I just replaced my Upstream O2 sensor on my 2014 Chevy Malibu. I had a very hard time getting the electrical connector apart so I'm uploading this video in hopes of helping someone else. I couldnt find any videos that explained this.
Good luck!
Here is the part that I replaced: amzn.to/30F8F0R
Awesome video dude, so frustrating with some of the intricacies of these plastic parts, much appreciated.
Glad it helped!
Thank you! It was so hard finding one of these videos
Thanks! Finally a video with a great explanation and demonstration of how to disconnect it. Perfect!!
Exactly the info i needed....Thanks!
Thanks Sir!!! I just got it out. Thanks to your video🎉🎉🎉🎉
So graceful, I'm about to break out the channel locks and just destroy the whole thing. The one I'm workin on isn't so friendly lol
The first time it was hard to break loose. After that it slid back and forth easily. Hope you get it!
@@forestminer I ended up popping the connector off the water pump, and leaving the plug connected while removing the o2 sensor to get that heat shield out of the way. No more hassle
Dude i wish i could buy you a beer i looked for a video for this forever and i almost just cut mine
Glad it helped Chris!
Thanks dude I'ma follow you just cause I have a Malibu and your video was made to help people you didn't ask for any subscribers just simple straight to the point help
Thanks for the sub :) I'll post more as other things break.
@@forestminer unfortunately huh

I'm gonna attempt to change my starter on my tahoe this Sunday
Thank you. I liked and subscribed
Very helpful Thank you sir
Thank you
Thank u, from mexico
Thank you so much bro, this is exactly what I needed. But another question, what to do with that black bolt on the screwed on the side? Hope you know what i mean.
Hello! I'm glad the video helped. I'm sorry I am not sure what you mean. I sold the car last year. Good luck getting it fixed!!
Would this be the bank 1 sensor 1? Code P015A? Would this get rid of the engine light? Being a woman, just asking. Looks like something I could do on my own except we didn’t see the other side being disconnected.
Hey man any video for the downstream O2 ? Thanks for taking time to show us
You are welcome! I don't have the car anymore and never had an issue with the downstream O2. Good luck!
My son watched your video and did this and now the car is spraying oil all over the driveway.
Just kidding🤣🤣🤣
Almost got me 🤣
What tool do I use to remove the 02 sensor? I am going to replace the top and bottom 02 sensor. I have a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu limited ls.
Life saver
Seconded
Thank real helpful
Hope the birds helped out...
What can I use if the connector is stuck
There is a clip that is attached to the metal bracket on the left. How do you remove this connector from the clip? I can't get this part apart for the life of me
Hi John. I sold the Malibu last year so I am not sure. Sorry I couldn't help you out. Good luck with it!
went to auto zone and I have the 2014 chevy malibu LT 2.5 and the code is P015B: HO2S delayed response rich to lean sensor 2, heated oxygen sensor? what do I buy to fix it and can I have my son in law fix it?
Hi Kelly. I wish I could help. I sold my Malibu last year & don't recall the error code off the top of my head. Good luck with the repair!
Hi, what did you eventually do ?
Thanks bro
Do you have to unplug the neg battery terminal?
nope
how did you get it off the part where its held?
You have to use a special O2 sensor socket with a wrench. I believe I picked mine up at a local parts store. Good luck!
thank u
Where the video for the bottom o2 sensor
I'll work on that one asap.
Well it’s been a year now
And I am replacing mine today. Ayudar!
@@deez.knurtz925 did you figure it out? Wish there was a downstream video for this as it's the tougher one of the 2 to change...gotta get underneath smh
Tf why's this shit hard to pull apart
Great question!!! Hope the vid helped.
But it doesn’t sitting here for a while still don’t work🥴
Took me 45 mins to figure it out the first time. That's why I made this video. Hope you can get it loose!
