    It’s poetry in motion watching Tom descend, watched it live and rewatched it over and over again, a true masterclass in bike handling

    This man knows how to apex a corner. This is TEXTBOOK maximizing corner exits for maximum speed.
    If this man was in an F1 car, I have no doubt he would understand how to maximize the corners.

    Ever since this beautiful downhill display, people have thought of Tom P (TP) as a future grand tour winner. There is a significant difference between winning a stage in the very exciting fashion that TP did, and being a GC contender. He was 2'42" slower than the gc group who were being owed to the top by Sepp Kuss and didn't start attacking each other until shortly (2-3 km) before the line. Given how quickly he has been dropped in other races since then, I don't think TP will ever by a top GC rider, you can't be minutes slower on mountain stages with an ok TT and be a top GC rider. He will go on to be like Dan MArtin and others, winning 1-2 road races a year, often high profile. But he is a level below the likes of MVdP, WVA, Tadej, JV etc.

      I agree. Once you experience a traumatic crash whether it be on a bike or whatever it ruins you. Nobody is trying to cut him short but he is young and maybe taking more risks. Experience errs on the side of caution and if you're trying to make a name for yourself you shouldn't get yourself killed in the process.

    Van Aert 2021 TdF was shocking, Vingegaard 2023 TT stage was shoking. That stage he was given the green light by the peloton, descended like a morron, and beat a couple nobodies and a complete has been.
    When you remember in his age bracket there is Evenpoel and Pogacar... This rider is the most arrogant and overhyped the WT.

      @dpcater 10 дней назад +6

      Christ mate, you really got personal with that didn't you!? How is he overhyped. Literally everyone says he won't compete with anyone good on GC whilst he is focusing on multiple disciplines!

      @@dpcater No HE says he cannot compete on GC while focusing on others disciplines, to keep his ego flatered like he could when focusing.
      The reality is he would be nowhere near Pogi or Evenpoel on 1 or 3 weeks races. An old Shurter is still winning on MTB because the field is weak. On CX he is much closer that Iserbyt that Van Aert and VdP. On the road he is closed than a Teisj Benoot or a Ben Healy than a Van der Poel or an Alaphillipe. The guy claimed to aim all 3 discipline rainbow stripes the same year...
      But he has the same salary and media exposure as the very top riders. He is England little hype Princess. Most selfish rider of the WT. Even Wiggins or Froome have helped teammates when wearing TdF Yellow jersay that Pidcock ever did.
      He cause an opponent to crash at Galsgow on the last turn of the Short Track, he caused the Liège massive crash that almot crippled Alaphillipe.
      He should be banned like Moscon and Greonenwegen, especially knowing the legacy of doping among Brustish ctycling since London Olympics

    Anyone who's been riding road bikes for age's can do this easy..,the way some of these comments are it's like it's impossible & how does he get to do this 🧐...,dedication & a trust in your bike handling skills is as easy as pie & chips it's really not that hard but i guess to the beginner /amateur to do this its really hard but not to for the more experienced bike rider...!!

      @@govermentsoundsystemrootik8887 I don't think it, I know it and this video and literally thousands of others prove it. According to you every professional cyclist should be able to descend like this, but they can't. Which means that (unsurprisingly) some professional cyclists are better than others?
      If every cyclist in the TDF had exactly the same talent, fitness and abilities then the result would be a 200 way dead heat every year wouldn't it?
