Easy Birthday Cake For Boys-Homemade Cake Fail Turned Grocery Store Cake Hack

This video began as a plan to make a delicious home-made cake for my twins' joint birthday party which turned into an epic fail. After filming what I thought was a great video on how to make this cake, I pulled it from the oven to realize that it was in fact terrible. Just not a good cake at all!
Its okay, I thought, buttercream can save anything. It cannot. Buttercream could not save this cake, so with some encouragement from my mom and husband that I would not be letting down my children if I opted to forgo staying up into the morning to bake two new home-made cakes and rather used the original decorating plan on two grocery store cakes, this fail became a (potentially just as epic) easy birthday cake for boys hack using a combination of home made buttercream and store bought cake.
