So excited for Bivol vs Zurdo, been waiting for Zurdo to fight against a top guy for God knows how long and I've thought Bivol was one of the best in the game since the Robert Berridge fight. I hope 2023 brings us Bivol vs Beterbiev. Great highlight again Hanza, love the technical ones focusing on particular parts of Boxers games.
What impress me the most with Bivol is how he neutralizes his opponents by using his jab in 4 different ways. To control distance when he stretches that arm out, his counter jab which I think is his best weapon, his set jab for that 1-2, his power jab that his uses to either slip threw his opponents guard or break threw it.
This young man is good he got the job done. Has a lot of energy keeps distance like a champ and continues and continues doesn't stop. I see a really good future for Bivol. 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Back then, I told everyone who asked me to pick fighters to give Canelo a great fight I'd say Bivol and Beterbiev in a heartbeat and people laugh at me coz they don't know them. I was right and Bivol deserved all the respect he's having right now coz he's been a dominant fighter since Andre Ward.
This is the way Bivol gets rid off pressure, he jabs in pendulum step, and if needed he will throw a 1-2 to keep you buisy on that spot without letting you advance, and if he misses the jab he feints it and then throws it. It's like using a spear the man has mastered it.
I have to admit, when I heard that Canelo was going to fight him, I thought he didn't stand a chance and they are trying to sell the fight by saying he has one. BJS and Plant were also undefeated and champions as well and Canelo beat them easily, so I was convinced Bivol would be just another guy and that no one below cruiserweight division except Beterbiev cannot defeat Saul. That was my opinion even though I haven't watched any of Bivol fights prior and didn't know anything about him except that he is a WBA champion. I was watching the fight live and couldn't believe what I was seeing. This guy beat p4p king with 3 or 4 different punches (jab, cross, left hook, jab to the body) and I was hooked immediately. I watched all of his fights the very next morning and he is one of my favourite boxers of all time (personal preference). Sugar on top was how he beat, not only Canelo, but judges and people who prevented him from carrying Russian flag with him and stopped Russian anthem from playing while Canelo entered with mariachi. That scene kinda reminded me of Rocky 4 when Drago fought Creed. I could talk for hours about his style and what makes it beautiful, but video will say more than me.
To me, personally, it was a surprise that a lot of people said "Bivol has no chance in hell against Canelo". I guess most of it was from casual fans who don't know Bivol, and assume something like "if I haven't heard of this fighter, then he must be mediocre or bad, because if he was good I would have heard of him". However, to everyone who understands boxing it was obvious that Bivol is a very tough matchup against Canelo, because his style is one of those Canelo has trouble with. I gave a 50/50 chance to both boxers prior to the actual event, i.e. I didn't think Bivol will necessarily win, but I was sure that Bivol put up a very tough challenge for Canelo even if the mexican would win.

Bivol really shows the difference between just hard work versus hard work and inborne talent. Not to discourage up and coming fighters, but the way he has his feet and hands moving constantly is very rare, can't be taught, and is an inborne skill, like Paul McCartney's ability to sing one melody and play another on his bass guitar. Some things you can learn, some things you acquire through hard work, and some things you're born with, like being left-handed or having green eyes. He doesn't have Beterbiev's brutal thudding power, but he does have the footwork to neutralize a lot of the sting from those incoming bombs.
One is for certain that canelo remembered how bivols Jab tasted because he was feeling that the entire fight! The distance bivol has is godly compared to what I've seen!
