I just got this as a gift. My lack of masterpiece experience makes it a tricky transformation, but I'll get used to it. Some joints are scary tight, but he's so charming!
Used to play metal slug all the time in the arcade at the ski resort near me with my friends when I was a kid. Never realized how much I’d love a transforming mech version of the tank. Just went and immediately ordered this. I’m so hype for it to get here.
Wait? Where did you buy it, it was sold out like everywhere yesterday. I mean congrats, I'm happy for you, but I was bummed to think all the people asking about it yesterday weren't getting one.
Up until now I didn't know this guy existed. I don't know what I was expecting but this looks like an absolutely AMAZING figure, and to think it's an official figure, at a COMMANDER CLASS PRICE POINT. The individually articulated fingers. The light up features. The overall *design* of this thing. Thank you for bringing my attention to the existence of this figure, Perspective, this video alone makes me quite the fan of it. I don't think I've seen you love a figure this much!
I mean it's an Official SNK Metal Slug Figure, not an Official Transformer, but yes. It really does show what can be done at the price point. You are welcome, I just hope they Restock this quickly.
And the fans rejoiced! I just…I can’t even…it’s just so gooooood!!!! For the love of SNK it’s such a good tank boi! I never knew I needed a Metal Slug transformer but I’m glad I live in a timeline where we got it!
Something tells me the executive in charge of this only had the stipulation that it look screen accurate and gave the job of designing it to a mad genius.
I just realized something that can be done with this figure, color the figure red, switch out the head for another, transform it to have the tank turret be seen in robot mode, and BAM you have a warpath retool.
This would be something super cool to army build with. Maybe if they had some ones with a couple of different heads so you could have different style of troops that’d be awesome.
A few years ago, I had this idea where gamers could enter the digital world and use weapons and items from different games to destroy glitches/bugs/bad games. They could also be given the power of specific game characters (given by those same game characters) and turn it nto armor, granting them a stat boost and special abilities that only that character would have (i.e. Galaga Armor gives you the ability to fly by transforming into a mini space jet, and gives you the abiilty to partner up with another Galaga Armor for maximum attack) something like the Ride Amors from Kamen Rider Xi-O (look it up). This figure reminds me of that idea.
I actually commented three months ago saying that I had bought this and I have come back today to say that today, I felt like grabbing it fiddling with it and watching this video in particular, it is just so damn good. It is my first big, masterpiece style transformer, and it is utter perfection, if you have the money to spare, please buy it, it’s an 11/10 the only problem I have with my figure is the shoulder joints are too tight and it kind of untransforms it when I move them, but other than that it is perfection
Henceforth, our little tank guy, you should be known as... Bang-Bang, an Autobot-allied transformer, who prefers live a peaceful life on his own, as a kind neutral
Thanks for the review! I've never played Metal Slug, but I love this toy. I think the monoeye works because it's a transforming mech and not a sentient robot.
My husband got one for me. Came in last week. He is FANTASTIC. The finish is beautiful, it's huge, and I've gotten more enjoyment out of it than I expected.
That's awesome. Such a great figure. I don't see that happening with this. If I had to guess this is Stainless steel, but I don't know for sure, and unless it's humid beyond belief where you live I don't see how it's going to get Oxidized.
Hooray. My first package from ShowZ to get lost in the mail. Got it now though and dude, this is nice. Admittingly, I'm kind of a..... I don't want to say fake fan. But very much a casual fan of Metal Slug. My brother and I found a cabinet as kids while mini-golfing. Then I eventually bought the collection on the Wii. My memories of this franchise are few, but fond. Anyways, my usual points: 1. These joints ABSOLUTELY need that 1st transformation loosening. maybe even 2 or 3. 2. The ankle pegs aren't giving me any trouble. It might just be on a few of them. 3. The slots in the hands are weird. But you can at least peg the HEAVY MACHINE GUNS on the outside of his elbows in the middle of the "wheel". 4. You called him "Sluggy" and I just realized he doesn't have a name. That name will suffice, but I'll be thinking of a better one. 5. I am slightly let down by the posability. BUT, that might have something to do with the fact I got Eris Kultur Alt. a few days ago and I got spoiled. Who am I kidding, that is ABSOLUTELY what it is. It isn't Sluggy's fault he can't Jojo pose like a dream. 6. Tasty ratchet joints. Basically, if you look at this thing and say, "that's neat", GET HIM. He is big, quite poseable, has glowey bits, and is ONLY $80. That is the same price as Newage Starscream, a 3rd party legends scale figure. Admittingly I love him too, but Sluggy here definitely puts those prices into perspective.
