My fav game of all. I'm godlike in arcade and n64 port. I wish they would have left the stage knockoffs like the arcade instead of the lower quality falls. The dojo was the best.
Kim's and Maya's. Their designs are terrible too. The devs were like "we need more hot girls in our game to sell it" but it's so obvious. Their redesign in KI3 really saved them.
Knowing that they were competing with games like Mortal Kombat and Primal Rage, I don’t know why they didn’t make the finishing moves better. Some are just stupid
Agreed. The first Killer Instinct felt smoother and more polished. One of the first things I noticed about KI2 is how the music took a major hit in quality. It soundtrack doesn’t sound as nice, and feels like they compressed the sound compared to the original game. Not to mention that the soundtrack feels generic as a whole.
@@MrSamPhoenixwhat the fuck no???? ki2 is better than 1 in every conceivable way how can you say the soundtrack is worse like WHAT????? the only thing 1 has over 2 is that theres no riptor in 2

Only things that're decisively worse in KI 2013 are the finishers, a handful of the redesigns and the new announcer. Only a few characters have Ultimates, and those have too much self-censorship. And certain redesigns are WAY over the top like Glacius's and Riptor's, like there was some sort of mandate that every character be all elaborate and shit to show off the Xb1's power. Riptor especially looks lame needing cybernetics to compete. And the new announcer's bootleg AF. But the Ultras, including the Stage Ultras, are still cool. And the old announcer's still there. But roster- and serious gameplay-wise, it's not even a contest-2013 stomps the OGs. There's actual play variety, meaningful gimmicks and honest-to-God strategy both within and outside the iconic combo system, and everyone returns alongside new faces and guests, among them a freaking _Battletoad._ Everything else is just taste.

They missed such an opportunity here i agree with so many people that it was rushed and very apparent. You could see the animation upgrades vs where they just didnt follow through. In fact, in 96 that stage fatality was ahead of mk in my eyes.....what could have been guys.
Sadly most of the finishers in this game felt like an afterthought, especially considering the ones in the first game, which also had humiliations. I read it was cause this sequel was rushed to release and they had to make some cuts to some original plans.
The biggest issue was that the team got split in half at the half way point of the arcade's development. Half focused on finishing the arcade version, while the other half started working on the N64 version.

I remember when this came out back in the day it looked so f*cking dated. Tekken 2 was out a year or so prior and it was absolutely stunning with its cool character designs and beautiful lighting effects and shading. Then this appeared with its goofy assed, big eyed, disproportioned, bobbled headed new characters. Somehow it looked worse than the original game, with all characters now suffering the same doll-like, deformed appearance. Look at TJ Combo's model here compared to part 1, for example. On top of that, the finishers were severely lacking any sort of imagination and finesse. Most of them are things dropping in on characters, and the quality is much worse than part 1; looking more like something you'd see in Kasumi Ninja or one of the pound shop MK games.
I can only play one character, and that is Sabrewulf, who still has his back-forward punch/ kick attacks, making his combos easier than other characters.

I think KI2 had the best Saberwulf in the franchise, but yeah, I don't like anyone else in this game either and find them too complicated. After playing KI2 for this video for the first time, I also think that Killer Instinct Gold is a trash port in hindsight.
@@MforMovesets Yea Saberwulf was Really good. Your right about that
@@OS97360 He looked ugly in KI1 and like a rat in the new KI, in KI2 he had an awesome evil face and those cool blade claws.
@@MforMovesets even tho he lost his Arms them Cybernetic ones In KI2 are wicked. And in The New one with the retro Saberwulf he does look like a Rat 😂😂
@@OS97360 He looks creepy when his meter is full and his eyes glow though with the retro costume. But it sucks he doesn't have the cybernetic arms costume.
Ultra combos here were smaller and less impressive than KI 1
Orchid looked like Michael Jackson 😂😂
Janet Jackson was the face model.
Also maya and Kim Who. The KI team had a boner with Jackson 🤣
I have this on xbox the game is to hard😭😭
I can only play one character, and that is Sabrewulf, who still has his back-forward punch/ kick attacks, making his combos easier than other characters.
Hold left on d pad and x at same time for 3 seconds then let go at the same time for saberwolf finisher
I think Killer Instinct 2 looks better than KI 1.
Heresy!
How come they took out Riptor, Thunder, and Cindar in this game?
Yeah noone knows. They replaced them with sexy ladies because other games did it that time. 🤣 But Mayas and Kimwus old designs are kinda cringe.
Salvo los de Tusk y otro por allí, el resto de fatalitys son horribles, y pensar que Club NIntendo le echaba hartas flores a este juego.
3:46 - la única razon por la cual me paraba a echar un ojo a la máquina...
Everything about KI2 was weaker than KI
The gameplay is fine but it was too early for 2,5D fighting games. Its so ugly.
Killer Instinct 2 feels like a low budget movie compared to the first classic, terrible.
Always disliked this game, I really hated Kim Wu and missed Riptor and Cinder very much! Tusk and Maya were good additions though.
K1 still holds better then k2 and the shitty Xbox version
Didn't even power the combos up.
Garbage.
Doesn't even do something with his life. Garbage.
Yes
