Notice Randy’s eyes when singing about the “long black train” they tend to move back and forth rapidly at times. That’s either nystagmus or guilt; probably both. I can’t say anything as I drink more than I should. But I’ve been a fan of both Randy and Josh for a long time and as of today (02/09/2021) for the first time seeing them play together and knowing Randy Travis’s future I can’t help but think Josh was sent by God to try to nudge Randy in the right direction. That album was really great. Randy Travis has never lost his touch. It appears that he has proven to be an inspiration for other musicians
I guess I haven't thought of it this way but this song is an illustration about the daily struggle a lot of Christians go through, I know I do, it's hard staying off that train at times, but we all know that there is nothing but anger and despair and guilt on that train but we get off and know there is a Father who loves us and will help burn that ticket because there is Victory in the Lord Almighty

I really admire Josh Turner, he was and still is a true friend to Randy Travis. When Randy was in the hospital Josh went to his room and sang to him. The second time he went was when Randy had a set back. Josh was so upset he only sung one song and left. Read Randy's book