I'm sorry to hear about your lost package, did they just send you a replacement, or did it just arrive after forever? I've been playing Metal Slug since I was like 10 but, I've never actually played it in arcades. 1 Oh yeah, that paint makes him stiff. 2 Well I'm glad to hear that, mine just can't stay on, they are more attached to each other than the figure it self. 3 I hadn't noticed there were other spots for the Vulcan guns. 4 Yeah that's what I was trying to do with that name... Give it anything to be called. 5 He poses great, but I try to tell people, Eris Kultur is one of those Top Tier posing figures that only MMC or MS can make. 6 Normally I'm not one for ratchets, but they are great here. AHHHH!!! I see what you did there.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, they just sent out another one. I also just noticed that the skinny end of the Antenna on the back are snapped short. One was loose in the package, and the other seems to have vanished. Given I didn't notice until now, I don't think it'll bother me that much. I might just sand them smooth. I'm also not sure how you are supposed to peg in the pistons going back to tank mode. But out of fear of them snapping off, I think I'm okay with it. 3. I only found that feature because I remembered some promo images with him wielding them in some way. And most of my puns are intentional...... That one wasn't.

Wow, that looks like a great figure! Makes me wanna try getting it as someone who got into Metal Slug a few years ago. The only thing I think it could have is a handheld blaster modeled a bit after the guns in the game & a mini-figure or two of the playable characters. Last time I heard of that figure was I think in a JobbytheHong video where he said “is it me or has it been a while since that figure was announced & still hasn’t released yet?”. Glad to see it eventually got released. I got introduced to the series via encountering a arcade cabinet of the first game during one of my cousin’s Birthday parties. I had a bit of hard time via me not getting used to arcade sticks yet (I’m more of a keyboard & D-pad kind of guy), but I still had a lot of fun despite me sucking at parts. Makes me wonder how a Metal Slug game where the Slug can transform into that could work. Kinda hoping that becomes a thing someday.
@@PerspectiveEnd Metal Slug can get pretty goofy at times, with how the Rebel Soldiers can act at times, so I think a blaster modeled after a Heavy-Machine-Gun could work a bit. Not really, my cousin just had his Birthday party in a restaurant with a decent amount of arcade cabinets there. And Metal Slug was one of them.
6:00 When it comes to diecast metal in transformers, i have a similar philosophy to what you have when it comes to repro-labels. it shouldn't be used to make a bad toy feel good, but should only be used to make a good toy feel better. If a bad toy uses diecast to make it feel like quality, it's lying to your face. If a good figure like this uses diecast metal, it's likely just added as a nice addition to add a bit of extra heft and visual design to an already good figure. it's a bonus, not a lie.
I don't see them doing a Warpath Variant, considering this is an Official Metal Slug product that's not officially crossing over with the Transformers.
I remember Metal Slug so vividly. Played it on PS2. I couldn't get past the second level. I was 5 years old at the time. This is the one third party I want, since this is a new character based on the Metal Slug, and it's an official figure. And he looks so cute, even with the mask. Your feelings for this Metal Slug is my feelings for Kingdom Warpath. The black mask is definitely my preferred look though. I'm gonna buy this, but I'm so afraid that this is gonna be too big to enjoy. Speaking of transforming non-Transformers, have you bought the Metal Robot Spirits Zeta Gundam?
Yeah, Metal Slug is super hard. I like the Cuter eye because it makes it feel like it belongs in the game more, and less in Gundam or something. It's not too big to enjoy but it is 80 bucks, and you are going to have to wait for a Second run because it's sold out for now. I'm considering it.
I love metal slug, and the fact that there is a good figure representation of the titular metal slug, that can also transform, yeah I'd say it looks worth every penny. gotta save up for it one day :)
Disgaea 2. Such incredibly cultured taste. I'm so glad the PC version actually has all of the DLC instead of half of it being broken. Also, on the topic of Price Economy, I generally don't talk shit about 3P because they usually have a reason to charge as much as they do...but also since most of it is Masterpiece-Scale, it's more often than not significantly cheaper than Hastak's similarly scaled figures. Fanshobby's Master Builder line for example would be like...Triple the price it is if Hastak was selling it for the same figure. their Armada Megatron is $120 before shipping. Hasbro would probably jack that up to $360 and then pack a bunch of useless gubbins into the figure that inevitably end up in a plastic baggie. On the topic of Monoeyes, I feel they work for Piloted machines. something being crewed rather than a living Machine-Lifeform. which Metal Slug here absolutely would be a Crewed Robot rather than a living soldier on the front-lines.
