Had mine for 5 weeks now and played in nothing but wet weather, I’ve got the 56 in S grind and love it. Even though greens are wet this club has been stopping even short chips and pitches on a dime. The most accomplished wedge Ping have made in years……I should know as I’ve bought most of them 😂
Their player suitability is confusing as reviewers tend to suggest that they are 'better player' wedges. Ping however imply that they are suitable for anyone as their app can identify the right club make up / configuration for any player. What are your thoughts?
Like most traditional bladed wedges, they're great for versatility and playing a range of shots around the greens but can lack a little forgiveness, which is probably where the "better player" idea comes in. With a range of bounce options and their app (which is a great alternative if you can't get a fitting), you can opt for more or less forgiving grinds to fit your swing and course conditions, which can definitely help this. However, like bladed irons, bladed wedges will be less forgiving on fuller shots. More players play them because they're rarely playing fuller shots with these clubs, but if you are looking to maximise forgiveness and like to play fuller shots with these wedges, then cavity back wedges will provide more forgiveness so may be worth checking out. Cavity back wedges also tend to look closer to a lot of popular irons at address which some golfers do like
Yes totally agree, longer grips are great, good coating for performance in the wet and the EYE2 design is great out of bunkers.
Just picked mine up S and H absolutely love pings new wedges 🔥
That's great, enjoy!⛳
My next wedges 👌🏻⛳️
