  • Catch Can Installation. If you have a turbocharged engine there is a chance of increased pressure build up in your engine. You need a place to vent it so you don't end up blowing out front or rear main seal gaskets. A catch can is just what you need to vent that pressure off.
    Here's the Catch Can Kit I used... I got the 10AN.

    On the top connector of the catch can, can you run a splitter to both valve covers and then use the bottom connector as a drain off back to the engine? For instance my timing cover has two fittings on it for a twin turbo return line but I'm only running one turbo so I could run the drain off the catch can to the other one.

      Hmmm. Really good idea! I never thought of that. But if the oil vapor has any fuel or condensation of any kind, you might not want to put that back in your engine. Interesting thought! I also have that same timing cover with one unused port. Don't 100% know...

      You would want a inline filter for that of some sort you wouldn’t want dirt and sludge building up in your timing cover I thought of the same thing going into the oil pan extra drain port

    What brand fittings and hose is this? Looks to be good quality? Would it be safe to run from a rear fuel cell under the car and connected to the frame rails? Great video. Thanks

    Very clean setup. What are you using for a drain plug on your catch can?

      I added a valve to the can with a lock on it. I think it's in the video. Have not hooked tubing or anything to it yet though. Thanks.

    You're heading for some trouble with that Elbow and clamp on the Throttle body with boost, sir.

    • @BlitzMolinFab
      @BlitzMolinFab  2 месяца назад

      Yeah I've wondered about that but don't plan on boosting that much. Maybe 6-8 pounds. It's just a fun little street car. No racing. If it blows out I'll change it. What do you suggest? One of those v-band style connectors?

  • @barenekid9695

    OR run a Large Bore (minimizing flow restrictions is V important... as is Individually venting each valve cover if you have a V engine)) hose... NOT some teeny 1/2" bore piece of Garden hose equivalent) from Breather Vent(s) to exit below the car.
    A catch can only collects the yuck oils and still vents the ugly gasses to atmosphere.
    Totally Messing emission anyways.. so why add damaging venting restrictions (there is No longer vacuum assist with that goofy catch can.) and complexity and yet another maintenance item. 🙂

    Vented to atmosphere catch cans are illegal due to emission laws in a lot of states and countries especially on cars built over the the last 30 years or so since emmision laws became more stringent

      Interesting. I'll have to look into that. I put one on my 2016 EcoBoost Mustang, but I put it in line with the PCV. Never gave that a thought. Thanks for the comment.
