It would seem many have a device like this. I have found that a lot of people are affected by Balsa dust. I just be happy to have the planes clean of balsa dust 😂. I hope you are feeling better now and Happy New Year to you both. 🫡
Thanks Adam, I would like to say it was all my idea, but George from 4max has one. Also I have found out since the video that many use this design, mainly because they are affected by Balsa dust. Happy Nee Year to you and your family and have a great week ahead. 🫡
That’s a good idea Cliff, would also be kind on my ears as well 😊. It’s doing the job, so I a happy chappy, now I can move on with the build. Have a great week ahead. 🫡
Thanks Jeff, yup the Flu/Cold got me all over the holiday period. I was just as happy to get back in the hangar ☺️. The Dust Buster is working well, will save the Hangar being covered for sure. Have a great week ahead Jeff. 🫡
Love your vacuum contraption and will stop you coughing for weeks after doing some more on your Harrior 😁 Happy New Year to you and your Family Chris 🎉🍻🎉
Happy New Year to you and yours family Steve, yup it’s working great, need some earbuds now 🤣. Was typical to be ill all over the break, but I am excited we will soon have flying weather. Have a great week ahead. 🫡
That great I’m glad someone else is doing that same thing! Growing up I didn’t have a lot of money so I had to come up with something that worked for me! Good work sir!
@@markgentry5319 That’s great, this was used with scrap wood, only the hoover cost money, even that was a cheap price. I am sure you come up with a great idea. 🫡
That's a clever thing you've made, Chris. Anything to help clear the air when sanding is most welcome. I too suffer a bit when sanding (I had a medical condition that has affected my lungs, so this box of yours is of great interest).
It’s easy to make, so worth a shot. I have been sanding the harrier fuse and it seems to work well. I thinking of getting cork tiles on top and the poke out the holes, would be nice and soft for when you are resting the balsa on it. Well I hope you are all fit and well now Gina. Have a great week ahead, really interested how you find edf’s. 🫡
Glad it was a treat for you Caroline 😄. I will have to look into that, but I think I would need a hoover with more Suck maybe 🤔. Have a great week ahead.
That’s a good idea Trevor, I will have to look into that. Would be cool if I could make pucks for parts of a plane. For now I need to get this Harrier shaped correctly and in the air. Have a great week ahead. 🫡
Happy new year to you Chris, nice to see you back and feeling better. That's a good idea, especially as it will double up as a vac forming table. Might have to have ago at one myself.
Happy New Year to you buddy. Yup it’s worth making, just need EarPods to drown out the Hoover sound 😂. Will look into the vacuum forming as well, be nice to make my own canopies. Have a great week ahead buddy. 🫡
That’s great to know, even if I brushed the fuse with my hand, I coughed, so I guess my lungs do not like balsa either. I have yet to use it in anger as to say, but hopefully I get time during the week or of course next Friday. Have a great week ahead. 🫡
Hey Chris happy new year to you and the stars must have alighnted I was looking for a proper hoover to clean my fireplace instead of dust pan and brush and your vid comes up and you say about the hoover so off I went to the link provided and hey ho now have one lol on way I’d seen some others but wanted to much ££££ this one was great price, 2025 I need to chop off my clicky finger I thought I’d whooped it and hadn’t clicked on any planes for a month 😂
That’s funny, I got this as it has two filters as to say, you have to let me know if it does the job for you. I would be surprised if you had any more room for planes, you been smashing that crazy button for a while 😂. Have a great week ahead buddy. 🫡
Balsa dust never used to bother me but it does now! Shame it's so loud but I guess you don't have it running for that long at a time. Maybe a foot switch could make things a bit easier to operate it only when you start sanding.
@@bobi2582 It’s strange how our body or lungs react to things as we get older. I am going to make a switch in between the plug and hoover as I want to put some sound dampening around the hoover, hopefully it will lower the noise to a decent level. Have a great week ahead 🫡
Great to see you back in the hanger… Great video!
Great to be back in there David 😊. Hopefully the weather will be better soon, then we can catch up. Have a great week ahead buddy. 🫡
A nifty bit of dust extraction Chris!! Great idea 😀👍

Neat idea good work on that Chris.
Thanks David, will save my lungs and stop my planes being covered in the Hangar. I hope you are well, and have a great week ahead. 🫡
That is a brilliant idea Chris!

An excellent piece of kit Chris, you could build an insulated sound box around the vacuum machine to not upset the neighbours 😁👍
That’s a good idea Cliff, would also be kind on my ears as well 😊. It’s doing the job, so I a happy chappy, now I can move on with the build. Have a great week ahead. 🫡
It's great to see you feeling better with a good dose of That Friday Feeling. Interesting Dad's RC Hangar Dust Buster. Jeff in LA USA

It's Friday AND 2025 - what a treat!!! And you could repurpose it for vacuum forming!!!
Glad it was a treat for you Caroline 😄. I will have to look into that, but I think I would need a hoover with more Suck maybe 🤔. Have a great week ahead.
You could vacuum form your own canopies etc with that

I’ve all so used my homemade spray booth as well
Use a MIRV. 13 filter and a box fan and just put the fan in front of you and start sanding!
@@markgentry5319 That’s a good idea, I guess any design that takes balsa dust away from the lungs is a great thing. Have a great week ahead. 🫡
I've developed an allergy to balsa dust, and built one of these a year ago now...makes a massive difference to the amount of dust...
