Such an impressive race
Because Englehardt is so young her upward improvement curve could be amazing this year. I definitely see her competing for a spot on the Olympic team.
Event is pretty strong for u.s. standards. I don't see a high School junior being in the 3:57 shape she will need to be in to make that team. But nonetheless it will be fun to track her progress
She peaked early
The standard to be eligible for the Olympic is 4:02.50. There are multiple US women who have made that mark, Englehardt is not one of them. There is a softer requirement to get to the US Olympic trials, so she may get an invitation, but only those who have met the Olympic standard (or do so at the trials) are eligible to actually make the team. She will not be on this year’s Olympic team.
Sadie is quickly becoming one of my favorite runners.
Fr not only is she and incredible runner she seems really humble and makes me wanna be a good runner too
When in high school I ran a 4:13 at my first meet. I soon switched to golf. I loved running but can’t run around the house today. Congrats!!
Girl fast......we Americans got some talent coming up.
Whoever is coaching this girl needs to take a bow. That was flawless.
she needs even more of this. has been held back by restrictive state rules that keep CA high schoolers from running against fast competition and she hasnt had any real in state competition since Frias graduated. glad shes taken the next step. CIFs loss is her gain.
Highschooler making 'em question what a pro contract really means
Anyone can have an amazing race on any given day.
@@BenMJay Agreed, but nobody beats a pro field just cause they feel good.
She's a national highschool mile record holder. All those pros went to highschool and she's better than all of them at that age. Most likely she's more talented than all the other runners in that field.
her size and strength sets her apart
Yasss Sadie 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Atta girl Sadie!!!!!!!
Go Sadie😮
Out standing
In the recent Clovis Cross Country race..a premier distance race for California high schoolers..Sadie set a new course record beating rival Rylee Blade in a great race..
That’s quick. I did 4:05 on a cinder track way back when as a junior. But to think the girls would ever push me is hard to imagine , but this group I would have had to have taken very very seriously !
Great race
Impressive!!
Thanks for telling us the winner in the title...
The people a FloTrack...........are just S T U P I D
She will be 19 come track season as a senior in high school, Should be setting some pretty wild times by then.
Very impressive. I have to comment on the 2 girls wearing the modest shorts! Especially the green shorts. From a dad, Thank you girls for the example you set for our young daughters!
yeah, never worked out why lots of women run in bikinis, cant imagine the reaction if men started to streamline and ran in budgie smugglers and crop tops, think the shorts look much better imo
bro what😭
They run in what is comfotable and the least weight. For a guy the best is shirtless but most meets don't like it. Keeping the body cool is a big advantage.
I remember Mary Decker (now Slaney) running at what was then the pro-elite level at Sadie Englehardt's age. Why not? She's got the wheels.
I watched Mary Decker running with the elite women at the Times indoor meet back in 1974. She was 15 at the time, and it wasn't her first elite event.
@@thku4grace I saw her at the Times Indoor Games in 1973. I might have been at that meet a year later. She didn't even look like she hit puberty yet, but she could outrun the older elites like Francie Larrieau.
@@JohnHoulgate I likely was at that meet too. My dad, brother and myself attended for like 4 or 5 straight years in early 70s.
What I like about her besides her age is her size. She's the biggest girl out there and is already comfortable performing with the added weight. Wait till she has gets a little older and becomes more finely seasoned. Barring injuries, she could become a monster in the event.
"finely seasoned" lmao
good luck . many women young stars burn bright and. then.....
As you likely know, Sadie has committed to NC State for 2025-- she's only a junior. What fascinates me most about her is her physique: she is not a pre-pubescent forest sprite: she is a woman carrying around a significant amount of adult weight. If she can run this fast as a young adult, what will she achieve as she emerges into full womanhood, with curated training, nutrition and support? NC State is the perfect place for her when she moves on. It just occurred to me: what if she is so successful that she decides to delay college and go pro all the way? YIKES!!
Hmmmm, not certain if she be eligible to compete with NC, doesn't becoming a "pro", preclude her from NCAA sanction meets? Regardless Junior in HS and she is rolling with the elite, wow!
Lauren come back to COLORADO 🫶🏔️
🐺🐺🐺
With someone prepared to lead, might we not have expected a faster time?
The track had the moving lights for the time. They knew where they were as to pacing, but they were racing once the pacer stepped off.
Why did that girl in the very front at the beginning quit?
That was her job. She's a pacer.
Go Sadie!!! Taking down Lauren Gregory is no easy feat, eventhough Lauren has been away for a while.
This ain't no high school race, then proceeds to beat all the pros! Nice commentary...smdh 😂
Terrible camera angles from flotrak. What is this, the Larry and mo crew filming this stuff? Bunch of amateurs!
Americans should run the mile. The 1500 is a silly race.
