I'm 63. I grew up listening to Sarah Vaughn. I was blessed to see Sarah Vaughn in concert and Ella Fitzgerald in concert back in 1989. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Sarah's passing not long after I had been to her concert. When I saw Ella, she was frail, had to be helped out onto the stage, and sang the whole concert while seated. Later, she had a leg amputated due to diabetes and passed a few years after that. Amazing that even in poor health, these ladies were phenomenal. Both ladies' voices were a gift from God to them and to us. RIP. 🧡🧡🙏🙏

I’ve heard of Sarah Vaughan and her music. My favorite songs were Tenderly and Mr. Lucky. Anita Baker sounds so much like her. Great Video!

"Anita Bsker sounds like her!" Nothing against Anita, bit you are lacking in discerning a great from ordinary! Really a stupid comment!

She is one of my absolute favorites.
My mom would play her music for my sisters and I every morning before school. To this day, she is one of my greatest musical influences. 🌻🌼💛

I love listening to jazz while cooking as well and will add Sara Vaughn to my mix. Her story reminds me of Whitney Houston's and Natalie Cole. Her and Whitney were even both from Newark NJ. So many similarities. A comparison video of those singers and their relationships would be great.
