Hi Nicole -- I think a very useful enhancement to the "Cable" mode would be to allow subject tracking while allowing control of the position on the cable. Today both features are allowed independently, but not combined. This would allow the user to control the shot and timing of the drone movement while following a subject.
good tips. Would like to see more of this on a weekly basis to help hone skills and be better acquainted with the Skydio. My biggest angst is loosing this expensive camera, thus tips on range, what to do if it is lost, good practices to insure it is not lost, etc would be helpful!
@@Skydio I have not. Thank you for this info. I think Skydio has missed an opportunity to educate their new users with a weekly installment of educational videos. I am a little surprised tracking of new owners doesn't do that automatically and now overwhelmed with the new videos I have to choose from. Opportunity to slowly feed new pilots?

Hello. Nice tutorial. If Subject tracking with the beacon plus and a fly off happens where the drone Flys away without your promts, how do I get it to come back to me? Is there a return to beacon feature?
Thanks for this, you mentioned about tracking a subject that doesn't have the phone. Would tracking improve if I have subject carry beacon and what happens when my drone goes out of range of my phone but is still connected to beacon? Will it return to my phone? Or does it continue to track beacon?
So then the person with the beacon would have to retrieve and land with beacon? I'm having range issues filming from mountain tops where the drone will certainly disconnect if it keeps following the beacon. Check out lastest video on my channel, I'd love advice on how to better handle this scenario.
@@baksideDisaster Yes, then they would need to use the Beacon to pilot manually back. An option would be to set a home point within the app for Skydio 2 to fly to in the event of a disconnect. You can do this by long tapping the map, and then tap home point.
you guys need to make the low battery failsafe return to home please. or at least let us return to home from the beacon. This is super useful for surfing.
amazing drone; I like to make kitesurfing videos, so it follow a kiter and at the end of the battery if kiter cannot return to the beach, will it come by itself to land at the beach safely or take a dive in ocean? Thank-you
You can set a home point for Skydio 2 to land at it it gets low on battery, also you will be warned via the Beacon so you can get to the beach to perform a landing.
Thankyou: so if I set a home point it will return to beach rather than landing in ocean. Great . Is beacon water proof? I will buy this follow me mode I don’t want to take phone or beacon with me as there is no many hurdles in water so it should not have hard time following me.
@@Skydio I don’t think I need a beacon in water as I am focussing on kite flying. I will set up home point for return button . It shouldn’t have a trouble in follow me as there is no hurdles in water. My worry is it will return home at the landing site instead of landing in water. If it has a precision of - /+ 15 ft, that should work. Or I can test run first time as I Kitesurf at the same place all the time.

Hi Nicole, the app says ready to fly, with the fly now box, but when I go to info/settings before launch, I don't have the record audio option... I do have the latest version of the app. am I missing something?
Turning audio record on/off within the Skydio app is only available on android. Apple handles the audio on/off in the iOS level permissions. Skydio asks you to enable these when you first open the app, but you can manually do it in the iPhone permissions settings.
This is only available on Android. If you are using an iPhone then the Skydio app will ask you for permission to access the mic when you first install the app.
Hey Skydio Im having some problems with my drone footage, in some videos it records the sound but in others its dead silent. It doesn’t record what it hears from the beacon. Is there a way to fix this. Thank You
Hey Alexander, in order to record audio you will need to fly with the phone app. Make sure when you land you tap the media tab, then tap on your flight and let it sync so the audio will not be lost. If you kill the app or power down the drone before the audio syncs you will lose the audio.

@@Skydio unfortunately with no cell access in the backcountry and no way to cache the map in the app setting home point doesn't help.
I'm still waiting for the emergency landing abort button that returns control to the pilot-in-charge. What's taking so long???
Can you lock your phone (so you can put it in your pocket) after you've set tracking? Will this interrupt tracking/audio/connection?

If you are flying in the water you will want to keep the Beacon in a waterproof bag as it is not waterproof.

You should have access to all those cinematic skills in any version of the app.

@@Supramd1 Hey Steve, this was filmed using the Skydio 2 consumer version of the app. You have access to these skills within your version of the app.
I don’t see an option to record audio in my Skydio app. I am using app version 10.0.0 (8).
Only Android devices have the ability to turn on/off recording in the app. With an Apple device it will need to be changed in iPhone permissions.
