    Seeing that my strength is close to yours while im way slower solidifies my though that I was too weight room focused. Need to getting speed work in this summer. Way too much weights and endurance work

      Yeah it’s always about balanced training, and figuring out what works for you the best! 100% being sharp both out of the blocks and in your top end mechanics is the number 1

    As a sprinter, it's help me a lot, thanks you. How do you judge "power" for the 60M please ?

    • @joeferguson200
      @joeferguson200  6 месяцев назад +1

      I’m glad you find the content valuable! I use power loosely to combine my strength in the gym with my acceleration ability on the track. I class it separately to “acceleration” itself as that relies on other factors regarding my technique and sharpness too

  • @dTristras

    Joe you are such an intellectual of the sport- impressive at your age !!!! 👉😉 Great great test week
    It might be difficult for you to include so much content but Id also like if some of your mates briefly let us know their times in practise along with their Pbs so that athletes warching the videos could visualize what is really like running along with a world class sprinter like you

    What height box do you use? Just curious for my own training.

    • @joeferguson200
      @joeferguson200  6 месяцев назад

      For box squats I’m not sure the exact height but we always just place 2x 25kg plates on top of a bench

  • @fredfordham574
    @fredfordham574 6 месяцев назад +2

    I have only seen you doing front squats in your gym training so i was surprised to see you doing box squats for gym testing. Are box squats only done for testing leg strength or do you also include them in your gym program? Its very confusing as to what works best from all the different squat variations, back squats(1/4, 1/2, full), front squats and box squats.

    • @joeferguson200
      @joeferguson200  6 месяцев назад +2

      I do both front and box squat, front squat to build up my raw strength and box squat for leg stiffness and power. I think finding a good balance of what works for you is always best, just box squats works for most people but I’m trying to work on my front squat
