I personally think Lin is a great singer, but even if he isn't, he just sings with passion in anything he does, and you can just feel every emotion and I think that makes up for some if any flaws in his singing
Honestly I prefer voices like Lin, it's unique and it's nice to hear to the ear imo, he also tends to put in a lot of emotion as well which makes it better

Lin has a character voice - very theater esq- and per character voices they tend to be unique bc they hit all the notes while still sounding non pretentious nor the way we typically characterize “good” signing voices. Also as a side observation, in the Latino community there is a general acceptance and appreciation for voices that resonate the character of the person singing them, rather then the typical “good” voice sound. As a Puerto Rican I’m sure Lin has that imbedded in him as well.- something to think about ☺️
2 years ago. 2 years ago, this video was made, but for what reason? 2 years ago, school shootings and gun violence grew. These two fantastic actors and writers decided they'd do something amazing. They did this because they knew we had lost too many to gun violence. Lin Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt saw this violence and spoke out against it. So many who cannot tell their stories, who never got their chance to reach their full potential. Their glory. 2 years ago, many parents, many friends lost amazing people. 2 years ago, my friend dissapeared that day. Never to talk to me again until two weeks later. A message from their account, telling me that the friend I loved so much was gone. Watching flickers of their face on the news. So, raise a glass for those who have fallen. For those families who never got to hug their own children, siblings, cousins, grandchildren, ect. For those friends who never got to walk to class with the kids who had fallen. For those enemies who never got to make amends with the child down the hall. For the survivors with mental and physical scars. For those who fell those school days, never to get back up again. Never to tell their stories. Never to grow up and start a family. Never to be able to reach their hand back down to someone again. We will be found, friends. We will break through the shadows and rubble. We will rise again.

Sofy Garza I keep playing this on repeat and I'm in love. I will listen to this and probably never get tired even after 100 repetitions. Not only that, but the fact that it raises awareness and promotes standing up to gun violence is out standing and I honestly could have never wished for something like this to be done by me and for it to turn out this good. The fact that this was taken on by Tony award winners for such a cause is admirable and should be acknowledged by the masses.
What I love about this song is how it touches you do deep in your soul. It pulled my heart back together when it was broken and it started to fill me up when I felt too stressed to eat. Lin has a character voice - very theater esq- and per character voices they tend to be unique bc they hit all the notes while still sounding non pretentious nor the way we typically characterize “good” signing voices. Also as a side observation, in the Latino community there is a general acceptance and appreciation for voices that resonate the character of the person singing them, rather then the typical “good” voice sound. As a Puerto Rican I’m sure Lin has that imbedded in him as well.- something to think about ☺️

2 years ago, this video was made, but for what reason? 2 years ago, school shootings and gun violence grew. These two fantastic actors and writers decided they'd do something amazing. They did this because they knew we had lost too many to gun violence.
Lin Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt saw this violence and spoke out against it. So many who cannot tell their stories, who never got their chance to reach their full potential. Their glory.
2 years ago, many parents, many friends lost amazing people. 2 years ago, my friend dissapeared that day. Never to talk to me again until two weeks later. A message from their account, telling me that the friend I loved so much was gone. Watching flickers of their face on the news.
So, raise a glass for those who have fallen. For those families who never got to hug their own children, siblings, cousins, grandchildren, ect. For those friends who never got to walk to class with the kids who had fallen. For those enemies who never got to make amends with the child down the hall. For the survivors with mental and physical scars. For those who fell those school days, never to get back up again. Never to tell their stories. Never to grow up and start a family. Never to be able to reach their hand back down to someone again.
