Please forgive if this seems preachy at all, but being on your channel I was drawn to watch your reaction here. I'd have to say that I never really liked this song because I thought it meant that we had to forget the people and things in our past. Good, bad, or indifferent, everything in my past has collectively taught me to know better what I want in my future. So, I did some digging, and I found a discussion of what the words really mean...."Auld Lang Syne" is a Scottish song that is traditionally sung to bid farewell to the old year at the strike of New Year's Eve. The title, translated literally into standard English, is "Old Long Since", and can be interpreted as "since long ago" of "for old times sake. The lyrics are about old friends having a drink and recalling adventures they had long ago. Sweet memories. Those are the memories I want to carry into the new year, every year. Thanks again for all that you do to bring joy to RUclips Land.

Wishing my new neighbor a very Happy and Blessed New Year. I'm not doing anything special this year either, it is 11:30 here as I watch this and I may get in my pajamas and watch a movie or stay here and watch more Home Free reactions. That is special enough. Home Free and the "Home Fries" are the best friends to celebrate the New Year with. While Tim is singing the lead you can hear Chance holding down the bass. then of course when Chance is singing lead Tim takes over the bass. They can both do it so seamlessly you don't even notice. That's how good they are. By the way, Home Free can be "Cheesy" when they want to and it suits them. But they do it in such a way, with so much skill and talent you don't think about it being Cheesy; like when they did Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. It's just fun. Also when they do the Butts Remix. But they can also be serious as you know. They have so much music out there and are constantly doing new stuff and writing their own original music, that the new year will not be enough to exhaust their catalog of music or cover every thing. So looking forward to spending 2024 with you and Home Free.

My wife, Special Needs daughter & I spent our New Year on a Cruise between Sydney & New Zealand. It was an interesting trip. We haven't done that before so we spend Christmas & the New Year on a Cruise. Hahaha. We didn't hear any Home Free, on board, but we enjoyed it anyway. Although I'm Australian, I grew up with Auld Lang Syne as I have a lot of Scottish friends. It is without doubt the best rendition of Auld Lang Syne I've ever heard, which in no way surprises me.

This is by far my favorite HF song. Simple yet beautiful. I've been a fan of them for 4 years and rarely have I heard a song I wasn't completely impressed with. They got us through COVID, gave us hope and always have a good message or a fun time. This is one of the few songs you get to hear Adam's beautiful high accompaniment. How great thou art is another that will have you scooping your jaw off the floor.

Another great reaction, Red! The song Auld Lang Syne is public domain which means NO ONE owns the copyright to the song. Also, Home Free publishes their songs under their own label, anf since they actually appreciate and understand that reactors spread their musuc to more audiences so it is extremely rare that they will hit s reactor with a copyright claim, if at all.
Home Free is only cheesy when they want to be ;-). You should check out their Butts Medley/Remix for some good cheese, lol.

The bass while Chance is singing was made stronger from the fact Chance was singing like a bass-baritone and when Tim erupted under him, the mixture of low frequencies from the two is pure ear candy.

Good one to End/Start the year, simultaneously at that. Hard to beat Home Free, my favorite of the A Capella's. They are the most cohesive of the A Capella groups, in my opinion. I’ve seen Home Free sing this live toward the end of a holiday show. They definitely do it justice! It’s a great arrangement! Of course, it’s always great when we get to hear Adam sing! Happy New year, to my northern neighbor (I’m in southeast Louisiana). Not much tradition with New Year. Just hoping the new year is a good one, or better than the previous. If you want another beautiful, harmony driven one by Home Free, I think you’ll love their cover of “Helplessly Hoping”!
