Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If you're into being off-grid and boondocking or doing dispersed camping whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations and 12v refrigeration. Come on along, we're happy to have your company!

My wife an I visited Virginia City and Bannock probably 50 years ago.it was priceless then and still is! Thanks for the memories. Travel well!
What a great tour! You have an amazing eye for pointing things out and explaining what they are whereas someone like me would just overlook it. Like the worn out beam in the blacksmith shop.
I’ve been through Virginia City twice. But not when anything was open.
Once in January and that was cold and snow. Once in early spring. I can see I need to make a trip during open season to take in the museum areas and inside the
buildings. But , I will say the January visit definitely gave you a sense of the true “ rawness” of what life would have been like . Man, it was COLD!
Really interesting trip back in history in Virginia City. Thank you folks
Just incredible that the buildings are untouched... vandals and arsonists destroy so much in other areas of the country.
True. People do seem to have a hard time taking care of things.
That town looks awesome. I love that kind of place. That mat for getting under the car was slicker than greased owl turds!👍🏻🇺🇸
👍👍👍👍👍, This place is defiantly on my bucket list.
Amazing tour !! Thank you!!
Never seen or heard of those creeper mats.
Really neat
Awesome video. Montana has always been on my bucket list, thanks for sharing !
Loved the tour.
This was a very special trip! Love seeing the old towns and the small towns. This was just wonderful! Thank you for all the effort and high gas prices paid to bring this to your channel!
Thanks to some generous viewers and us saving up for this trip, knowing we'd have the high gas prices. And thank you, Wanda, for always watching our videos. We always appreciate that!
@@gonagain you two take me to all the places I can never go. Wish I could contribute as well. Maybe someday!
Hell, I am a tourist, I will fit right in. This is on the list of must see! thank you ALL stay safe
Wow…that’s an awesome historic town…thanks for sharing a walk through a bygone era…luv’d the journey glimpsing all those priceless treasures. 👏
I highly enjoyed this episode of tour of Virginia City, MT.
Awesome time capsule of a town, thanks for sharing.
Amazing town! Everything kept as it once was so that we could appreciate and learn from today! Excellent video guys. History of VC Montana very interesting. I didn't know Montana had one too. Thank you so much. I hope vehicle issue was figured out and not serious. Happy and safe adventures. Thanks for bringing us along. 🙂
Great video, thank you both!
What a neat little town. Lots of history. Not sure if you guys watch Steve Wallis on RUclips but his wife died unexpectedly a few days ago. He could really use prayers right now.
We heard thru his channel about Beautiful Wife. Steve must be devastated, we both prayed for Steve and family.
That was super neato, nicely preserved walk back into time!
Okay definitely going on my bucket list as I love the historical stuff! Okay Linda I’ll hit it up in the late spring or summertime!
I want to go there. Thanks for sharing!
You did a good job of explaining what we were seeing thank you.
Rick, when you were walking the streets, talking about the "PLUMMER" gang, I could just picture you as part of, if not the "LEADER" of, "THE PLUMMER POSSE"! 😂💪😱
Absolutely enjoyed this tour ! You guys are so wonderful to spend time with , so very grateful for your videos 🥰💞👍
Thank you for saying so, Denise! We appreciate hearing that. Be sure to join us again next Friday.
This is a great video, Thanks for showing
Thanks for watching, Frank!
Oh what a great video. Im NOT a history buff, but I do love looking at old items. What a well preserved place, all because someone cared enough to think of us, people of the future.
Looks like our garage full of old things
Great video! We've been to Virginia City Nevada, but we didn't even know about Virginia City Montana. What a rare, well preserved old west town. Thanks to the Bovey's!
Wow very cool. I'd love to go there.
Loved this video...the theme to Bonanza was playing in my head.
Glad to see you two back out and about .
Thank you. Love seeing the old buildings and love seeing yall
Nice to see you too! Thanks for watching our video, Don!
Yet another great video! Special thanks to Linda for her recounting of your stay at the hotel years ago. I could visualize the stairs worn by cowboy boots!
Neat town. The 3-7-77 was interesting as well as many of the buildings. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks!
