@@slamclam4122no it’s not. it’s a filter for the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system, it filters out oil from the air that the system sends into the intake, preventing carbon buildup on the intake manifold, intake ports and intake valves, as well as making combustion cleaner and slightly higher octane

Nice install! In addition to filtering the air that is fed back to your intake, the catch cans acts as a relief to your PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system. Meaning that all of that oil, fuel, water mixture that slips past the piston rings ends up in the catch can instead of fouling inside the oil pan. Great for boosted applications with additional pressure inside the engine. Nice video!

I put a small filter on the PCV nipple and plug the plenum nipple. works on all VQ35DE. I run 550hp twin turbo built motor. You dont need a catch can. But, if you run the car in the cold, you will get oil condensate build up under the oil fill cap.

i have a 4 cylinder with this bad boy because it turns out 26 years without cleaning that it builds up an extreme amount so after I cleaned it, I installed a catch can and it works like a charm

This catch can only works for the pcv side though, not the ccv side going from left side cam cover to intake. You effectively need a catch can that is connected to both PCV and CCV

Only needed for direct injection engines ;) port inject engine cleans itself. Tough you can install one if you want. Dont forget to empty it weekly when living in colder climate, because it wil be full of water ( condense) and if that goes into engine, big problems.

An AOS is a much better option. I ran dual catch cans on my WRX before i switched to an air-oil separator, now the oil is recirculated rather than wasted. That Z is super clean though

Do not use vacuum hose for this, it well just swell up with oil, its not made for oil. Use a fuel line NBR hose or a fuel line CPE hose. From experience.
