Rush: Tom Sawyer Drum Cover

So, people have been requesting a Rush drum cover. Honestly, I didn't think I could do it. I used to play a lot of Rush in my younger days, but I'm not a young man anymore. Honestly, hardest part about this song is not necessarily the technique required to play it, but playing it in time and the amount of cymbal work involved. But it's one of the classic drum tracks. Feel free to air drum along!

That's just excellent! I've been a Rush fan since about 1977, I was a Sophomore in High School then. An outstanding little 3 piece band! Taking on anything Neil played for a video project must seem pretty daunting, I'd image. I think the master would approve of your efforts. Great job, David!

Thanks Tom. Yeah, not an easy task. Peart was so precise and there was so many changes in their songs, it's a challenge.

Ha! Thanks. I had to pull out a few additional cymbals. I didn't have any more drums, used all I had. I would love to have a kit the size of Peart's but I probably wouldn't know what to do with all of it.

No to both. I would think you have to mash pretty hard to break hats.

I like it! I wasn't sure Tom Sawyer could be played on a smaller kit, but here we are 🙂
