- Ahead of the show's first West End preview, the Dear Evan Hansen team have released a video showing the new Evan Hansen Sam Tutty performing "For Forever" alongside stars from the north American production of the piece.
The hit Tony Award-winning musical will now be booking until 2 May 2020, and today launched a new weekly digital lottery with the first draw taking place on Wednesday 13 November 2019. Lottery winners will be able to purchase two tickets at £25 each.

From a musical standpoint, this is likely one of the most perfect examples of how you don't need a large band or orchestra to make perfect music. Just two guitars and four perfectly suited (and arranged) voices can take you where the songwriter meant for you to go. The choices Alex Lacamoire made when he arranged this version of the song is perfect in every way. The highs were spot on and the lows were even more poignant. His harmonic dissonance was perfect when it needed to be and the performers nailed it to prove Alex's point. I've listened (not so much watched) to this many, many times and I will continue to every time I need to be reminded of what good friendship can look like. Thanks to all the "Evan's," the guitarist's, and to Alex for allowing me to suspend reality from time to time in your music.

I don't know how much you know about the full story, but basically this guy Connor took his own life, and through a series of misunderstandings his parents ended up thinking him and Evan were best friends even though they barely knew each other and the few interactions they had were Connor lowkey bullying Evan. Evan goes with (first because he doesn't really know how to tell them the truth, then because he likes how his life improved with everything that happened).
Anyway, getting to the song in question. Evan is making up a story to Connor's parents about how he broke his arm while him and Connor were hanging out together, so the audience knows the entire song is a lie Evan made up from the spot, but you can also tell that that's a little bit of him fantasizing about having a real friend and having someone there for him when he's hurting (I don't remember at which point of the story this is revealed, but we end up learning that Evan was actually alone when he broke his arm, and if I remember well he just walked himself alone to the hospital)

I just love Sam and Andrew. The way the look at each other with wonderment and how their voices just blend perfectly.
What feels SO beautiful about this arrangement, is that it's an arrangement for 4 people singing in the same range, which feels technically unusual - if you're arranging a quartet, you tend to arrange for at least two different singing parts. This feels SO harmonious, even though they all sing in the same register. I love it.
True but Sam and Robert have a deeper tone when they’re singing in their lower and middle range compared to Andrew and Stephen which is probably why Andrew and Stephen for the higher parts and Sam and Robert did the lower parts (or I maybe be wrong about which part Robert got)

I’ve seen him twice and him as Evan truly is the best thing i’ve ever seen! he is incredible
I've seen him too, last july, and while he is also the only Evan Hansen I've ever seen live, he was just remarkable. I adored every second, I was able to witness his play.

This is amazing! The sheer range in Stephan and Andrews voices especially, Stephan hit a high B flat! And omg, how effortlessly Evan 3 hit that high G! And Sams lower harmonizing! This is amazingly arranged and so much talent! Literal chills.
