    I bought this hitch for my trip from maine to alaska. I was towing a 38' tt with a 2016 f350 srw. Trailer weighed in at 12300 loaded.
    I am overall very happy with this hitch. It was super easy to install. The first few stops i thought the pressure was bleeding off. I would check the pressure when we stopped and it would be 50-200 lbs less than what i set it at. So i would pump it back up to where it should be. Then i noticed that after one stop the pressure was 200 psi above where i had set it. Turns out that the psi reading changes quite a bit if you are the slightest bit out of level. So i made sure i was on the most level surface i could find, leveled the trailer out with the hitch, noted the pressure, and made three marks on the frame, one near the tongue and one at each forward corner of the frame. I measured the distance from the ground to these three marks while on that level surface. I marked these down and measured this distance each time i stopped. Long story a little less long, if the measurments were off from my baseline, the pressure would be off from my setpoint by quite a bit.
    As far as sway control goes, i am pretty amazed at how much sway control it actually provides. If anyone has pulled a 40' bumper pull you know how much of a sail they are. There were a few times in my 6800 mile trip that we encountered decent side winds. While there was some movement in some strong side winds, it never felt near the limit or close to out of control. The only time i got nervous was on on a straight stretch in eastern montana. We were experiencing strong side winds from the drivers side. A tractor trailer passed me in the left lane and as he took the brunt of the wind off me it pulled us towards him. It shifted me over about a foot. I never felt out of control, it was just surprising to have happen after almost 3000 miles of no issues. I would attribute it more to extreme circumstances rather than a shortcoming of the hitch.
    As far as people worring it sits really low going down the road, while it does sit low, i never had a problem and nothing ever dragged. Our trip through western canada and alaska had close to 500 miles of dirt and gravel road. The roads near destruction bay canada are notorious for very poor conditions and frost heaves that claim quite a few trailers. There are washouts everywhere and potholes that literally swallow trucks if you arent paying attention. We went through it all, and not once did the hitch drag.
    The only issue i have had was that while making a very tight unlevel turn, the foot of my tongue jack came into contact with one of the leaf springs on the hitch. It put a little knick in it that i covered with some epoxy. The hitch instructions say that it works with a 6" jack foot and that is what i have. Again, i think i just put it in an extreme situation that was at the edge of what it is designed to handle. No fault of the hitch.
    Overall i cant recommend it enough and am entirely satisfied with the purchase.

      Could you please give the tongue weight of your trailer? I have a 38’ toy hauler weighs just under 12,000# and the tongue is around 1,900. I know the manufacturer says up to 1,600 for tongue just wondering if I could get lucky and make this work. I really like the ease and simplicity of it

      @Johnnytito321 my tongue weight fully loaded is about 1400lbs.

      Are you still liking the B&W Continuum? We are considering it for a Ram 3500 SRW pulling a 32' bumper pull weighing around 10,000lbs with 1,250 tongue weight. I've seen lots of people liking the Equalizer 4-point system. The B&W appears easier to hitch/unhitch. Just want to make sure it works well. Thank you!

    That was a nice neat show. Thank you for inviting us on your family outing. Those boats looked pretty cool.

    The boat parade was awesome !! And that hitch set up is really nice. One thing I noticed, being a charter member of Over-Thinkers Anonymous, was how low to the ground the break away cable looked to be riding (minute 7:36). My luck I’d have to straddle a chunk of truck tire rubber and snag it with the cable.

    Finally someone talked about how easy it will be to switch the Continuum WDH between tow vehicles. I’ve watched many videos about WDH’s and knew immediately, when I saw the Continuum, this is the WDH we would need. But nobody until this video ever discussed the simplicity of switching it between tow vehicles.
    We’re considering our first RV. Looking at 1/2 ton towable trailers b/c we have three 1/2 ton truck’s between my wife & I, our son’s family and our daughter.’s family. We’re wanting a trailer all of us can tow with our respective trucks. The WDH was a huge concern when we first started to think about an RV. The Continuum eliminates the concern, time and effort of switching between our trucks.

    I’ve now had the hitch for a year now. I’ve taken it hunting on gravel roads and many other places where it was close but I’ve never had a major issue with the clearance.

    I use the Eaz-Lift Recurve r3. I highly recommend that hitch for anyone with ground clearance issues being that the WD bars mount on top of the hitch so they run parallel to the top of the trailer tongue.

    I’d like to see your review on that hitch after a long interstate trip with semi’s constantly passing on how the truck suck and trailer sway are.
    I recently switched from an old chain up style WDH to an equalizer and it’s Night and Day difference as far as sway control goes.

    The parade of boats is really cool. I wish we had something like that here in the MD area.
    I am curious how the WDH handles sway control. Our Access 30BH has a lot of trailer behind the rear axle so we use our Blue OX just for sway control and not so much weight distribution.

    My Arctic Fox 25R sits quite high and my F250 is high so I have a lot of ground clearance with my hitch. I too found that I needed to lower my hitch somewhat compared to the way they suggest doing it by measurements. Still consider it a fantastic hitch.

    Anderson hitch has 2 bolts to adjust the height, but other than that would be easy to switch tow vehicles.

    What is the distance from the ground to the top of the receiver? That would help to know because my F450 with Torklift extension and truck camper is about 19 inches

    Have noticed any bleed off. We just bought a new trailer 3 weeks ago and the continuum hitch is what I installed at the dealership the day of pickup. I noticed a little bleed off when we stop a few miles in to the trip home. The first trip out I noticed the same thing and tightened the jam nut up with a wrench. Which what I have seen says not to tighten with a wrench. Seems like the snug up on the jam but is the trick. We have moved the trailer several times now every time has been the same.
    I have been running mind about 1800 and it will drop to about 1500 after about 30 mins of driving. My tongue weight is around 900 since we loaded the camper.

      @BigTruckBigRV  7 месяцев назад +1

      I've noticed no bleed off, however, depending on the angle and the terrain, the dial will show less or more pressure. I noticed it showed around 900psi when at a sharp angle and a slight slope and it returned to 1300psi when I straightened and was level again.

    Did you have to relocate the propane tanks? We have a Surveyor 19rble and there is very little space between the jack and the tank bracket.

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  7 месяцев назад

      I did not. There was clearance even though it was close to the tank cover.

    What kind of strain does weight distribution hitch put on RV Frame?

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  7 месяцев назад +1

      All weight distribution hitches, if effective, will put a torsional load on your trailer frame. This is also a reason you need to follow the correct torque and setup specs specs. Even then, if you are trying to aggressively to distribute the load, you could potentially weaken the A frame on any trailer.

      You have no idea what I "give" to people less fortunate. I work my tail off for what I have and purchase. I also give to deserving people alot more than you think.