I hate it when people try to Claim Disgaea 1 is the better game. No it's not. And while the games that came later had more Refined Gameplay, it was never this hard again, and it was never written HALF this well again. And yeah that's the hilarious thing. Their Economy of scale is Worse, yet HasTak charges more. But Binocular vision is super important, even in a Mech.
This is great, I was hoping this was gonna be great cause it’s just so cool and so super duper appealing to me, but I keep thinking “ohhhhh perspective is gonna say this is trashhhh” but now that you confirmed it’s a good figure, I will totally buy this
Wow! This looks cute, bad ass a d awesome at the same time! This is Masterpiece! With prices MP use to have before Fanstoys came in and gave Takara the idea to inflate the prices! This is AMAZING!
@@PerspectiveEnd I would love a red one. I’m not knowledgeable of metal slug at all but does the game not have iconic skins or something along those lines?
i just ordered this! I'm so excited for it. I don't own a transformers or any figure that's this good. I'm usually happy if I can get both waist rotation and wrist rotation on my figures XD
This seems to have the same build quality as TFC Lumintent. Not a TF character but still a fabulous piece. Surprisingly no one even talked about it. You should check it out if you get a chance.
this looks like if guzzle survived sotw and went through the empurata but escape in time before the hand replacement and started thinking about his past decisions and had a talk with tailgate
theres a part of me that said this because thats my first part while the other part is just desprete for more things wrecker related the last time i've seen wrecker related info is when shattered glass ultra magnus had a team of sg wreckers
Well now I'm convinced. I've been seeing this little guy advertised for a bit, and I love me some Metal Slug, but I was extremely skeptical. I guess now I have to go & find one.....
if hasbro did ever tackle this design for a crossover collars figure, this they would most likely use the kingdom warpath figure and heavily retool it. (and maybe find a way to no longer make it partsform too) but yeah this looks fucking sick as hell and beautiful at the same time.
I was gonna say you could probably build a house with the Neo Geo carts if you own the physical copy. Glad you put a size comparison for this figure. I knew about it, but didn't look into the details so I wasn't sure how big it was. I gotta play Metal Slug 6 one of these days. It's the only one I never played.
After having watched the review, this is what can officially be done with 80 bucks!? Yes please! And I think I'm going to go look for Metal Slug somewhere.
@@PerspectiveEnd no we haven't, and a character sheet is like a character you make or a personality you give a character that hasent been given a personality... like if megatron didn't exsist till today I would write hes a dad like veteran

Slag it. I will have this little precious beast in my claws as soon as I get my car sorted out. $80 is still a fairly large chunk of change. Maybe I can save up and treat myself on my birthday in a couple weeks...

@@PerspectiveEnd I was talking about the die cast metal
That would make sense.
@PerspectiveEnd yeah I was taking the name literally
Thx for the heart BTW

When it comes to diecast metal in transformers, i have a similar philosophy to what you have when it comes to repro-labels. it shouldn't be used to make a bad toy feel good, but should only be used to make a good toy feel better. If a bad toy uses diecast to make it feel like quality, it's lying to your face. If a good figure like this uses diecast metal, it's likely just added as a nice addition to add a bit of extra heft and visual design to an already good figure. it's a bonus, not a lie.
I have never played a metal slug game before. I have absolutely no attachment to this series.
I want this thing
You should, they are on Steam, and basically all consoles for like 5 bucks.
I’m not the biggest metal slug fan but I dig the design and if they somehow do a warpath variant I’m definitely getting it
I don't see them doing a Warpath Variant, considering this is an Official Metal Slug product that's not officially crossing over with the Transformers.
I really love your son and I hope he becomes a reoccurring character for the channel he’s so cute for a death robot
He may have to make some wider appearances.
It shouldn't take too long considering the figure is barely more expensive than a Video Game.
man! I didn't realise this thing was so big. I'm kinda tempted now. My brother and I sunk a lot o change into these games over the years.
I'd say go for it, it's great. Highest recommend from me, might be top of year.
First was masterpiece soundwave, NOW! THIS THING!
They aren't exactly twins but they are both my sons.
