it's so nice that you added al the close-ups of the shoes in your videos! really helps clarifying what you're explaining :)
I'm SO glad you like them. My ghetto shooting/editing skills are just... sad.
One of the hacks from another video is that the dancer uses a thin awl (from any hardware store) to punch the holes in the shoe where the darning needle will follow so it makes the sewing super easy and the awl is designed to puncture things and it requires much less force to punch than it does with a needle.
Would be so great to see the dancer wearing them at the end - getting to see the end result produced by all the adjustments would be very satisfying!
I want watch Josephine in point shoes 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
You mean... like this? ruclips.net/video/czZPBLEbds0/видео.html
I find it so impressive that you know SO much about so many different shoes and types
Thank you so much! Definitely couldn't get a job with this knowledge anywhere else
Eeeee! A pointe shoe hack with the type of feet I have! Rolling over has always been a problem for me. I'm in a 3/4 to help hold me back as well, but I think I'm going to try cutting further back like hers. I use the same ribbons. But, I'm going to try darning her way too. I'm so excited to try these hacks out. I'm so stoked! I also don't break my shoes in with my hands. If I do my feet kill my shoes in one class. Im sure she has that same issue. Thank you!
I know where they were sitting!!! haha that's so neat that she was in Pittsburgh!!!!
I wear a nitrile glove when sewing my shoes. Always have. It’s safer than trying to manipulate the needle and the theraband square and has the added bonus of grips on the finger tips (at least on most brands of gloves).
Love these videos! Would love to get a video about freed makers and their differences. There’s not much information out there, especially on RUclips about some of the basic differences of Freed Classics, Pros, 90s, etc... and some of the most popular or desired makers. I’m sure a lot of people would be interested in learning more!
Love love love❤ I love all your sessions covering everything Thankyou ❤
I love love this series and enjoy seeing you on tour! I'm just an adult beginner but I still find these videos so interesting and educational.
Oh thank you so much! I"m so happy you like them! I learn something new every time too
I tried this hack when sewing my new Capezio Avas. It really works!
Found these very helpful as a beginner pointe dancer 🤗
i don't do ballet but i've sewn some thick unruly fabrics. Dritz Needle Pullers are fabulous for gripping needles.
That theraband tip!🙌🏻
Great video, as always but watching this from the UK and knowing it's a US channel, it's SO weird to suddenly hear a dancer with a British accent!
hahaha! We're obsessed with her accent
really interesting video but omg Josephine your leggings are fire!
Anyone else want to see those lovely feet in the shoes, to see how the shoes "control/help" them? Loving the tips from all over! 😀 ❤️❤️❤️😀
That's a good idea. It's so hard to be strong with that much flexibility
I'm starting pointe soon and my teacher prefers gaynor minders, it would be great if you could do a video about your opinions on these and any tips specifically for gaynors. Such a shame that you only work in America would be great to have you in the UK! :)
Thank you
Hi Josephine! I saw that you’re coming to San Luis Obispo possibly on one of your videos. What dates would this be 😊?
Hi from the Netherlands! Love your videos! As an adult beginner to ballet (started at 34) and newbee to pointwork shortly, could you give some tips on how to keep your shoes/ airate them AFTER class? Lots of love, Leontien
Yes!
Wing blocks!👍
Will u ever come to Scotland specifically Glasgow pls I need a good pointe shoe fitter love ya 💝💗💖
Emma Logie you’ll have to put her up for her stay ha ha. X
I would LOVE that but we don't travel internationally... yet. ;)
I’ve taken ballet for three years or so, and I’ve always wanted to transition to pointe. I’m curious if she’d be willing to still sell me shoes.
Hi!
Can you suggest the best pointe shoes for those who have “Grecian Feet”?
I'll do a video on that!
Come to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet
Hi! Could you do a fitting for a second long toe/greek toe please?
Yes :)
I would love to see the dancer try the shoes on at the end and see how their feet look in the shoes. :)
sewing ribbon basics and elastics would be great.
Hey Josephine, I was wondering about my pointe shoe problem.
I do have strong legs/feet but I can't seem to roll up onto pointe on one foot?
This sounds like a strength issue. Perhaps you need more support in your shank :)
@@ThePointeShop Thank you, ill get that checked out at my dance store, thanks again :)
Yeeett feeetttt 😍
I know right? #FEETGOALS
It would have been great to see where she 3/4 by trying them on and showing the detail
Can you come to Sacramento?
I live in Oakland. Of course :)
Whenever you come to salt lake City again, you should come up to Logan and fit dancers in the Cache Valley Civic Ballet, and students in the school! I just got permission to go on pointe, otherwise i would have seen if you could come fit dancers in my studio when you were closer
Would love that. Please have your director email us! info@thepointeshop.com
@@ThePointeShop okay I will!
L and
Josephine- When are you leaving pittsburgh? Wondering because I'm having trouble with my shoes and wanted to get an opinion.
AY. I've already left! But will be back :)
@@ThePointeShop Can I give you my contact info somehow so you can let me know when you'll be back?
Josephine❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
Your comment always make my day :)
How much does a fitting cost?
$35 fitting fee is waived if you purchase shoes :)
Can someone be too heavy en pointe ?? If so, what happens???
It could put some strain on your ankles and feet but pointe work in general is defying human capabilities. You can do anything.
Thank you so much for the information!!! These videos are so helpful!!!
Hey i wanna start ballet im 11, and im wondering if you can get your pointe shoes in less than a year of training. Can you?
Ana Chabanov definitely not recommended. you need the proper technique, strength, and development before you begin pointe work, or else you can get injured very easily.
Kayla Cooper hey thanks for letting me know 😊
Them feet! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ wow!
💖👑👑💖🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀
Look at that foot though
You didn’t show us her feet on point! Why?
I hate the fake vocal fry...why is a British woman doing it?
