    My wife had a gastric bypass years and years ago... more than 10. she lost a ton of weight which was very good! Her dietary team did not stress to her the importance of supplementing all of her meals from that day forward with plenty of vitamins and nutritional content that her body could no longer absorb from her almost non-existent food intake. That was very very bad! She was diagnosed with Ms about a week and a half ago. As you can Imagine over the years things have gotten worse and we've had to chase down vitamin deficiencies. She lost the ability to walk about 5 months ago and it has been no fun ever since then at all. All the blood tests said everything she was fine so they labeled it as MS. Imagine our surprise when another doctor Ran some different tests found out it was zinc deficiency a complete lack of to be specific. Anyhow she took a few walking steps just yester day and keeps telling me how good she feels and how much food tastes good to her again after zinc treatment at the hospital and physical rehab. All from one Trace element. Always go for second and third opinions because doctors don't always know what they're talking about. The body is too complex there's too much. These are good men and women who are out there doing their jobs to the best of their ability but it's just so difficult sometimes. Just remember that some doctors see things different than other doctors and you should go ahead and see what their opinion is. Best of luck to anybody out there who is struggling. And this guy is a smart man doing wonderful service thank you for that

    I started watching Dr. Berg's videos not too long ago and I can say these videos are the most informative videos out there. • @metalslave199
      @metalslave199 2 года назад +7

      @@desertknights5003 the most beneficial has been vitamin D and what it does for the body. I'm a diabetic and live in the midwest. These factors make me deficient by default. But I also noticed my hair was thin and I'd shed so much in the shower. I bumped into one of his videos and i began taking vitamin D but I started with very low doses. I then increased to 10,000 IU, then 20,000, then 30,000 until I saw another of his videos where he recommended 40,000 IUs daily. So I decided to increase to 40,000, added vitamin E, Selenium and vitamins A and K. I'm growing hair like a chia pet. I have so many new sprouts that now the only annoying thing (I kid I kid) is my new hair sticking out because its grown. I also added electrolytes to keep hydrated (although I was already consuming 300oz of water daily). I'm now reviewing more of his videos on autoimmune diseases because my sister has been affected by an onslaught of conditions. Time to help her out.

    I read some research many years ago done by a doctor who was a PhD student in my country (Denmark). He was researching the connection between type 1 diabetes and zinc levels in the pancreas. He saw there was a sharp decrease of zinc in the pancreas of type 1 diabetics when the autoimmune activity was highest (early diagnosis), but the conclusion was a “chicken or egg” type of thing as well. He wasn’t able to conclude what came first - if the decrease happened because of the autoimmune reaction or caused it (or for some other reason). I just thought it was very interesting back then, and started to occasionally supplement with it, after I read the paper (I’m a type 1 diabetic).

    I have very mild cerebral palsy, and the hair just stood up on the back of my neck, since everything you mentioned about the soleus muscle contracting, relaxing, and not developing is exactly the problem. How strange. There is definitely a link between CP and vitamin deficiencies since CP kids are apparently born with almost no levels of E. I’ve had minor skin issues all my life that get better or worse with vitamins, diet, gluten, and sugar, so I know there’s some kind of deficiency. There’s also something to do with GABA receptors, so I’m taking calcium, magnesium, zinc, D and E in the hopes that I stumble upon a miracle! I did notice less stiffness with keto, although I don’t like to do strict keto because it affects my ability to do strenuous exercise. Keep up the great work.

      Could be a serious lack of copper because these 2 nutrients need to be balanced. I use a nutrients app to avoid that. Because we need a lot of zinc for many reasons anyways.

    Excellent video, Dr Berg! Just wanted to mention the importance of taking Quercetin with zinc to help direct it to the cells and improve absorption.

    Giving zinc in case of deficiency to women during pregnancy and even after birth reduces the chances of diarrhea in infants during their first year.

    Dr. Berg, I've been told that often when elderly people fall it's because they don't lift their feet (or maybe their toes?) as high when they walk as they used to and end up scuffing of scraping their foot on the ground causing them to stumble and lose their balance and fall. I've also been told that this is connected to a vitamin B-12 deficiency. From this video and your talking about zinc and the soleus muscle, I'm thinking that maybe zinc also plays a role in this serious elderly health issue? What do you think?

      I read an article that said that shuffling when older, indicates a short life span.
      I wasn't overly convinced but... I'm starting to see the effects not moving enough is having, on myself, because of my autoimmune disease and Fibromyalgia.

    Thanks again for your lesson Doc. I forgot all about the thymus gland. My instructor just touched on it in anatomy classes on glands. I totally agree about the importance of zinc. That’s why I’ve only eaten thighs. Also liver, on occasion and oysters once in a while. I eat cod when i can, as well.

    how about daily consumption of milk? does it prohibits zinc? i like milk in my coffee. it buffers the adrenaline release in my body. as a woman, its hard to regulate fluctuations of my hormones, and milk brings me comfort in that regard.

      He answers this in a few videos on milk and dairy products. Basically there are ways too many sugars in milk. You need to figure why milk makes you feel better. Is it because it increases blood sugar or because of its calcium content, ect. And solve this with healthy solution.
