The twist of this, and by extension this whole continuity being connected to Flashpoint Paradox and the reveal of the bullet hole in Zooms head is one of my favorite twists of all time. Like one of my favorites out of anything.
I love this movie (and your reaction!). I remember being so blown away when it turned out to be a secret sequel to The Flashpoint Paradox - THAT'S the kind of shock universe-building I want from the likes of the MCU/DCU and we rarely get outside of post-credits scenes. Incidentally, there's an excellent comic book sequel to this! Including an explanation of why the spell is a goofy Monopoly-esque card.
You are right, they are originally Captain Atom villains, they debuted in 1967 in the Charlton Comics (so Jewelee is way older than Harley), fun fact Mime & Marionette in newer Watchmen related comics are inspired by Punch & Jewelee.
Once yall are done with the DCAMU, I'd love for yall to check out Young Justice. I feel like you'll love it. The plots throughout are really good. The show isnt afraid to delve into heavy topics and it definitely isn't a kids show. Coy would love how much they pull from comics.
One of my favorite DCAMU films. It’s a self contained story while still having ties all the way back to flashpoint. Also the main group is great. Just all around a solid film

You didn't mention them but discount Joker & Harlequin from the cold open sequence are Punch & Jewelee, a married villain couple who are enemies of Captain Atom in the comics. I'm guessing they were originally created based on the classic Punch & Judy puppetry act known for their violence.
@Timed Revolver I forgot about that! It gets very little respect because it was television, but the Arrowverse was such a great example of comic crossovers and that crazy cameo is still one of the most exciting moments I've seen in anything comic book related.
I knew these guys were going to luv that Zoom callback to Flashpoint. This was a good flick and fingers crossed that the next reaction is in the same continuity.
That's one thing I really like about this movie is that all the hits feel so visceral whether it's a fist hitting a face or a face hitting a sink it all has that heavy painful feel to it

The general premise of the 2010 show was close to the comic book. 18 years before, A Human Target TV show was made and aired on ABC starring singer Rick Springfield, and it was even closer to the original comic property.

i think Michael Jai White would be a killer live action Bronze Tiger since he voiced him! they were rumoring he would play him a few years ago in an adaptation but it’s probably changed since then, but with Jai’s incredible martial arts skills, he would be my top pick!

Man, Human Target was an awesome TV series. I didn't know there was a comic. And if you say that the comic was in the last 5 years, then probably is based on the Tv show, because that was on 2010 I think.
the 2010 Human Target show was based on the comic book character, the character is an old one the first Human Target originally debuted in 1953 and second and more well known version Christopher Chance (the version that appeared in all three live action adaptation of the character) debuted in 1972. also the 2010 series wasn't the first TV series based on the character, the short-lived Human Target show which aired in 1992 for 7 episodes was the first series based on the character. Human Target also appeared in few episodes of Arrow TV show.

Man, Human Target was an awesome TV series. I didn't know there was a comic. And if you say that the comic was in the last 5 years, then probably is based on the Tv show, because that was on 2010 I think.
I loved that show and I was super sad when it got cancelled. Actually, the show was based on the comic from the late 90s :)

the 2010 Human Target show was based on the comic book character, the character is an old one the first Human Target originally debuted in 1953 and second and more well known version Christopher Chance (the version that appeared in all three live action adaptation of the character) debuted in 1972. also the 2010 series wasn't the first TV series based on the character, the short-lived Human Target show which aired in 1992 for 7 episodes was the first series based on the character. Human Target also appeared in few episodes of Arrow TV show.

But no you just got Ice and Killer Frost confused for to be the same person 😅. Eh, we all get a brain fart, but there is a Fire and Ice solo coming up that will hopefully distinguish the two for ya