This is great, I was hoping this was gonna be great cause it’s just so cool and so super duper appealing to me, but I keep thinking “ohhhhh perspective is gonna say this is trashhhh” but now that you confirmed it’s a good figure, I will totally buy this
Unfortunately it seems to have sold out everywhere, so you are going to have to wait till the do a Rerelease.
@@PerspectiveEnd Well, the fact it was sold out is quite telling of the figure's quality don't you think??
😲 I must have !!!! I was sold on the tank alone but oh my God it transforms into a badass robot? Yes please !!!
It's too bad that it sold out in the time it took me to make this video, now you have to wait for a Second Run.
*The vehicle mode is reminding me of the Leman Russ Battle Tanks from Warhammer 40,000.*
I can totally see why. They do feel similar with the huge treads and the turret.
@@PerspectiveEnd *And the Leman Russ has an ACTUAL snub-nosed variant (Demolisher pattern).*
Wow! This looks cute, bad ass a d awesome at the same time! This is Masterpiece! With prices MP use to have before Fanstoys came in and gave Takara the idea to inflate the prices! This is AMAZING!
Is that what happened? Maketoys is to blame for Takara's inflating prices?
@@PerspectiveEnd Not Maketoys! I mean Fanstoys! My bad!
Dunno if anyone else said this yet, but you can put the rotary cannons onto the arms.
A great many have yes, but it's ok. Thanks for trying to reveal the secrets of this figure unto me.
fun fact, the rottary cannons can attatch to the wheels on his arms
I did not realize that.
500% agreed 👍🏻
Great review 👏🏻
Glad to hear it, and thank you!
Metal Slug is G O A T of the Game world.
Agreed.
WHAT THE-
YOU ARE AT 9.6K SUBS!!! WE ARE GONNA REACH WHATS THE BEST GRIMLOCK THIS YEAR!
I do believe we will.
Looks amazing, I’m in on this but I’m waiting on repaints personally.
Repaints into what?
@@PerspectiveEnd I would love a red one. I’m not knowledgeable of metal slug at all but does the game not have iconic skins or something along those lines?
I need this, and i need the model kits too.
It's great, and I picked up one of the model Kits, it's solid.
@@PerspectiveEnd IKR, i need to find a place where they sell them.
I found mine on Ebay.
As of right now he's Gizmo.
Look him up on TFWiki.
It´s perfect, It´s Metal Slug, it´s Transformers and also kinda looks like a OZ-06 Leo.
I is perfect indeed, and someone else mentioned the Leo a few weeks ago.
i just ordered this! I'm so excited for it. I don't own a transformers or any figure that's this good. I'm usually happy if I can get both waist rotation and wrist rotation on my figures XD
Definitely thinking about asking for this for christmas. and is it just me or is it sad that you never did a special for 69 and 6.9k subscribers?
That is too bad. I did miss a Trick with that one.
This seems to have the same build quality as TFC Lumintent. Not a TF character but still a fabulous piece. Surprisingly no one even talked about it. You should check it out if you get a chance.
Never heard of that thing before but it does look cool.
Never heard of it. Sold out, so I'll have to find a way to experience it myself.
I mean it sold out in just a few days of being out, I wouldn't be surprised to see a second run get done.
6:04 funnily enough thats what i thought of the fanstoys soundwave and why that figures diecast doesnt bother me lol
this looks like if guzzle survived sotw and went through the empurata but escape in time before the hand replacement and started thinking about his past decisions and had a talk with tailgate
theres a part of me that said this because thats my first part while the other part is just desprete for more things wrecker related the last time i've seen wrecker related info is when shattered glass ultra magnus had a team of sg wreckers
also nevermind i'll just call call it tank empurata tailgate
Don't you compare my son to that evil Asshole.
never knew this existed
now I am in love
Happy to bring it to your attention.
Well now I'm convinced. I've been seeing this little guy advertised for a bit, and I love me some Metal Slug, but I was extremely skeptical. I guess now I have to go & find one.....
That's going to be a problem because while it was in stock yesterday, it's sold out today, I don't think I had anything to do with it.
if hasbro did ever tackle this design for a crossover collars figure, this they would most likely use the kingdom warpath figure and heavily retool it. (and maybe find a way to no longer make it partsform too) but yeah this looks fucking sick as hell and beautiful at the same time.
That would work as a little Metal Slug yeah, and it'd be fun.
@@PerspectiveEnd another idea for a crossover collars figure: Star Wars x-wing using kingdom cyclonus!
