- Full review of the new 2020 oex expedition tarp,
This new green tarp is a lot better then there old black Bush Pro tarp,
Camouflage into the woodland when stealth camping is very important so this new oex expedition tarp will help me hide away in the woods perfect,
Also the oex expedition tarp will be great to for when I am out using my oex salamanda hooped pole bivi as a rain over,

Had mine for about 8 years. Got the black one, poles are long gone but tarp still going strong! Lovely bit of kit👌🏻
I bet they haven't double stitched those tie outs at the corner on purpose as that's the direction it pulls/stretches in - you want a chain stitch along the direction of force so it has some give without coming undone.

Agree with you on those orange lines. I know it's for visibility but I trip over them anyway 😄, so might just as well make them dark .

@@englishwoodsman I'm looking forward to your bobcat/tarp combo review. One thing I forgot to say in mine was that the plastic line locks on the tarp felt a bit flimsy compared to the aluminium ones on the bobcat.

Hi, looking for a new tarp for bikepacking and looking at the oex tarps. Only thing putting me of is for some reason they dont state pack size and weight which is crucial for me

Weird question... Does anyone know if the carry bag for this is one of their waterproof bags? It looks to be the same as the water proof tent bags but not too sure? Its for strapping onto a motorbike so it can be usefull to know this stuff!!

I had a tarp I bought a few years ago and it was only single stitch so I brought it to the dress makers and they ran it through the sewing machine and it was perfect only cost me €10 to get a double stitch

I might start getting some of that stuff Dan, a lot people i know seem to swear by it but i also know others that swear at it, I'll see. I got a tarp online 5.4 x 4 metres - I think it's bigger than I thought ...lol, but that's fine. I was thinking i can get a smaller one as well. I needed a larger tarp to cover my tent, bike and trailer. It's good when companies listen to their customers though.

The bright colour cords are best so you don’t trip over them like you could with green at dusk
I just don't see why Green tarp them bright orange cords
English Woodsman I think it’s because they show up better when it’s getting dark, green ones would just blend in and you might trip over them.

yes the orange cordage make it look very cheap but they are probably thinking along the lines of visibility . have a word with them they have to listen to their number 1 customer.you should be made ambassador by now lol.atb.

English Woodsman nice one bru I don’t use go outdoors unless I go to Plymouth (50miles away) but I do live within walking distance to a millets which I use a lot the website’s have load of offers which is great! Lol go outdoors is a bit of a holiday for me I do enjoy going and spending the day looking at everything 8)
