Tarja's concerts were never boring, and u can tell by the crowd's reactions and all, 2005 DVD was awesome. Anette's a pop singer and so was Tarja, I dont think Anette's got a powerful voice, at all! Wishmaster? Seriously.. Slaying the dreamer? Dead to the world? those songs were ruined by her, in each and every way! Nightwish is a great band and I think they deserve the waiting, so does Anette.. :)

I love how the keyboardist played the Moskau song. Now i like both Tarja and Anette. Tarja had more of a haunting voice that worked well for the time she was there. Anette's voice works well with the music surrounding her, enhancing her bandmates' sounds with her own. I actually prefer Tarja, but Tarja never had a "HEP!" chant.

Well, I understans that the setlist will be short, but I still think she should leave most of the old era songs alone. Lots of people like her singing these songs some of them don't. I can say that I am one of them. So to answer you question: yes I think that they should play the DDP songs only.

I reckon there will always be a sort of a conflict between these two, because people seem to get pleasure from attacking others' music tastes and such. it's like country music (Anette style) and rock music (Tarja).

I'm just wondering what the lyrics are supposed to mean now that musicwise (live), they don't touch me in any way. I'm pretty positive that after the next record will be released, they're gonna quit playing any of the old songs and concentrate on making a merged setlist of DPP and the next album. that would be fine by me.
I'm not saying that Tarja is bad so don't start any annoying arguments here about that part, but you can actually understand the lyrics when Anette sings them:)
Eva is cute, but is not my favorite. Ghost Love Score...Hummm...I don't know if her voice fits with this music....But REALLY love this song and would like to hear with her! Over The Hills And Far Away I am sure that would be great!!
I don't understand why they don't just take it down a key or something so that it sits more within Anette's vocal range and makes it easier for her to sing. You can see quite clearly that she simply does not have the range for this song especially at the end when she struggles to reach the high parts. This is a power metal song and it needs that really high range to work at all and slap people in the faces with its awesomeness. This kinda falls flat on its face without that element.
@nwcarmen and, "why does it matter?" well, the band wasn't just a really complex band with just some voice on top of it, which happens to the majority of the bands. Nightwish had a perfect symbiosis with the vocals and the music, it was part of Nightwish identity. Annette is not a bad singer at all, but it lacks the passion and dramatism of the music. If anything, it just brings the band down. Even on live performances they have to bring it down so she can handle it. It's really a shame

@elybosco Nightwish is more about Tuomas' songwriting and arrangements than it is who sings. I still see Tuomas in the band, so it's still Nightwish.
