In Canada the dealer ads say 2024 F150’s starting at $49,000 now. I have to assume that’s a 2wd XL regular cab pickup. A XL Supercrew is listed at $68,000 plus tax and fees so roughly $80K out the door. These prices are beyond insane.

I just got my 2023 xl 5.0 reg cab short bed 2wd. I picked it up at World Ford in Pensacola Florida with 25 miles on it and drove back home, 860 miles. I have to say, the xl is a very loaded truck and very comfortable! I got a little over 20 mpg on the trip. Who needs power seats and a bigger "tv screen" in a reg cab truck...lol certainly not me! For the price difference between the xl and xlt.. the xl is a win by a long shot..especially $15k-$30k price difference. I paid $36k for mine

Things I don't like.. all the gadgets and the "tv screen" buy that's how it is these days. I somehow turned the radio off, or it just turned itself off when I had my phone connected to it and have no idea how to get back to the radio..🤣🤣

Another interesting option would be the XL reg cab with the 8ft box with the 3.5EB. Less than 150lbs heavier than the 5.0 6.5ft bed. That would be a rocket. It would sound like a minivan lol, but would definitely take down the stock 5.0 in this video. Idk if I am insane however, I think I might have a solution to your truck issue. Step 1 get yourself a gmc savana or chevrolet express van either used or new doesn't matter only make sure that it is only the van version and not the passenger one. Step 2 disable the car battery, take out the rear headlights and the wires connected to them. Step 3 get yourself a angle grinder, a angle grinder component boxkit, a plasma cutter, a mig weld, welder clothes, welder helmet (highly recommend the ones that use solar to be activated aka automatic), some good old steel ish shoes, welder gloves, some hearing protection, gasmask or something that protects your lungs and some glasses. Step 4 use the saw blade for the angle grinder or either the plasma cutter and then start cutting off half the wall and the van roof so you can turn it into a truck bed. Step 5 depending if the vans got a wall or not weld a wall behind the driver cabin and modify it to your liking Step 6 steal some cheap rear headlights from a car that replaces the original ones Step 7 either glue or drill the replacement rear headlights into the back of it Step 8 then connect those wires and the replacement rear headlights together and make sure that they are not done lazily etc Step 9 connect the car battery again Step 10 done. Step 11 Checking myself into a mental hospital

I am finding out that the 2021 and newer 5.0s come with a wet oil pump belt and cylinder deactivation. That wet belt design is awful and has been known to grenade engines, especially in the 1.0 ecoboost. I had one and it let go after I sold it to a friend at 100k miles. Just fair warning.

And of course, they're dropping their most reliable engine choice - the 3.3.

The supercharger add on from ford, drops the auto shut off and no more cylinder deactivation. Full warranty and I extended mine to 90,000 miles. All dealer installed and ford part numbers. No issues yet, a lot of fun and I get 21 mpg when I drive it normal. It’s a lot of fun when you press the pedal down though. I’m more about the smiles per gallon in the end

The only thing is, if you build & price a 2023 xl single cab F150 and add the V8 for $2,560, you come out with a total MSRP of $36,535. $35 less than this truck you showed. So sadly, with this base model you're not cheating the system and getting a deal, you're just losing the V6 option.

I brought a brand new 23 from long MacArthur Ford with the supercharger on it, they not telling you that the truck will only run 105 mph if you remove or tamper with the tune you void the 3-year 36,000 mile warranty. When you get the truck with the supercharger on it you no longer have the powertrain warranty. Not for sure about the Ford performance one that Ford is making from the manufacturer or will it run over 105. It does have 700 horses at 6800 RPMs but you can't go past 105. To put 700 horses on a vehicle that you can't use, is very misleading and it makes no sense.
