    I realize these riders are pros are are probably used it it, but I would think that the slow sections where multiple spectators are standing literally in your path up until the last second before they get out of the way has to be a bit distracting and disconcerting!

      The Pros have actually said they love it, it’s what makes the sport so great. Imagine having spectators screaming at you to keep pushing, you’d easily find a few more watts when the tanks empty.

      @GeorgeD1 Месяц назад +1

      @@abdulsalphan Every rider has an accumulated time throughout all stages. So the rider who has completed all stages in the shortest total time wins, the winner doesn't need to finish first at every stage, not even in the last stage to win. Andrea Vendrame has so far been around two *hours* slower than the top 10, so this 16-minute advance makes no difference in the top. You can see the current rankings online, Giro d'Italia has its own page, check it out if you want :)

    Deserved victory for Vendrame. Great entertainment of the escapees because the leaders for the nap (Do not include Pogačar)
    If there is a time trial the next day you have to save, if there is a mountain you have to save, if it is the first week you have to save, the same with the second and for the third they no longer have energy🤷‍♂️Today they saved with the excuse of the super stage of mountain. Statistically, Pogačar will try to win the stage against the owner of his team, the Emirati Sheikh, and the others will see who stays rather than attacking. There have only been changes of pace, not attacks, from 2 to 10. Today was a perfect route for positions 10 to 20 to seek to climb in the general classification and try to win the stage. Impossible tomorrow the epic. I hope I'm wrong.

      Well, everybody who understand how this works would know that the teams that are in race for winning in general clasification ALWAYS pay attention to their rivals and don't let them run away! When somebody (or anybody in a run-away group) like today that is a couple of hours behind in GC, they really don't care whatsoever, especially when the Giro is practically decided. Only a traffic accident or some "unnatural" event can change the order in GC, and You know after three weeks of racing with just a few rest days everybody is very tyred and not in the mood to show off.

      He didn’t win by 16 minutes solo, he won by one minute ahead of the rest of the breakaway. UAE has no need to ride, sprinting teams have no need to ride, they gave up a win as evidenced by the 16 minutes to the peleton.
      If the measure of being “stunning” is can I do it myself, then every single race would have to be “stunning” and yet then none of them are stunning.