Wow! A true time capsule. Great video.
Your. both so precious !
Your style and care in presenting your travels is heartwarming, informative and pride garnering. Good luck with the gas leak ? in truck. Safety, good food and laughter always
Safety, good food and laughter always!
Thanks, loved it!
Thanks, Bruce!
Thanks, I just ordered one creeper mat for myself!
I'm still working on finding the source of that smell and will be using the creeper again today.
It's always fun to see places I've been through others eyes. I took video of the old buildings from the front but not the behind the scenes like you! My back was hurting so I was more interested in finding a bar to sit and have a beer!
A bar sounded good towards the end of our walk through town!
Fascinating
You guys are a hoot! Love your videos. You never said if you got your car fixed.
Still tracing out that gasoline odor but I got some good tips from viewers. Stay tuned!
What a beautuful old inn. Loved seeing the rooms. I am a quilter, so of course I was checking out the quilts on the beds.
Another great video guys!! 🤙✌️
Thank you, Scott.
That store was very cool. I also loved the Iron stove
I had never seen one like that before.
This video makes me want to go back and see Virginia City again it really is a neat place to see. Thank you for the tour.
Thanks for coming along!
This was a great video Rick, I absolutely love historical buildings and artifacts, also it is hard to imagine buying a town lock stock and barrel, truly a forward thinking purchase.
If you notice everything in the town is biodegradable wood, iron or material. Again well done.
Thank you! We love the rich history this country has and to be able to walk the street of times past...wow.
My family is from there so I have been hundreds of times. Love it.
I’m ordering that creeper today, beats the heck out of my Harbor Freight packing quilt.
Really cool town. Love that fire truck I spotted in the background.
Got to get out there soon.
This was a fantastic video!
Thanks again for sharing your adventures.
Thanks for watching, Doug! Appreciate it.
cool place, rick..thanks for sharing..
...Gypsy ....
Very interesting I love history I would be in my element thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching, Laura!
Hi Rick and Linda ! Really beautiful country! Fascinating in town, amazing to see an original part of history...as always, superb video ! Safe travels...M
Great video Rick
I will have to add Virginia city to my Bucket list
👍interesting place, thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you too, Mark.
God Bless you both for taking us homebound folks on a wonderful tour of a place we never would have seen otherwise. Safe travels and thank you.
Thank you for coming along with us, Hannah. Stay tuned for more!
Hi Rick and Linda! Long time, no hear. That was amazing. I cannot get over how intact the merchandise is in all the stores. It really was stepping back in time. That hotel was very quaint. I hope you got that leak in your vehicle resolved. The two of you always find the neatest places.
Hi Jo Ann! We've been on the road in NV, stopping in more out of the way places. Always nice to hear from you
Hi guys, this is your best video yet. We love you.
Thank you! We appreciate hearing that.
Loved seeing the old town hopefully we kin visit one day
We hope so too.
What a awsome place. Thanks for the tour. I dont know how much it helps . But I watch all your commercials 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That actually helps a whole lot.
Wow! What an absolutely amazing town. I am SO glad the folks preserved it for us today. We have added it to our list of places to visit b/c of your video. It is incredible that those buildings are still standing on their original foundations (I wish builders today would do that kind of quality work. I'm not sure a lot of homes built today will last 150 years!). I love those big posts at the bottom of old staircases. I loved that Linda told the story about y'all staying there. Thanks for the tour, too! Very neat place...maintained in incredible condition...thanks to the Boveys (?) Such an absolute treasure!!! I love Linda's sense of humor! ❤🙏Jane
That is an incredible place! Thanks for your comment, Jane. See you on the next one!
One of your more interesting videos.
Thanks for Sharing U 2 Redoing a shed today , lol .
Up on the roof baking in the heat ..Take Care .
Be careful of the heat, Murray. We tore down a potting shed that someone built where the open patio was. Now it's back to being an open patio and more usable!
