How was this almost 26 years ago now... Man, I'm getting old. That Vikings team looked destined to win it all. Best team to never even make the Super Bowl and it's not even close.
And the rams won the Superbowl the next year seems so hard to believe watching this version dam a quarterback and the marshal plan just amazing the turn around
As a Packer fan I always love watching my most hated rival play. Little did I know what Brad Johnson’s injury would lead the Vikings to that season. An ass whooping on the Packers at Lambeau on a Monday night. I was so happy to see Randy Moss traded to the Raiders a few years later. Best WR I’ve ever seen play
Just seeing Robert Smith and all of those great plays and him just being humble. I wish players these days would act like that. I understand wanting to get excited, the players these days just want to show off like letting the ball drop on the ground before they cross the goal line. Just toss the ball to the ref and go to the sideline to celebrate
Interesting that both the PBP and the color man for this game were both former players… that hasn’t happened often (Summerall/Madden doesn’t count, as Madden never played a down in the pros)
Nope, Warner wasn't the starter in '98. In fact, he wasn't going to be the Rams starting QB in '99 until the low shot on Trent Green by Rodney Harrison in a preseason game against SD.
No, this was before anyone knew who he was, besides fans of the Iowa Barnstormers. Warner was their third stringer. All even teammates knew was that he seemed to run the scout team pretty well.

Stussie, McDaniel, Christy, Dixon and Stringer was an unbelievable O-line.

Pitts was terrible on Fox!
@@s.tavares3257 how about Bentley?
@@richyquehe was ok.
I liked Ron Pitts
He was ok as a sideline announcer, but terrible as a color/play by play. He talked too damn much.
Was Kurt Warner injured for this game?
No. Warner was a third string QB for the Rams in 1998.

He didn't play until the last game of the season.

Skol!
