to sit down and figure out the last few issues I need though. That is kinda why I passed it up. I am assuming they would have been great prices too though.
My long term memory is really good. But also I have a policy if its a 10 cent cover and I have no idea what the comic is I assume its semi rare and I buy it haha. With all the research and hunting I have done over the years I know if its new to me then its probably hard to find. And if I duplicate something I have a physical shop so its easy to put things out for sale to recoup and or make a profit on what I do sell.
Nah I rather get a 5.0 for half its value then a 9.8 for double. Sure id love 9.8 books from the 40s and 50s but those are 1000s each. I am actually not sure the point of your comment lol
Dude u my hero .. u spend 7k in amazing book after u say is very slow i need to control myself 🤣.. but your face of happiness with a 85 dollars box of dollar books is like u made the best deal on town !!! Love this videos when u go out to hunt.!!!🫵💪👍
Thank you for these comic hunt videos, love watching them at work! Keep em coming plz.
Thanx for all you do…
We live vicariously through you 😎
My pleasure!
Great finally meeting you at the show!
Yeah it was really awesome bumping into you at the show, saw you in front of the line when I got there so had to stop and say hello when I saw you again.
I will be honest, I do not watch you a whole lot however when you do comic hunting videos like this, long or short hunts, I love seeing what you find
The comic con hunt videos are my favorite to film. Its so much fun bringing everyone along for the hunt.
Sean is the best! And all was an inspiration to indie artists! Thank you for your support. He got a great eye for awesome fines!
Thank you Len! Your artwork is great, its easy to support your work.
Loved watching this. Just looking at all those books, wheeling and dealing, and going through boxes……..wish more RUclipsrs would do this stuff👍
I love making long videos that show a ton of digging and a bunch of unique books.
❤Divino gracias
Love the Marvel Treasury at 2:17:33! Got an FF and would love more.
Marvel Treasuries are great, I think I have most of them at this point but need to make a list and see what I am missing.
@@pop-comics please do!
That was a KILLER box of Marvel B&Ws!!!
The horror Magazines? Yeah I would have loved to buy the whole box.
Can't wait for a haul video from this show!
Me neither, I was picking so fast that I have not had time to really enjoy what I found yet.
Love House of Secrets
Yeah house of Secrets is great
i love Mike Carbonaro's comics in the beginning of this video !
Yeah amazing stuff.
You're really good at picking!
I try my best hehe
Sean... a True Digger... 7 K down and goin' thru the Dollars books... Salute, pal!!
Got to keep digging.
Happy Belated Birthday, Sean! Fun seeing everything while you were digging. I never knew Jason had a rap name 😁 👍🏻
Thank you so much. There was so much to look at this year I was overwhelmed and felt like I missed a ton. But I also found so many amazing books.
Those prices on those old Disneys are good!!
Yeah I kinda wish I bought a lot more of the early silver age ones.

That is very cool you grew up with his shop I will say hello for sure.
Together we could have emptied the cartoon stuff. 😂👍 This was a great video. Thanks!
I know, if I had not already spent so much that day I could have just started buying by the box lol
Wasn’t able to make it to this show, but so fun to live it vicariously through you! 😅
Happy you got to enjoy my hunt with me. I love doing a long hunt video and sharing it with you.
That table with the silver age Marvel stuff was awesome thats the type of stuff i want to collect

Pro tip when sending to cgc to get your comics graded add as many stamps as possible to ensure you get a 9.8

Yeah the New York area is full of so many comics, we are kinda spoiled here
My favorite part of this video for me was mike's booth He's such a character. Just listening to him wheel and deal with other people. 😂
Oh yeah always a blast! Really enjoy buying from Mike.
SIP Has some GREAT COVERS!!
Yeah I love the whole line of comics, Terry Moore has lovely art.
Fantastic show! I enjoyed watching this episode. $8000?? I don’t remember if there ever was a time where I could drop unexpectedly $8000! What am I doing wrong?
It was pretty insane! I just figure out how to pay for it later, will have to pull out some junk from my collection I am willing to part with.
Man I am obsessed with the old cartoon books now because of you. Especially Casper and Wendy and Spooky. I gotta start collecting em
Love the Halloween feeling ones. Fun to collect and affordable.

I know did not see it and got distracted, only noticed while editing and kicked myself lol

Doesn’t the first shop owner sound like Stan Lee? Love that old school New York accent
Awesome video... hope you're wife won't get mad at your pricey purchase 😢
Always a bit of a shock but I figure out how to pay for it so shes not mad.
Always fun to watch you tear up the boxes... some of the Mag boxes were filled with cool stuff, incl those PIZZAZZ issues...!!
Yup tons of fun stuff

Just in catching up on what I missed... caught approx. last 30-45 mins of the end... from 2nd trip to artist's table to the end!!
Enjoy
The fact you dropped almost my whole savings account in one day makes me so jealous I hope I get there one day
I always pull out things to sell to cover what I spend. Since I earn a living buying and selling pop culture I have the ability to buy a lot more because I sell a lot. If you get into buying and selling you will be able to buy a lot more.
How much did he want for the Preditor book? I couldn’t read the orange tag. Time stamp 19:24
The price tag said $25 which would be a great price on that book in that condition, but I am not sure if that is their price may be an old tag.
2:06:00 I would have bought all those Walking Dead music covers, however there were 12 of them, and I'm guessing they were $50-$100 each. That's a lot of dough 😁
I am not sure did not pay attention but maybe. They could have been a deal too.
Any ghost stuff.. 👍👍
Yup love the old school horror stuff.
Noticed some TEEN TITANS after the big Romance batch... Kind a wished you'd slowed down... curious what his prices would've been on those...!!
Oh yeah I think that was the Perez run, one of my all time favorite comics runs but I believe my set is almost done. I do need to sit down and figure out the last few issues I need though. That is kinda why I passed it up. I am assuming they would have been great prices too though.
How you keep track of all of the Funny/ Teen books I'll will never know...!!

That comic.. from here to insanity.. seems to be worth some money. I've never even heard of that series.
Did not know, very cool. Will have to look into it more.
Did you remember what number I plucked from the boxes, I want to research it a bit.
@@pop-comics I think #8
@@pop-comics Right at 3:25, of the video.
Awesome thanks. Does seem to be a pretty rare comic.
I've never seen so many cartoon or funny animal books.
Yeah normally the Golden Age and Atomic Age Funny books I find small pockets here and there. Never so many at once.
How do they get such huge lot collections ? Wholesale ?
Buying the same way I do, collections, buying in bulk from other dealers etc.
Is this more AI music in the background or are they actually playing 1950s Jazz combos at the NY Con?
AI music I added to cover up copyright music.
How many times you going to flip through the same comics omg
100 times!
2:19:17 tmnt role playing game manual book one ugh
Oh was not on my radar to look out for but I think I got it for a great price.
Noted the MARVEL's GREATEST... not your general profile... for a customer perhaps?
Oh just on the table I did not buy those.

Obviously a rich rich man! Doesnt care much about condition. A lot of limp books.
Nah I rather get a 5.0 for half its value then a 9.8 for double. Sure id love 9.8 books from the 40s and 50s but those are 1000s each. I am actually not sure the point of your comment lol