Oh So Nice & So Sweet, I Love this town. (My father Always said he was born 100 yrs Too late. At the time I didn't know what he was talking about, but I sure turned out to be an old soul longing for Yesteryear) I'm definitely going to make a trip up to this Fantastic Town next summer. And All the other Great places Montana has to offer. Unbelievable Beauty. This is my kind of Disneyland. Thank You Rick and Linda yet again, for bringing us to Another Wonderful place. History has always been my main focus, and the 'American West' comes in Tops above everything. I keep praying it will still be America, in the next hundred years. You Really know how to deliver a great story, and soon we hope for a full length feature. Personally I just Can't get enough of this show and tell. 👍👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks, Vinny! We're currently in North Central Nevada, just hanging out and exploring canyons. The neat thing about the southwest is that you can still see history laying around, because things don't deteriorate very much, and they aren't covered under feet of humus.
I hope you’re happy! Again you’ve got me so interested in a subject I spent six hours looking up vigilantes, Montana History etc etc etc!!!
Loved this video and am thinking of buying one of those “creepers”, Take Care, see ya down the road.
I just used that creeper again this morning.
Great tour...look back in history...
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Love that Cat yellow! Good that the road was dry. Rain on dirt roads can be a real challenge. Hope your car troubles is minor!
Thank you!
Rick, I have to say, your vids are always interesting, no matter the content and I always look foreward to your adventures!
Thank you! Join us every Friday for another adventure--at our age, just going to the store could be an adventure.
When we visited the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, there was a building that had been moved from Virginia City. One of the Docents told us it can snow any day of the year in MT. Great video
Oh yes! It can snow on any day in Montana.
Very neat place. Stay safe and healthy.
Thanks, Badger Pa!
Rick and Linda. We love Virginia City. South of there between Virginia City and West Yellowstone is a lake formed by an Earthquake . Fantastic area. Thank you .
Hi Dennis, we were camped near that quake formed lake just a few days ago, at Wade Lake. Its no longer the quiet area anymore but with lots of people enjoying the no motorized watercraft allowed lake. Beautiful area.
I sure wish we had more years we would love to tour montana and Virginia city. We always drove by because it was always winter when we went.headed for the heat
Enjoy your videos, Steve coming from kapolei Hawaii
Awesome, thank you! A hui hou!
What a fun video! We will for sure check it out next trip out west. Hope your Yukon is all better. We drive the same vehicle and had the exact same problem this summer. Have a blessed weekend folks.
I'm still working on the Yukon, but found a kinked line this morning.
@@gonagain sure hope that's all it is .ours was an evap canister.
thanks for the tour 👍👍, what ever happen to the pies
There are pies out there, waiting for us, I just know it.
Virginia City is one of my favorite places in Montana.
Incredible visit-thanks Rick & Linda. Hope you found & fixed your fuel leak. LOL- it's the adventure filled road less taken 🤷
Still looking...
@@gonagain 🙏🙏
Neat places.
Rick I have a couple original windows in my house built in 1850.The glass is wavy like the store front windows.Great video ya'll
Wow, how cool is that!
One more place to put on the list to visit! The gold discovery in Alder Gulch is what started all of this. A great piece of western history that is well preserved.
Oh my goodness 👍👍
I just loved this video it was so interesting it was just a joy. Thank you for sharing your adventures you guys just bring the video to life with your descriptions it was just enjoyable so enjoyable.... I just can't wait for the next one 😁
On a personal note Im doing good thanks for asking on your last post and I was wondering how your knees was doing especially after your bike wreck and how is Linda's ankle doing with the hiking around in the woods and the rough roads LOL
❤ you guys take care 😊 Teresa in Michigan .
Rick gets around just fine, he has to be careful and mindful of his knee. The bike ride crash left him with a scraped up elbow that our girls took care of. My ankle is almost back to normal but it aches after a long day. Now it's the tendons and muscles that need to work right. Thank you, Teresa, for always watching our videos and always with a nice comment. Aloha...Linda
Such a great video. Maybe someday I will see it but in the meantime your video is excellent!!! Hope the truck gives you little trouble. Remember slow and steady.
Any pie ?
We did try some pie in Jarbidge.
Virginia City looked like an interesting place.
