Christian Mbilli - Is a Cameroonian-French super middleweight boxer. Born in Cameroon, he moved to France in 2006 with his parents and competed in the 2016 Olympics making it through to the 3rd round. He is currently 26-0 in his professional career in the 168 lbs division and is known for his great combinations and punching power. He is ranked #3 by The Ring Magazine in the Super-Middleweight division.

Theory: Canelo fights Mbili in May, according to Espn Canelo's plan for 2024 is Munguia and then Benavidez in September but he will only face Munguia if he beats Ryder, which I doubt will happen so he will need a replacement.
After the terrible fight with Jermell, Canelo will choose to fight someone with a friendly style and a good record with many knockouts for the casual public and who is known and valued by the most die-hard fans.
That leaves 2 options Mbili and Morrell. Morrel will not be because he has less than 10 fights, he has not faced a top 10 in the division and because stylistically it is the most difficult fight.
That leaves Christian Mbilli with a 25-0 21 Ko as the best option
Sweet I'd like to see that. Canelo against Mbilli, Benavidez, Morrell I'll be up for all of those fights!

I saw one fight of his and knew immediately he’s a threat because he has what a lot of fighters don’t have or avoid which is inside fighting.

One of the most underrated boxers i stand by this but he needs more good fights
He doesn't like jabbing or the highlight don't show the jabs? That's a problem when the opposition becomes game.
He has a solid jab but he punches in combination often, naturally a highlight can't show absolutely every facet of his skill set he doesn't double or triple up on his jab much for example so it's not worth highlighting. If you want to see his best fight to date then watch him against Carlos Gongora, great fight.

As tall as Canelo and Ryder, how will he able to handle against 5'10 - 6'1 super middleweights? Haven't seen him fight againsts as tall as those heights.

How's he raw? He's really technically refined. Those punches are tight and sharp, the only thing that needs a bit of work is his foot movement.

He's good...but at higher levels like a Plant, David, Canelo he'll get outboxed. Yeah he's 26 - 0 but no offense I can't name one guy that's even close to contender level. He should fight better competition before jumping the gun.
Ah you missed out on an amazing fight with Carlos Gongora! He's a very good fighter, him and Mbilli fought an absolute war. Gongora beat Ali Akhmedov back in 2020 in another amazing fight.

It's possible but Derevyanchenko is such a durable fighter, I think if Mbilli does stop him it's probably because Sergiy has taken too much punishment in a tough career. This has the potential to be a great fight I'm looking forward to it.