I suppose I do too... 4 and 5 weren't very good, so I was worried about 6.
See, Hasbro? THIS is how you do a Collaborative figure, not the hollow dumpster fire that is HISS Tank Megatron.
Indeed. Too bad you will never do anything this good in the Collaborative serries ever.
Yup cool video friend have fun
Thank you very much!
Just amazing
It is indeed.
All we need now is a transforming Slug Mobile then our lives would be complete :D
I read that and thought it was like a Mobile Phone, so I was very confused for a minute.
This figure is so beautiful
Indeed it is.
Hey perspective did you hear of the magic square 2.0 light of peace
Hear About it? I transformed it for the first time yesterday.
After having watched the review, this is what can officially be done with 80 bucks!?
Yes please!
And I think I'm going to go look for Metal Slug somewhere.
Man I swear this wasn't sold out like just yesterday.

@@PerspectiveEnd I should've specified...
I meant the game...
Will perspective ever make a character sheet about the metal slug transformer, also when will we see his eye on but with mask on?
Fuck, did I not put that in the video? I took video of it, and intended to use it but did I forget?
And what is this about a character Sheet?
@@PerspectiveEnd no we haven't, and a character sheet is like a character you make or a personality you give a character that hasent been given a personality... like if megatron didn't exsist till today I would write hes a dad like veteran
this figure is massively epic
Indeed it is.
Just had a really cool idea, A 3rd party head that turns him into Warpath.
That would be cool yes.
I really like when he gets something he really likes
It's a nice treat to be able to make a video that is nothing but positive.
Did you know the turrets could plug into the pegs on the arms or did you forget to put it in?
I figured they could do something like that, but didn't know that specifically at the time.
As I said on Jobby's video: Remember there's a second LED in the head. You have to take one of the sides off to replace the battery if the eye dies. This is not in the instructions!
What do you mean there's a Second LED in the Head?
Slag it. I will have this little precious beast in my claws as soon as I get my car sorted out. $80 is still a fairly large chunk of change.
Maybe I can save up and treat myself on my birthday in a couple weeks...
Well you will have to wait for it to come back into stock, because while it was in stock yesterday, it is sold out now. Hopefully the second run is quick.
Till such time here is the link.

@@PerspectiveEnd Thank you sir.
Quick question, will you remaster what’s the best arcee?
Yes, I do plan on that eventually.
was there ever a toy of a robot to tank? that had working treads?
MMC eris kultur
@@TAAAKYON ok thanks
MMC's Eris Kultur has working treads.
@@alexholker1309 ok isi'nt that the female tarnsaurus??
There have been ones with working treads but they are Bad.
I can gladly say i ordered this, just came in today, and I agree with every statement in this video, he is my son, thank you
I am proud to hear that.
Mission, Complete!
FINAL MISSION!
Will you be making a fixing kingdom?
I plan to hopefully by the end of the month.
@@PerspectiveEnd ok nice 👍
Look mate I understand that you have a schedule for video but you have to be easy on yourself please get some rest amazing video btw
NEVER!!!
He kinda looks like a beefed up bt from titan fall also legacy crankcase is in stock on the bigbadtoystorw
I Totally see where you are coming from.
I bought this guy and my god he’s good also you can take turrets off the pugs and give sick mini gun arm guns
I thought it seemed like those turrets had something else to do but I couldn't figure it out my self.
Sorta reminds me of bastion from overwatch might be because it's a mono eyed robot that turns into a tank.
One of my friends mentioned that to me the other day, and I feel you.
What’s your opinion on the silent hill 2 and resident evil 4 remake?
Never played Silent Hill 2, and I am excited for the RE4 Remake.
I think I might need this
I think you do to.
bro just remembered the fixing earthrise video
I didn't JUST remember it, I think about doing it literally every week, then something gets in the way.
Metal slug mode = death to all !!
Robot mode = cute boi indeed
Both modes are both.
@@PerspectiveEnd true, this figure is like ( and forgive the terminology but it's the only one that fits ) if the chibi artstyle became a transformer
Jobby had Mega Doragon, and Perspective has the Metal Slug Transformer.
What is it with Toy Reviewers and having toys they call their sons?!
I sent you an email!
Also this is an official crossover figure?!?!
It's an official Metal Slug product, but it is not officially crossing over with the Transformers.
This thing is so cool! Way better than rodimus for sure
For sure. But that's easy.
@@PerspectiveEnd true.