Make note, do not enter construction areas till done. Good luck, have fun, Mike
If I'm ever up that way I'll definitely try to get there. 1940 that was the year my dad was born
Rick and Lynda that was a very enjoyable story. Here in NZ there was a (shop) at the Owen river called “Dizzys” and that was a step back in time. Kiwi Dave New Zealand.
Thanks Dave!
Kia ora! Those places that take you back in time makes you a time traveler.
Did anyone tell you how much the Boveys paid for the town in 1940? What a wonderful tour. Glad to see you’re back on the road!
:) WOW! AMAZING Place indeed! Thanks for sharing, GREAT Video! All those original stores ans stuff inside! All you need is to find home made Pie :) !!! ALL THE BEST and BTW, Noraly's last video, she made it to Missoula MT :) Cheers ! :)
Thanks for the update on Noraly, Marty! We're somewhere in Nevada, enjoying the heat while we can .
I have been to Virginia City in Montana. We loved it so much that I had applied for a job there with the city a few years ago. I got interviewed, but unfortunately did not get the job. It have would been a big move from Alaska!
Aw, if you had been hired, you would have had family here!
Neat place
It appears that you two and my wife and I crossed paths possibly multiple times in July/August 2022. We towed our camper from Jackson Hot Springs to Bannack for Bannack Days, to Dillon on the Sunday after, same day down to the Centennial Valley, and stayed there for 4 nights. Traversed the Gravelly Range Road leaving the Centennial Valley and spent just a night at Norris Hot Spring before a week in Rock Creek at Bitterroot Flats campground. Followed by a week in the White Sulphur Springs area for the music festival and capped it off with 3 nights at Crystal Lake in the Big Snowies. The local resident spoke the truth about how bad the northern end of Gravelly Range Rd and especially Call Rd were in late July. It took us two hours to get from Clover Meadows down to the last mile or two of Call Rd before pavement. Any other route out would likely have been better.
Enjoying the channel!
If you see us, be sure to say hello! You never know where we're gonna be...
What an interesting town. Was Bonanza in Montana? Always thought it was placed in Colorado. Thank you for a very interesting tour. Wishing I could visit.
The TV show Bonanza? I remember that show with the Cartwrights...no, it wasn't set in Montana.
i need one of the creeper mats.
And the award for a travel documentary goes to……..Gonagain😎
LOL! Thank you.
Rick,
There is subliminal advertising in this video. I keep getting flashes that say: Rick needs a motorcycle- Rick needs a motorcycle- Rick needs a motorcycle..... 😃😃🤠
LOL!
Do you carry a set of traction boards in case you get stuck. Enjoy your videos and following your adventures.
No, we don't. Maybe we should but for now, we don't.
My Chevy HHR was doing the same thing with the gas fumes, then, it just stopped, I could never find a leak.
I'm still looking. I've gotten a few tips from viewers too that i can chase d.own
Gas is closing in on $3.20/gal here in Georgia. Hopefully with the normal winter fall in demand we will all see some additional relief.
Wow, that's nice to hear! We're currently in Nevada and just paid $4.73.
@@gonagain $3.34 in deep red Oklahoma for now. Inevitably, the cost of using gasoline is going to rise. Gone are the days of my youth when Good Gulf was only $.289/gallon and my Dart with a lazy six on its side got around 20 mpg if I drove sensibly. The fact I replaced the clutch three times in four years should tell you how I drove that Dart into the ground.
Hey Youse Two🙋♀️🇨🇦❤️‼️ We just finished testing out our Taylor Coach& FJ(Black Betty) combo, 13,600+miles @ 14mpg, the only issues are: 20gigs of data only lasts me 2 weeks, and we Still are held captive in Canada by the Dicktator! So I've missed watching you and buying stuff 😆😆😆🙋♀️🇨🇦❤️🚙⛽️⛽️⛽️‼️
Hi Jane! Linda and I are happy to hear from you. We got Starlink a month ago, used it at home and are now traveling with it. It's doing great as long as you give it a good view of the sky. For us that's to the north. Glad to hear that your outfit is working out for you.
I believe the saying is, "Subtle like a crutch." Rick and Linda.
When I saw the video title my first thought was... uh-oh, somebody got Linda mad
LOL!
