the haters are those who still live under the illusion that "less is more" when really: that is impossible as: less can never be more because: MORE IS MORE!
I agree, it takes a certain fan to appreciate Yngwie and his music. Many of the naysayers and haters are just jealous because he has managed to have a career despite of it. They can't comprehend what it takes to play and to dedicate your life to it. I like to think he is just Unique and Talented and nothing anyone says will change that. We fans who love him wouldn't have it any other way.
Here's the deal: There are lots of guitar players who are technically proficient. I will say that early in my music listening life, I found, and took great liking to YM. I gotta say, now though, after having seen him play, and just the way he behaves onstage is just annoying. It's almost as if he's trying to prove to everyone that he is amazing, every time he performs. It's not that he's not talented, he just seems really pompous, and that is, at the end of the day, very unprofessional.
Yeah Great and always a suprise! I think he tried about 10 strat's until he found the one he wanted! I just wish he would get a decent vocalist and start writing some song's instead of just playing live with the same set over and over.....Apart from that he is a genius!
good point... I see exactly what you mean at 13:06 -13:36 where is is having a tantrum..then probably cusses out his guitar tech..how would you like his job? Yngwie is going on tour now..but I don't think I could take it. I only saw him once..back in 88 on the Odyssey tour with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals..THAT was a band!! Great songs..great singer...that's probably the last Yngwie album I liked.
I went to this show with my dad when it was in Madison. Yngwie is my dad's favorite guitarist and he had tears in his eyes when Yngwie came out on stage. My ears were ringing for hours after that show but it was still the best concert I've ever been to. Yngwie is truly a legend. Rock on!
There is couple of things I just can't put my head around how he does it. First of all, I was able to play really fast younger but never did I get that tilulilulilu sound he does. Second, how can he play so precisely with those fingers! :D My fingers are like sausages from time to time because of arthritis and I can't play even E-minor then. He is truly one of the greatest. He is in that league with Paul Gilbert and Guthrie Govan where you don't have to put them into any particular order. They just .. are.
@@weicco watch Itzhak Perlman play the violin, and it'll make slightly more sense. He was told his fingers were too big to play the violin, so ... like Naruto, he practiced until he was the best.
He sounds much much better than a few years ago. He was almost getting to the point of being sloppy there for a while. Looks like he's lost quite a bit of weight too. Good for you Yngwie! That's the man we've been missing!
it just hit me...Yngwie is the Elvis of Guitar. he is not JUST a guitar player. he is not just a musician. he is an entertainer. he likes to put on a show. he loves the theatrics of his show just as he enjoys the crowd screaming for him. he loves throwing picks. he loves the attention. he has a fun time, loves his music, loves the fans loving him. and... he loves his side-burns and showing off his hairy chest and flashy rockstar clothes and jewelry. i can soooo see him rocking the Elvis jumpsuit! not to mention, Yngwie IS the KING of Guitar! KEEP ROCKIN!!!!
Often imitated never duplicated. Yngwie Malmsteen I think its funny when people complain that he over plays. I can only imagine what kind of comments would have been made about Paganini if RUclips was around then.
Remember he’s also the boss of everything that revolves around his music, he does all the hiring and arrangements of the music and not even his managers tell him what to do. He’s also a business man.
Yngwie super shredder! As I was in amazement when I first heard EVH, I was in amazement when I first heard YJM! Glad to be alive to enjoy this gifted guitarist!
I will always greatly respect yngwie malmsteen he was without question one of the best rock players ever to play the guitar but when I see him now I still wish he played like he did in the days of Alcatraz obviously that's a high and Tall order to continue but he's still my main man as far as playing goes just needs to relax man
I still dig him. Gotta love how he never changed or gave into fads. I'm so tired of those licks but back in teh day, I learned all those licks he still keeps playing, and thanks to him for giving us those and that sweep style that he made so prominent. A lot like Eddie did for the tapping thing. They didn't invent the techniques, but made it very popular.
I Just love people these days can't even pay attention to a blasting rock concert not mention with with the living legend of neoclassical guitar because they need to keep fiddling with their iPhones instead. Put your damn phones away and enjoy the concert!
It's not 'young Yngwie' standard but, here, he seems to be playing better than he has done for years. This FBTS performance is great. I've generally been enjoying the recordings made of this tour. Still, his old picking remains much nicer than the more 'freeform' soloing style of the last 20-ish years. The ingenuity and drama of his note choices and timing have diminished - a pun... - a lot, also. I guess it can't be helped, but I'd love to see him regain some of the accuracy he once had (even post-accident).
He is also playing faster than the recordings... awesome playing. After the accident he also changed different parts of equipment that seemed to change his tone. I would like to see him go back to his original set up BUT still amazing playing
yngwie as usual is godly, dont ask someone who is the king to become a princess. he is the neoclasical king, bow low.if you dont like it there's plenty of other shit out there, literally
Panasonic DMC-ZS20 all my youtube clips have been recorded with the same camera sometimes the sound has been very loud or i have been next to the loudspeaker and still the sound is great
its not a big traditional camera with an object attached to it but a pocket camera; nobody cares anymore about taping the shows or bringing a camera in. Anybody can record even with their cell phones nowadays. There's nothing to worry about.
Wow! This time i could stand his performance 8 minutes 13 seconds; now i must check if there's a mosquito on speed/steroids in my ear or if it's only the afterglow... Yngwie - Fan the first maybe 10-15 years, then i had enough! But every time seeing him i can say one thing for sure: He's STILL a burning Wheel of Fire with great feeling! If he just would play less SOMETIMES... (i know what you're gonna say now: more is more! 🙃).
Being Yngwie seems tough, he did things amazing and inhuman since he was 20 but still need to keep it till 50, but what we only do everyday is critism. I'm big fan though XD
he has taken his playing to the Paganini level .Virtuoso violin modern classical. Of course it is interesting ,"Modern Classical, like H Villa Lobos (1940s,5 preludes)and Paganini, are more reminiscent of the 1700s.Tony MacAlpine is interesting as well, with "Premonition" .Tony really broke away from sounding the same in any way ,by composeneraling all new cadences ,that are news to music in g
23:55 any one comparing Yngwie playing TRILOGY SUITE "pre -Accident 1989" to Post, may want to see the picking hand is even more precise than ever!! All B.S. he got through it , stop talking about it already!
Simply brilliant! Don't understand the haters saying he should slow down. I guess some people just don't appreciate exceptional playing.

The one and only neoclassical guitar player, style creator, always imitated but never surpassed.
My GOD what great guitarplaying!!

Absolutely AMAZING!!!
YNGWIE MALMSTEEN is YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
I love it.
I am such a classical music "purist" but I freakin' love Yngwie and what he does with classical pieces. I just love this guy!!!!
Exceptional... What a unique gift this swede has. Brilliant playin' throughout
Still playing well at 53 years of age
full of cocaine you mean
Barrios Groupie he ages well
Not everybody does cocaine, Dave, hate to disturb your high, but some people are just good at what they do.
@@davekoshi7236 Cocaine separates you from your instrument. Clearly not the case here.

I think it's really great that Zakk has such respect for those who trail blazed before him. Good on him!
it's amusing how generous he is with his picks. half the time he doesn't even use them he just takes em off the mic stand and chucks em
He's playing better than ever
Yngwie was on fire that night. thanks for sharing.
Fantastic! Yngwie is really on fire!
The king!!
