I just finished making one half of this bag for my friend’s bday gift :) I used the written pattern and it was super easy to follow, this was my first time following like a color coded pattern(?), I was so afraid I’d mess up and my waves would come out all bad but nah this was SO EASY, I love it!!! I made mine white and gold 😎
Wonderful tutorial and pattern!! My second time crocheting a bag and I really love how it turned out. However, please remember yarn size! Mine were the same size, but different materials and my panels ended up being 8x8.5. I ended up adding 6-7 more rows to lengthen the bag and I'm satisfied with it. Also shortened the strap length so it could look similar to that of a baguette bag or shoulder bag (the currently very trendy ones). Sidenote: i love your voice! It's so soothing and your step by step tutorial was so so helpful and informative❤ I can't wait to try another project you've got on your channel

Btw I forked up w thickness of my yarn in checkered bag and bought quite thin one and it ended up looking better if crocheting w 3mm hook. And girl it'll take me forever. To end w the size of the bag I wanted I needed to do a damn 100 chains and 10 rows for a square. And also I can't crochet all day ( or most of it, so i work on the bag for 2-3 h before sleep), so 3 days later today I started THE 2ND ROW OF CHECKERED SQUARES. so what I wanted to say, try not to do like me. Choose thicker yarn and hook

i think she made a mistake at 45:42 by using the purple color, i went back and made it pink and continued the pattern and mine ended up looking like hers on the next row (her video shows decreasing on the next row, not the current row) but im not sure
Ahhh I love this design so much! Just a question - would I be able to make this bag in half double crochets, or would the pattern be wonky. I usually prefer hdc for bags as it’s looser rather than being stiffer…
