Hey, you can get the pinion out easier, only thing you need to do is remove the two screws on top of the sliding motor mount, and the one under. Then you can just slide it out holding it in your hand and change it from there. Great video showing that heat is neccesary 👍
Great tutorial 👌. I managed to round off the bottom motor mount due to not applying enough heat. It was a pain to extract because its buried behind the chassis but after 1 half hours got it out. Arrma and their threadlock addiction 🤨 Anyhow this is the best pinion change tutorial I've seen. Good job.
Wanted to let anyone know who is changing the pinion on the kraton 8s there is a way easier way. I noticed I could only find a few videos online showing this done and both that I found take apart alot of things. I simply used a micro heat gun from Amazon for $20, ten seconds on the two top motor mount bolts and ten seconds on the one under chasis and simply removed the entire motor. Not necessary to remove anything else at all. Once out another ten seconds on the pinion set screw, put new one on and applied new locktite on all 4 bolts removed. Took me less than 10 minutes start to finish and I never done it before.
@@MoBay876rc will i get over 50 mph??? Is a 23t pinion a good choice, and what other simple tune could I do without compromising the truck to improve speed(pls help me!!!)
@rcusa201 damnnn 120 thats sick bro but yea i feel u on that luckily for me the pinion cant fall out due to thr tight spacing on the kraton but if it came loose on the infraction itd be a different story lol but i feel that i just wonder how hard its going to be removing it but worse case scenario i remove the whole motor off the mount thatll make it easier to heat up
@@rcusa201 my stock pinion came loose on its own so I got lucky. I just loosened the top bolts and that was it. I went with a 23t pinion. 26t I think it's too much for the stock electronics TBH.
I'm waiting for my Kraton, to be delivered in a few days. I'm trying to decide on either the 25t pinion or 26t pinion. Are there any temperature issues on the Motor and ESC with the 26t pinion installed? I want it to wheelie easily, so I'm going to up the punch to 4 or 5 & Chang the pinion.

Nicely done. “This lil guy”...is impressed..😉
Oh man this is literally chaos unleashed 26t!
I have the same gear on mine I'm getting 59.3 mph
@@MoBay876rc what s the best pinion, without changing esc ecc...

The blue didnt do it for it (without safety clip) it came loose next day so i used red this time...thanks for the video
I use red always not days blue suck I lost pinion on typhon 6s at 120mph no brakes

Mine luckily wasn't like this! Mine was manufactured in 2022 though. Maybe they got enough complaints
There is a hole in the side guard so you can stick a tool through I to get to the pinion grub screw with out taking the side guard off.
megadads1 yeah but so much glue I rather just take it off

Rc enthusiast. Put sum thread lock
@@rcusa201 Yeah I did. The red one actually 👍
@@joseCalderon1976 hey is there much of an different from 23 to 24 or 25
Hey great video man...very detailed in your explanation 👍🏾
Stubanshuber I thanks bro it was worth doing it the truck is super fast and strong
Can't wait to see it run 💨💨💨
What's good bro I have the same gears I'm getting 59.3 mph hope all is good with you bro 👊🏾💯👑
MOBAY 876 RC no over heating problems ?
The grub screw is metric, not standard.. hence the stripping
Ur videos really helped me out, thanks👍🏾

No temp issue depends on ur climate temp but it will heat more than normal also u gonna have shorter run time on battery
Like #30 Great video bro 👍🏾
How does the heat help the screw come out ?
It’s softens up the thread lock
2.5mm won’t fit to loose and 3mm to big not sure what size is
What gear? 5mm
Yes I got it after destroy it / pinion gear / motor mount / and motor shaft. I bought all new and installed bigger Hex heads 🙈 big money mistake
I just bought a 24T u think it will go on with no problem?
Ofc should be good leads heat on esc also I put 26T
Nice rig
MGundayao81 man wait till u see the videos it’s a beast
Where did you find that pinion? Thanks
u should have one in the package but u can buy one from ur local hobby shop
26t is gonna cause overheating??
It’s been good so far even in summer
You need a better sodering gun man that torch can do hell of melting to that bad boy if it was a xmaxx you would of melted half the truck
