    Malmsteen's technique and mastery of the fret board is phenomenal and unsurpassed. I love when he plays acoustic cause it exemplifies how articulate and tasteful he actually is. He's definitely one of the all time greats.

      Much better than that crack like Bruno Mars and Maroon 5 and Beyonce. But them they got to play the super bowl half time show. Go figure ? It fun to see now that Malsmsteen and Vai play together and are now good friend. Now that they appreciate others music and company it's just more for us fans when they do show like Generation Axe or G3 or G4. Thanks guys.

      YEAH! Like no one comment on this. I though it was some kind of Auto chords pad or something. I guess he plays this chord precession pretty often and his band member knows it as well. Only explanation actually, there is no way you can guess perfectly right and sync with the guitar player.

    In 1999 Yngwie played his concerto on his tour bus for me. Later that night after the gig, Yngwie asked me what was your favorite song. I said all of coarse but the acoustic section stands out for me. Then I said you need to play more live and studio acoustic guitar 🎸. A few years later he did an all acoustic guitar 🎸 cd that went to number 2 on the charts. 💯🎸🤩💨

    I always viewed him as a guitar player who plays like a violin player. He is the only rock classical guitar player that I am aware that everything he plays classically influenced. He is one of the best ever playing with another amazing guitar player.

    Yngwie’s technique remains incredible as his picking is relaxed. 40 years of playing thru 50 and 100w plexis dimed 4-5 nites a week teaches you a lot, including 2 hand muting and dynamics and how to make a strat sound amazing. Thanks for posting.

      I also like that he uses an organic sound. You can hear every pick attack, fret slide, string buzz, etc. It's very musical and human. There are a lot of new shredders out there but everybody sounds alike.

    For those of you who prefer one of these players over the other, that's great but don't put down the one that you don't prefer because I'll bet that 97% of you can't enter the level of musicianship of any of the two, Malmsteen or Vai. They are both acclaimed and accomplished internationally, and are recognised across many genres. It's easy to write bad crap about others on RUclips but difficult to be a celebrity musician.
